  1. Hahahahaha seriously??!?!
  2. Yiiisss! Me want that too
  3. Hey neighbor!! Are you pre or post-op? I'm pre-op and currently going through the motions of qualifying. So excited to read this forum, it's helped a lot.
  4. I don't think there's an existing group... maybe if it's established people will come... you know like in 'field of dreams'
  5. I'm so sorry you're going through this but maybe hang in there for a couple of days and see how it goes? From all that i've read it sounds like the first few days can be really tough. You'll drudge through this!
  6. Nutley, NJ here... Essex County. I'm pre-op with Dr Bertha of Morristown. Would love to join a meet-up support group but $15/mo to establish the group seems a bit much
  7. Oh, I don't think that's how it was meant at all btw. I could be wrong of course.
  8. OMG, your post had me rolling on the floor... thanks for sharing!
  9. Thanks! Not sure why anybody would either but it takes all sorts, right?
  10. Yep, it's exactly because I considered most complaints to be those of cry babies that I thought I'd try my luck here. I mean, if anybody had a real problem with WLS and was looking to educate people on their point of view I figured what better platform than here... where most people looking to get it done end up, like you said, mostly newbies. I'm not so much interested in the "OMG, I can't eat 3 pizzas, 5 donuts and gulp down a liter o soda to wash it down" types... I was just curious to see if there were actually genuinely serious people who regret their decision.. 5-10 years down the road... I guess not. Another pro goes on my list then Thanks!
  11. Good morning lovely people, I read all these success stories and that's great, it's motivating and helps me stay on course. I'm about halfway through my qualifying process for the sleeve. In the interest of getting the whole story though I was hoping to hear from people who regret having done wls? Thanks for your input.
  12. Thanks!! Great to hear I'm superpsyched and can't wait to get where you are.
  13. Any follow ups on this topic? I'm also scheduled with him; date TBD.
  14. I'm confused... my doctor said he will recommend a week but I could go back in a couple of days if I felt up to it. Friends who had the wls done said they were aoK the next day. ... is this something other than the sleeve we're talking about?
  15. Share the load... whatever comes will be easier to bear/better to enjoy if you get support from hubs. Congratulations!
  16. Wipe my butt without going through fifteen types of stretching exercises beforehand. Oh and sitting on a chair with my knees curled up to my chin. Always thought that looked very cool
  17. Oh man! I can't imagine the disappointment, never mind problems trying to trust another doctor... ever. I'm so sorry this happened to you. I hope it works out for you.
  18. Put together a small bag, make sure you have something from home with you. Sounds like you're getting it done away from home.
  19. Good job! And thanks for giving me a visual on what scars might look like so many months out. It helped!
