Eating meals
I'd contact your doc. .75oz isn't normal 2 months out. If you eat split pea soup or cottage cheese, how does that go? Have you noticed a decrease in your consumption.. like you used to be able to finish an egg and now you can't?

No weight loss first week??
Next time I lose 2# in 4 days, I'll let you know. Surgeons ought to require patients bring their scale with them to surgery. The nurses steal them, only to be returned 15 days later. Give it a couple weeks, guys. And prepare yourselves now for the scale to stop moving from days 21-30, give or take.

Abdominal discomfort
Of course, since you are not losing weight, they don't think you need tpn. Are your clothes getting looser? You didn't mention whether you had a ct scan or mri. We had a cat once that had a problem. Didn't realize it until he was obviously sick and we took him to the vet. Turned out he had 10 pounds of fecal material backed up that he couldn't pass. He never lost scale weight, but his ribs were prominent by then. (Barn cat, so we didn't see him as much as if he had been an indoor cat). Of course if you are retaining, an imaging study should pick up on that.

Mashed potatoes are my friend but rice is my enemy
Just to be clear, I've had all of one spoonful of white mashed potatoes, and literally one noodle (made hamburger helper for the kids and picked out ground beef for me and a noodle fell in. Tasted like paste!). I did eat a full serving (4-6oz?) of sweet potatoes while on vacation.. yum! I think they'll be my new splurge. Cake? No. Ice cream? No. Sweet potatoes? YES!! Lol. Kids might be disappointed when my birthday rolls around..

Five days of Life without my kitchen
I have this experience too. My TINY aunt can put away this ENORMOUS salad...

Constipation
Definitely see a GI doc. You may have an extra long large intestine that is removing too much water. (It can happen!)

exercise and stalls?
Oh man, where is that article when I need it? Anyway, basically when you work out extra hard, you retain fluid. When you ease up, your body lets it go. So you can decrease your intensity, or not worry about it.

Has anyone eaten...
Grains are off the table for me until maintenance.

What is considered a fever?
The first week, a slightly elevated temp is normal. Anything over 100.5, run by your doc. If the low grade fever continues past day 8, mention it to your doc. If you start feeling bad... yep, mention it your doc. A temp of 102 or higher is go to the ER.

How much weight did everyone loss within the first month???
10 days postop is still super early. You probably did a bit too much, and might have needed to "eat" or drink.

Protein Based Dessert and Snack Options
Thanks! It's such a habit now, I don't think twice about it The serving of raisins on the box says 1/4 of a cup, so a serving for me is actually 1/8 of a cup. (Which means a "normal" serving would be 114 raisins! Lol!) Of course 20 raisins is plenty too.. I just make sure I don't go "over".

Protein Based Dessert and Snack Options
If/when you are allowed fruit, prunes have 1g carbs per 2g weight. So on my plan, I can have 30g of prunes (which turns out to be 4 prunes).

Protein Based Dessert and Snack Options
Lol! Well, I try and remove as many strings as possible from the celery. Counting up the raisins.... According to the box, 40g of raisins contains 29g net carbs. I allow myself 15g of carbs from fruit each day, so I weigh out 20g of raisins, which happens to be 57 raisins (today). Here is a picture of 20g raisins and 1oz each of nuts/seeds.

Gym or no gym, that is the question
Having trouble linking, but his name is Dr.Duc Vuong and the video on youtube is called, "Why you should NOT exercise after weight loss surgery"

Anyone else uncomfortable with weight comments?
It's probably because I don't work, and have no friends, so rarely come into contact with people. But, at least it keeps me from getting "Did you gain weight?"-ed!

Your Goals: What clothing size should you aim for?
I agree, we have no idea what's happening.. I always say the mirror lies!

Your Goals: What clothing size should you aim for?
Ok, so as we all know, clothing sizes do differ between brands, so the chart above is taylored to the one brand. I actually wear Christopher and Banks' trousers.. pretty much exclusively.. and turns out I shouldn't wear anything larger than size 10 in that brand! I had already set my goal to 10/12, so I don't have to modify it.. but in all honesty, I thought my goal was cosmetic, rather than health. Eye opening!

Surgery regret
You should be feeling "normal". Not eating large portions, but otherwise, just how you did preop.

Anyone else uncomfortable with weight comments?
I think she was projecting her own insecurities onto you.. she was embarrassed she had gained, so let's make you uncomfortable! Sheesh! Hate people like that..

Your Goals: What clothing size should you aim for?
https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3156549/ Beyond BMI.. the medical community is starting to vocalize dissatisfaction with BMI charts. After all, Arnold Schwarzenegger wasn't obese in all those movies! The "aim for less than 35 inch waist circumference for females" is too simplistic, and wholy inaccurate for those that are shorter or taller than average. So now it's "Your waist should be less than half your height". Seems ok to me. Simple, individual. So, I made up a chart for women based on this idea. Find your height and corresponding size.. this is the LARGEST size you should wear. (These sizes are from Lands End Misses sizing, not Women's Plus) 4'8 / 4 4'9 / 4 4'10 / 6 4'11 / 6 5'0 / 8 5'1 / 8 5'2 / 10 5'3 / 10 5'4 / 12 5'5 / 12 5'6 / 12 5'7 / 12 5'8 / 14 5'9 / 14 5'10 / 14 5'11 / 16 6' / 16 6'1 / 16 6'2 / 16 6'3 / 18 6'4 / 18 So, I am 5'7, so the largest size I should wear (for health reasons) is a 12.

Pre-op liquid diet not required but want to do one on my own.
I did have a liquid diet, but decided to start it early to "get the hang of it", so I know where you are coming from. Basically you drink 3-5 protein shakes a day, and I recommend adding a pint of low sodium v8 each day for potassium. (The shakes left me feeling desperate for *something* and the v8 fixed that feeling for me.)

Breath...
If you have thrush it'll get better when that clears up. But I bet you are spot on with keto. Increase your carbs above 50g/day, and that will knock you out of ketosis. (I did it by drinking lots of milk when I got to full liquids).

Anyone else uncomfortable with weight comments?
This kinda happened to me. I visited my Aunts this summer, hadn't seen them for years. Last time I did see them, I weighed 40 pounds more than this time. First thing they said was, "You never change". Which is better than "You gained weight", but was still surprising to me. It's like.. no.. since last time I saw you, I gained 15 more pounds, then cut out 75% of my stomach and have lost 55 pounds. Thanks! Of course both of THEM never change. (I'm the only fat one in the family).

Weighing Food
I'm confused by what you mean here. I think you are talking about people that guess at portion sizes, but this confuses me because even if they weigh out 4oz, this could still apply.. Personally, I eat mostly single- ingredient foods, so it is easy to know the nutritional content.
