  1. Update: I am one month out from my sleeve. I have lost only 11 pounds. The sleeve works and I have not overate. Craving are there but manageable with the options I have. I am a little saddened with most losing more.
  2. I am overseas and will be here for at least a couple more years. I have an adult son who is here too, and our lives have been food. There are places I know I won't be able to eat at again and I am feeling a little sad about that. All you can eat Korean BBQs, sushi go rounds, a full bowl of ramen, and even Starbucks during the month of February for my bi-weekly Sakura drink. They aren't going away or changing but I am. I feel sad that not only will I not have the same experiences, I would be going to my son's favorite place because it makes no sense to pay $30 for 6-8oz a year out from now for just my meal. I am feeling sad about it. These were things we did together. It is not quite a food funeral but is pretty close. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I am doing the surgery with a low BMI too. 19 days until surgery. I have told my mother and son. That's it. No one from work or anyone else. I have gained every year. Just 5 years ago I weighed 50 pounds less. I know the way I was coping was a losing battle. I am tired. I want my body back. I want to smile. I want to get dress and not put something back because it won't go over my thighs. I want to stop buying cheap clothes on sale because they fit. I want to go to the beach and wear a swimsuit. I want to actually look in the mirror instead of rushing past it because I don't like the reflection. You are not alone. This is about you. It is your turn. 4. I will be flying back to Japan, so it won't be a short flight. I do not have a liquid pre-op requirement due to lower BMI. I will be flying home after 2 days. I haven't tried the powders. I hope I won't be gagging on the way home. Thanks for the pillow advice. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. I am in Japan and going to Mexico March 2nd for surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Ok, so I am headed to Mexico from overseas. The plain ride will be long, but I will need to have approved liquids on the plain with me for the 16 hour flight. How do I navigate what I need, given the flying restrictions? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. March 2nd for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. I have a date (less than a month from now) and I am so excited and a bit nervous. I have searched all over this site for individuals who were sleeved at 31 or 32 BMI. Where are all of you? I would love to know how you have progressed. How is the loss when you started with less? Thank you for your support. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Thank you for this. I live in Japan and plan to continue travel in Asia. Many options are not available here and I have been concerned about food choices and enjoying the travel without focus on one of my favorite things about living here. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I logged out and back in when it did that to me a few weeks ago. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
