    Feeling guilty I guess

Guilt!! Hell. That's what you came to have removed!! You are beautiful and amazing! I don't even know you! You want to be healthier for you and your family. No more worrying about weight! You are doing it. NO GUILT! Most important-kids can weight while you drink a Protein shake and eat Vitamins. Drink the water-set timers. You must do at least those three things for you. Plan New Years-a drink or two, half of a dessert, no bread or potatoes or Pasta. Just plan. You find you stayed close to it and you'll be very pleased with yourself! Bypass or band !

Embrace that saggy skin-it's weight lose!!! Yay! The band has the most complications. Bypass for higher weigh, bypass for me. I only need to loose 110#. Do not worry about that skin until you are a few months out. Hell, politics should make you worry, not doing the greatest thing you'll ever do for you. I'm proud of you! And I don't know you. Just filled out my paperwork!

Best of luck. Are you having surgery near home? You need lots of support and visit the nutritional psychologist, the dietician, the nutritionist, and the counselor who manages your case. I had great support at Northwestern University's Hospital-Northwestern Memorial. The nutritional classes were invaluable support. Four classes before, three after. I felt well prepared. My cousin's husband lost 275# with bypass surgery, but sugary sodas and peroggies are not helpful. He is still close to 400! And he needs a new heart-which he'll never get because of that weight! Stay close to your recommendations for your diet. Plan to look back in stages. Try taking portraits every 2or 3 months. You'll be so amazed my husband is tired of me saying, 'I can't believe it!' He says to just believe and enjoy! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Stuck in a rut

Keep going! You're doing great! Cut out one or two things that you know make you feel full, like no bread or coffee. On New Years, one to two drinks, and no dessert! Make a plan and make it realistic. You'll get through this hump. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

    Hiatal hernia-how common?

My surgery was July 25th. I had two hernias and one was hiatal, the other ventral, plus the gall bladder. It was sore but i was at a wedding the following weekend from released-I had 5days instead of 4. The ventral was in front of the gallbladder. No pain from hiatal. Upside-I just stopped taking the dexilant. It works like omeprozal. No indigestion! Gastric sleeve and the other surgeries require commitment to changing how and what you eat forever. I had a piece of candy, a chocolate and I had a few Cookies a few drinks on Christmas, but no bread, little potatoes, less than a tablespoon. You cant tolerate liquid 30 mins before and 30 after a meal. You basically eat five little high Protein, low sugar meals a day and 48 oz of Water. The better you hold to that the better you lose and the better you feel. Liquor is 100% sugar. Once in a great while is okay. It's just wasted time and calories. I like being thin! I like no gallbladder and no heart burn or indigestion. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
