  1. My surgery was Dec 7th I think 5 weeks post op today. I had a bad hiatal hernia that was repaired at the same time as my gastric sleeve. I still have the pain. I was on liquid pain meds for more than a week. Gas x and walking it out helps the most. Plus I take something for stomach spams. Every time I try to add items on my nutrition chart I have a flair up with the pain. I think that is more from my hernia repair and my pouch being extra tight. I am still pretty much on a liquid Protein diet but I am more comfortable that way. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App

  10. I had not been using my cpap machine either. I did tell my dr that I had not been using it and they said they hear that all the time but that I still needed to bring it with me for use post op. Although the morning of my surgery I forgot it at home in the rush to get everything together and get to the hospital. Since the hospital was an hour and a half from my home I didn't go back and get it because I didn't want to be late for check in. I was so worried that my surgery would be postponed but it was not a problem and they told me not to worry about it. I was so relieved. So you should not have any problems with it.
  11. I have been thinking the same thing. I am currently only 11 days post op so I know that it will get better but I am still having some stomach pain and I really miss food! I even still have trouble getting enough Water down. But it has got to be worth it because I know that I will continue to heal and things will get better. I am already down 16 pounds in 11 days. 14. And I did not have a drain. I think the pain would have been very minimal if I had not needed the hiatal hernia repair. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I was sleeved and had a hiatal hernia repair on 12/7 and went home the next night. I had a LOT of pain the first night and had to receive Demerol injections in my IV. The pain was from the hernia repair and not from the sleeve. I had four incisions with the biggest and most sore being in my belly button. I was given liquid hydrocodone to take home for pain and that has worked well. The gas and bloating has been bothersome but not horrible. I chew gas x chewable often and walking helps tremendously. The first day I could not sip more than 2 ounces at a time but today, 6 days later, I am able to sip about 4. I am not hungry at all, but I have had some cravings just seeing and smelling food that my husband and children are eating. I actually feel very full just having 32 to 40 ounces of liquid a day. It is amazing. I am down 8 pounds in 6 days! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
