  1. Hey Gang... Today is my first day on puree food. Day13...lol. So... I figured it would be a good time to try and make a meal and enjoy some good. I made roast beef, mashed potatoes, and cream corn. I was out all day... so didn't really eat today. Was still doing the liquid diet. Boost, Water, coffee in the morning, blah, blah, blah. So anyway...I was so excited about this meal. Sat down and I think I forgot I had the lapband. Has a couple bites, didn't really think about it. Well all of a sudden, I get this feeling like something is stuck. Well... didn't the food get lodged. All the discussion groups I read about this. The stuck feeling. I wasn't expecting it. I figured I would have to see the surgeon in 6 weeks, get 2 cc's into the port to tighten it...lol. Is it possible... I'm already at a good setting. The green spot, The sweet spot....lol. Does anybody have any info for me please. I read we have to chew 20 times, 20 bites of food, for 20 minutes. I'm kinda excited....lol. In a weird sort of way....lol.
  2. Not cool that he is doing that @ all. Your health is worth so much more. I had to pay for my surgery also...not covered in Canada. I'm lucky enough because my wife talked me into finally doing it. I was going to do it in 2013... but didn't want to spend the money. After 3 or 4 more failed attempts at losing wait and keeping it off. It was time. To be honest... with the surgery or trying to do it on your own without surgery, you need your husbands support. Hopefully he comes around and helps you out. If not... tell him to get another job....lol.
  3. Thanks for the input guys.... To be honest...when I decided to do the surgery I didn't even consider the sleeve. I thought of the gastic bypass, and it kinda made me nervous... cutting out part of your stomach...lol. I wish I would have found this site 3 months ago instead of post op. But.... the band is in, and I have to work with the band tolose my weight. All good. I will just have to be one of those success stories we read on the Lap Band pages....lol. Have A Great Day!!!!
  4. Hi Guys... Just wondering why so many chose the sleeve over a lap band? Lap band seems less evasive and can be reversed. Sleeve is permanent and obviously more can go wrong. I just trying a lap band first would be a better option. Just looking for some feedback as to why you chose what you chose. Thanks Guys.... Jim
  5. Something wrong... this shouldn't happen. Go to ER...
  6. You're flying all the way to San Diego to have the surgery? Please explain?
  7. Drinking will be a challenge for me....social drinker, known to binge once in awhile. I think part of the reason I'm over weight. When I drink I want to eat. Late night drinking. I was a skinny growing up until my 20's... started drinking. Then drive thru's, sub shops, Chinese food. Then staying home drinking wine and ordering wings and pizza. This is the part of my life that needs to change. The hard part is all my friends drink too. Might have to find new friends...lol.
  8. Wow... this is one of the best post I have read in any discussion forum. Very honest, open, educational, and inspirational. Carbs are evil...lol. I think a lot of people are the same way. I know I am... I love meat, and veggies. But carbs are easy and everywhere. I just got banded on the 2nd of December... I will keep this post close. Thanks.... Jim
  9. I noticed everybody on here has had the sleeve done? I just had a band put in... now I'm questioning it because I see the success you guys have all had? Should I have done the sleeve instead of the band?
  10. I wish our insurance covered this in Canada.... had to shell out $12 000.
  11. @ Wow... just seen you lost 77lbs since banding in August. Hoping I have your success.... cheers!!!!
  12. @ Thank you.... just trying to find my way around the site. I see you just had it done too... have you had a fill yet?
  13. Just had my operation on December 2nd, 2016. I'm glad I found this site. There seems to be some very positive people on here. Day 5 of post op... so far so good.
