I saw my doctor in april 2015 who referred me. Had first meeting at uclh in june to discuss different surgeries available. Then had appointment for blood tests etc and then a further appointment with psycologist. Then received good news saying approved. Finally had pre op assessment dec 7th. Morning. Never wanted the phone to ring as much as I do right now lol. No date yet. Am finding it hard to sleep as always thinking about it. Am excited, nervous and little bit scared but so hopeful. Keep thinking of what the surgeon said "its a tool and it will reset your weight to what it should be". I think it will be hard but am going to run with this and make it work. Is it normal to have little niggles (like, should i have gone for the bypass and hope i lose the weight and it stays off as i dont want to go back to the way I ate before) Have you made the progress you wanted? Hi. After years of struggling with my weight and going from losing 50lbs with weightwatchers then putting it all back on and more finally plucked up the courage last april to see GP and ask for help. Referred me to UCLH in london and after few appts with the bariatric team I have been approved for surgery. I have my pre op assessment on wed 7th Dec and will hopefully come away with a date for surgery. Am having a gastric sleeve. I know its going to be hard but am going to make this work.
