    Waiting...

Well my bodywork from Dec 5 showed my a1c too high. I get it tested again Jan 5th... If it's lower then I get to schedule surgery... So tired of waiting and starting to feel frustrated... Hard to stay positive sometimes. Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
  8. My insurance required a 12 month counseling/nurse program where they called every month to discuss goals and diet and etc. I graduate this program on December 19th and then I can get my surgery scheduled. I'm a lower BMI of 34/35 5ft9 at 240 lbs. I'm very diabetic and am on several different medications and while I've never been EXTREMELY overweight, it's always been a battle. I'm hoping the sleeve will help me get my adapt to a new lifestyle and provide the tools I need to finally take the excess weight off. If successful I hope to be off most of my medications, I've heard those that follow the rules have alot of success controlling their blood sugars and don't have to take as many medications...I think I'm most excited about that. In addition to doing this for myself and my health, I also have two kids a 7 year old and a 9 year old I'd like to set a better example for. Also I'm recently engaged and am excited to lose the weight for my wedding next year!!!!

  10. 3 years ago I had a tummy tuck and breast augmentation. The mommy make-over to speak, however, now I am considering gastric sleeve to help with weight loss. I'm 5ft9in and just about 247. Not too bad, however, I struggle with type 2 diabetes and sleep apnea. I'm wondering how my previous tummy tuck will effect me getting this surgery? Has anybody done this completely backwards like I am... ugh.. I wish I had known I could have qualified for the WLS years ago when I went through the tummy tuck...I would have done this first but because my BMI has always been borderline I had no idea I would qualify because the comorbidities.
  11. Yeah my surgeon doesn't seem worried and said I may have less issues with loose skin since it's already pretty tight Sent from my Nexus 5X using the BariatricPal App
