I completed all requirements, it was submitted on 2/3 still waiting for the insurance approval..This is the hardest part! I have my pre-op on 2/17. I am nervous. I hope he gives me a tentative date pending the approval.

Your welcome. Good luck with this process. It can be long and exhausting. Stay the course which ever you decide.

Go with your heart. What do you want. This surgery is a tool to help get you to where you want to be. Surgery is serious but I do say but there are many great surgeons out there. Do your research and do what you got to do!

I submitted ALL my documents on the 2/3/17. I am sitting and waiting.. Preop this Friday. I am excited but the wait is killing me for the approval...I am day 8 of waiting!!!!

My surgeons office called and said they will submit Monday, my surgeon has to put his signature on it...

I started my Vitamins about 3 weeks ago. no surgery date yet, last weigh in was today and I met the wight. They send papers to surgeon 2/3. We shall see. Good luck

The scale is just a number....Your husband loves you and sees you everyday... Surgeon consult: weight, medical history, which surgery you want and why. He/She will give you a list of requirements for his office and insurance. Diet and what is expected before and after surgery for success. GOOD LUCK!

My husband doesnt want me to get the bypass because he thinks I will loose to much . I started at 202 now at 196. surgery to decide on. My Dr. recommends the bypass because of my diabetes. I need with you starting at 198 are you scared that you could loose to much? I need help explaining to him....

I got some of my blood work back and there are some results that I question because they are high or low. Here they are. Do you guys think that I could have a delay in surgery????? you have done great! I have a question for you..I am having issues deciding on which procedure to do. Have you had issues with feeling hungry?

I have been doing some reading about the 2 surgeries VSG or RNY. With the bypass I have seen a lot of people say that they are feeling hungry more and more. I have not read this with the sleeve. I do know that the VSG they remove the portion of the stomach that has the hormone ghrelin. This hormone is what says hey your hungry and with the RNY since the stomach is still there the hormone is still produced. I have been recommended the bypass because I have been on insulin for a while and this would be the best chance for me to get off my meds. I am worried that if I have the RNY I will feel hungry all the time and screw it all up. I have will power but I do think of all aspects of this. I need help with deciding what surgery will be the best for me. UHHGGG this is frustrating. I need input from both sides. HELP!

The bypass is recommended due to the diabetes and other issues. The sleeve can not do what the bypass will do for some issues. I had started the journey wanting the sleeve, i am 196 lbs now, diabetes on insulin and other meds for over 2 years and the best choice to help rid this is bypass. It isn't about the size in these cases for the most part. Although every case is different.
