  1. Yep, that's what they said in my pre-op class. So in our last support grp mtg, I stood up and showed the nurse who said it as well as asked if anybody else had it the same way. No one responded! My PA said once I lose more in my tummy area, it could shift and move back in some. We shall see. And I also plan on asking my surgeon when I see him in Oct. Until then, I get a kick out of letting people feel it when they reply "Are you serious?" when i tell them I got the band (upon them asking me how I'm losing the weight, that is).
  2. Jennifer, that won't be too long for you. You're weight loss is going great!!
  3. Mine's a few inches below my right breast. When I stand, it sticks out like a hernia!!
  4. Hi ChristyC..what a blessing your update is!! I've been enjoying my pool also, esp now that kids are back in school. It sounds like you're really putting your daily challenges in our Lord's hands. That's all he wants from us, then faith come seasy!! Will continue to remember you and everyone in my daily prayers!! God bless.
  5. Mind you I only have 3cc in a 10cc band. The only thing that bothers me is cereal, barely dampened with milk. Feels like it gets stuck in my throat all the time, so I've about given up on cereal. Now, my PA who does my fills keeps assuring me that once I reach 4-6cc's in my band, potatoes, pasta and bread will more than likely be a no go for me. For now, I have no problem wiht them to include eggs, cx and steak! As far as doing without any foods, bread will be my most missed companion!!
  6. Yes, Thank you, jack for reminding us! i've been getting those bottomless pits about every 4wks so your tidbit will help remind me. I have GOT to learn and recognize my new signs of "satiety"...txs again!
  7. I don't feel anything. Matter of fact, I had to ask if he was done last time :smile2:
  8. How about being able to towel dry IN the shower without banging the walls!!!
  9. We celebrated our parent's 50th wedd anniv last night at the church I grew up in. Everyone last saw me just a week after my banding. I was so proud of all the "you look greats" I got last night. My uncle couldn't believe the new me. He whispered, "you look sexy!" Today at church, I wore a size 16 dress. One lady sitting behind me tapped my shoulder, "girl, you're looking great. And I love your new dress." I had to be honest and tell her it was an old dress, one I could finally get back into!!
  10. My bug is having "daymares" that I will start to regain this all back, only because I have in the past. It's a wonderful feeling knowing I have this tool now to stop me!
  11. PTL all went well for you, TuTu. may God continue to heal!
  12. I think no fill so far is great! It only means your giving your body more time to adjust to this slow change.
  13. Courtney Love is a rock star who denies being banded. Says it is all rumor.
  14. I would go back to liqs then mushies for a day or two. If still trouble, check on having just 0.2cc remov'd. Once you get this corrected, then you'll be ready to get back on track. Then make sure you're getting in enough protein, limit carbs, lots of green veggies. Even yellow and orange ones will give you the missed starch carbs from white potatoes and rice.
  15. ToTo, welcome aboard and God bless you thru your journey!! We shall prevail!!
  16. I'm almost 4mos post and doing great! My toughest was the 3wks after just from the shoulder gas pains. My doc follows the same post-op diet for his by-passers so that helped me with junk food/sweet food cravings. And as mentioned before, the temptation comes from the devil himself so God gave me the power to overcome it. I'm at 2 fills now. I never got really hungry/famished until day or two before the fills. And I honestly owe that to my head!! God has really shown me that this is ok with him and He continues to provide me with the strength and courage to go on each day at a time. I still enjoy my sweets once in a while. No certain foods bother me yet but cereal (sticks to my tummy). As you can see, my weight loss has been good so I'm still looking forward to what God has in store for me! All He wants is us to give it to him. He knows we'll struggle from time to time, that's why he never leaves us alone! God bless and keep us informed of your progress.
  17. I'm 40, two kids, 11 and 13...and feel much better than I did at 30!!!!!!!
  18. My ticker says it all for me!!!!
  19. We never really know what danger we put ourselves in until we actually do it. Just please be sure to do enough researching with which ever surgeon you decide to go with! God bless you thru your journey together!
  20. I had my 2nd fill last Tuesday. Since my PA said it usually takes 4-6cc's in a 10cc band, I thought I'd be fine after my 1cc fill for a total of 3cc's. It could be my stomach's still a little swollen since only 4days ago, But boy, I LUV this feeling I'm getting right now. All PRAISES to my KING!! I can hardly get 1/2cup in before I actually have a full/satisfied feeling!! And it's lasting til time to eat again. I pray this goes on for next 9wks, before my next scheduled fill..."IF I need it" per my PA's words.....
  21. Phyl, you are doing so great! Your before and after pics really inspire me!! Congrats on your anniversary. I'm giving my parents their 50th next weekend! God has truely blessed their marraige. I have that card to for the restaurants. But as mentioned, kids menus are always starch related, like their school lunches. I eat out 2-3 times per wk and have had no problems ordering off appetizer or sharing with my daughter. Last night we tried a new place for our family dinner out. DH shared his Mongolian beef with me. My praise is that since my 2nd fill (now 3cc's in a 10cc band), I can barely get 1/2cup down!! Granted I'm only 4days post fill, I ask the Lord to allow this to linger a while. My next fill is 9wks out. Keep me in your prayers for His strength in this. God bless all!
  22. Farm, prayers to you as well. My God give you the strength and peace of understanding as you go thru all of this. Do keep us updated.
  23. Tutornmom, may God's healing and blessing be upon you! One week away, will be here and gone before you know it!! God bless,
  24. I had my 2nd fill today. 1cc this time for total of 3cc in 10cc band. My PA told me based on 10cc band, average amt for the sweet spot he's seen is around 6cc. My doc goes slow with fills. I had 1st 6wks post-op, 2nd another 6wks. Now I go 9wks until 3rd fill. Anyways...this fill today was much easier on me than my 1st. Guess it helped to know what to expect this time-LOL! I drank my water afterwards, no problems. Drove home but stopped by Wally-World for my clear liqs. Got out, walked in, then all of a sudden I got really dizzy. I had to sit for a while for it to pass. Now that I'm home, drinking my clear liqs, my usual 3 good sips are making me nauseous along with that "lump" feeling in my throat. No too bad so I can tolerate still drinking, just slow. I'll be curious to see how tomorrow goes. It's only been 3hrs since the fill.
