    Unjury shipping?

It came today as promised. I tried the chicken soup flavor and.... I really liked it! It may be because I have been on Opti-fast for 5 days, so anything not sweet would be good right now. I will let you know what I think about the unflavored as soon as I try it. As of now, I would reorder the chicken.

    Unjury shipping?

I just ordered some Unjury from their web-site and I couldn't find any shipping info. My surgery is on Monday the 14th and I live in Indiana. How long did it take to get yours? I will be on clear liquids for awhile and I will need the unflavored by Tuesday. Should I find something else to get me by, or do you think it will make it here in time? Thanks for the help! -Chelle

    Unjury shipping?

    Thank you!
  5. I don't know if they are all the same, but I have BCBS FEP (basic) in Indiana and I just have to pay a $40 co-pay total for an out-patient lap-band.

    How Often Did You Call?

You may want to ask your insurance how long it takes to get approval. Mine told me 21 days, so I called on day 7 or so and they had already mailed my paperwork. I have always heard the squeaky wheel gets the oil- let them hear ya! Good luck!

    July Butterflies Master Thread

I'm from Fort Wayne, IN, am a SAHM of 2 boys ages 8 and 5, and have been married for almost 10 years. I was always overweight and larger than most of my peers while in school and gained steadily after getting married. I always told myself "I can lose the weight, I just need to do it before I turn 30, it will get much harder then." Well I am now 31 and as hard as I tried, I never lost much on my own. I am really excited about this opportunity I have been given and I plan to make the most of it! I have a 1 week opti-fast diet and will be banded on July 14th! It is really great to meet all of you and I look forward to going on this journey together. Dream it, believe it, work it, achieve it!
  9. I wouldn't go so far as to call this offensive, but I do have to ask- What is the point and what does it matter to you?:confused2: I may be way off here, but when I read this "rant" I got the impression the OP doesn't feel like lower BMI's deserve WLS. I am very unhappy with my weight as it is now and thank God every day for the fact I didn't wait to be 300 or 400 plus pounds. I am so excited for all of us here, this choice we have made and the opportunity we will hopefully all be given to make our lives better in some ways. Like someone else said before- Live and let live!

    Questions/concerns

I have also heard the those stats are from the US FDA trials several years ago. The placement of the band is now better and the Drs. know a lot more than they used to. I bet the numbers would look better today.
  13. That is wonderful news! As far as insurance goes, I have had no problems with BCBS FEP. I hope it goes as smoothly for you! Please keep us up on your progress!
  14. Way to go! 10 pounds in 3 weeks is great! I hope you find continued success in the method that is most comfortable for you! Keep up the good work!
  15. That's too bad pennyllane. Yes, things can and do go wrong for a few people, but if you read this site and nation wide stats, I think you will find that the vast majority of people have found great success. I can't wait to be one of them!!! Good luck in your decision!
  16. I'm by no means an expert, but it sounds like you may be to tight. If it hurts and you have to eat easy food, you may need to be unfilled. It sounds like your mind is already made up to have it removed. That is your choice. I am not trying to attack you here, I would just like more info. But have you really given it a good try? When have you last seen your dr? I have no doubt that your job is physical, but if you are eating too many calories, a walk durning your lunch may not be near enough. I'm sorry that you are not happy and I do not wear rose colored band glasses, but your approach to tell people of your bad experences was pretty bad. I'm sure if you think back to before you were banded and made the decision to do this, you would of blown off a post like yours too. Honestly, you haven't even made me doubt MY decision to be banded for even a second. Best of luck to you, I hope you get relief soon. -Chelle
  17. Look at it this way, how would you feel if someone was trying to talk you out of lap-band because of all the risks? I'm sure they have researched the options and have made the decision that is right for them. Support what ever decision they have made and only offer your opinion if asked. There are a lot of people out there that "can't get over the fact that people would actually want to choose" a wls to begin with. Let them be.
  18. I can't speak about your dr, but I also have BCBS FEP. My BMI and co-mos were very similar to yours. I wasn't required to do sleep study for them. I was told by 3 different people at BCBS that you have to have a BMI of 40 or a BMI of 35 with a co-mo. My PCP sent a letter of medical necc, a refferal to surg, I then had my psych eval. Surg office sent to insurance and I had approval within 2 weeks. Make sure the surg and facility are in network. Because mine are, I was informed I will have a $40 co-pay- THAT'S ALL!!! The most important thing to remember is that this was my experence so far, yours may be a lot different. Each office does things a little differently. I would agree with others, if communitation is hard with your surg office, you may want to keep shopping or at the very least, tell them your feelings. See how they react to that, then decide. Good luck to you, I know this part can be very frustrating!

    Who's Getting Banded in July?

I just got a call from my Drs. office- they had a cancellation and can move me from July 29th to July 14th! Less than a month now for me!

    I'm slow but I'm dumb...

I don't really have anything to add, as I have not been banded yet, but just had to say how much I enjoyed reading your post! I'm happy that you are feeling better and I am really looking forward to reading more from you. Your humor, that I hope was intentional- I'd feel really bad for giggling at your pain- is great! Keep it up and I'm sure you will be feeling like new in no time! Thanks again for the best post I've read in awhile! Good Luck!!!

    Web sites

I think it would be great to have a running list of sites you have found helpful for various reasons. I have seen a few in different threads here and there, I always think- Hey, I would like to check that out! And then after an hour- I forget the name and have a hard time finding the thread again. Thanks- Chelle

    Who's Getting Banded in July?

What about "Shrinking Sparklers" or " '08 Freedom Finders", I love the 4th of July and I think it would be great to use it as a theme.
  23. Feeling so big in my DH arms. Not being able to wear my wedding ring. Being embarrased for my DH for having a fat wife. Always praying I will not be the only fat one when we meet new people. Being hungary every hour or two. Having to struggle to get out of a chair or off the floor. Being afraid I will bust through the trampoline. Ugly underwear. Getting out of breath and heartburn from bending to pick something up or tie my shoes. Not having energy Hating myself
  24. For those of you that are not telling everyone you are getting or already have the Lap-Band, what did you tell people the surgery was for? Most people will not even know I will be having surgery of anykind, but I will have to tell a few something- like the mom of the girl I babysit for, I will have to tell her to find someone else for a few days or so, she lives close by, so I can't just tell her I am going to be out of town. I have always felt the need to explain myself and I'm too passive to tell her it's none of her business. What did you tell your boss, I guess is my general question? Thanks- Chelle

    Keeping it a secret

That's perfect! I hate lying, but I also don't want to hear everyone's opinions either! Thanks- Chelle
