  1. Sorry for such a late response to this! I set my notification to completely off and haven't looked... I'm actually doing really well now. A surprising turn from where I was before. I can eat anything I want though choose not to... and drinking has become very easy, although I'm finding it easier when drinking with a straw which I know for some is a big no no! Lol I'm now seeing a personal trainer 3 times a week and I'm really excited to start seeing those results . I've currently lost 75 lbs total and I'm 3months out from my surgery. Thanks so much for your advice! This forum site really has helped me get through that depression and I've come out on the other side a much happier person and I owe it all to everyone on here and reading their encouraging stories. You all are my Angels! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. The one on the left is before at 350 and the right are from this week at 275 and I am 14 weeks out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  5. Today my scale read 298. I wanted to cry with happiness! I haven't been this light for 6 years. I don't even know how to feel about it. HW- 350 SW- 334 CW- 298 I've lost a total of 52 pounds in 8 weeks. I'm 6 weeks post surgery and even though it has been a rough journey it feels like life is starting to come together. I'm learning more every day and I've gotten through my first stall. I'm starting to see why people say this was the best decision they ever made. As I'm not fully there yet, I hope one day I am. My main goal for this post was because when things were super tough I needed to see the success people were achieving. I want to help inspire. I want you to know you're not alone and even though each of our journeys are our own, you have more support here than you realize. And hopefully I will never see a 3 on my scale again.
  6. I had surgery Oct 24 and was 334 day of surgery. I've been stalled at 303 for the last week. I want to ditch the 300s so bad! Everyone keep up the good work, it is truly inspiring! Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  7. My surgery weight was 334. I can honestly say you just gave me the hope I needed, that I can do this as well. Thank you! Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  8. I was sleeved on 10-24 and I have had a rough go but things now seem to be getting better, but I completely understand about the paranoia. I was losing weight every day and then for the this week I've been stuck. My brain just can't wrap around the whole fact that I am eating basically nothing and I'm not losing weight? It has me thinking I'm doing this wrong or that this isn't going to work for me and I took the biggest gamble of my life and it's not going to pay off. I totally feel you! 11. My plan says that I should be on full textured foods. I was sleeved on 10-24. I feel like I can barely make the pureed food work. Every time I eat I feel like I have a block in my throat and the only way I can feel better is to throw up. I'm not getting my Protein in because I can barely stomach it in any capacity. Blending Protein powder into my food makes me want to throw up, sipping on Protein drinks makes me want to throw up and I still can't get in 64 oz of liquid a day. I really don't know how anyone can get in the food that people say they can consume. I feel defective. Has anyone had this much trouble or do you think there is something wrong with me? 15. I had my surgery done in Deerfield Beach... I think I might have an issue and was told to go to a hospital that specializes in bariatrics. I was wondering if anyone knows which hospitals around Tampa specialize in bariatrics? I think I remember something about Mease Dunedin or Tampa Gen? Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  16. The plan that my work has does not include any type of weight loss surgery. It was just the level of coverage that we were offered. But my employer was really awesome and paid for half of my surgery. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  17. I have Aetna through work and I was not approved for them to pay for my surgery. I think it all just depends on what type of plan you have. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

  23. Did you see Dr Shillingford? Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App Sorry I'm still trying to figure out how to reply to people. Yes, Dr Shillingford did my surgery on 10-24. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App I have a consultation in Orlando on Nov 10, but if too high (I think they charge ~15k), I may go to Boca Sent from my SM-G920V using the BariatricPal App I can only speak for my experience with Dr Shillingford and his office but they did everything to make my life easier. I had an initial phone consult with Nancy and she schedule a phone consult with Dr Shillingford. I did my two week pre op diet and the Friday before my surgery I went down and had an appointment with the Dr just to meet him and his staff and go over any questions/concerns I had. I went and did my pre op lab work the same day and then on Monday I had my surgery. They made it very convenient to only have to drive down once. His staff Nancy and Elba are amazing. I can email them and I know I'll get an answer within a few hours. They are super kind and knowledgeable. Also depending on if you go down on the right weekend. A woman from the hospital does a seminar on Saturdays. She goes over everything to expect. Unfortunately I went on a weekend that she didn't have class... the great thing is that she came to my hospital room and sat down with my husband and myself and went over everything. The hospital is good. The bariatric staff was really nice and took really good care of me. Bariatric patients have their own wing and everyone gets their own room. Also visiting hours are 24/7 so if someone is accompanying you, they can stay in the hospital with you and you don't have to pay for a room at a hotel if your budget conscious. Anyway that's enough ranting for now. If you have any questions please message me, I'm most certainly happy to talk with you about the Dr and what to expect with him!
