It's been six months and no surprises. I'm very happy with the way Wellmark pays. Good luck and for me lap band surgery was the best thing I've did In six months I've lost 70 lbs and feel great. I recommend you start a vigorous exercise program and stick with it.

I was banded June 9th was up and walking about 2 hours after the recovery room. Little are no plain some discomfort. The port is a little above and to the right side of my belly bottom. I was on a high protein low card diet two weeks before surgery. After I was home It was a clear liquids for 48 hours, then full liquids for two weeks. IF you use Genesis, which I highly recommend, you will meet with the dietitian three times before surgery and she will lay out a plan for you. The important thing is to follow it. I work part time as a Citibus driver so I was off the week of my surgery and went back my next schedule work day on Wednesday. If you have any other question I'll try and answer them. Good luck

I was approved about two weeks after the letter was send to Blue Cross, I had all the test and meet with the psychiatrist. The staff at Genesis, is great and will help you with every step.

I have Fed Wellmark Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Iowa. Didn't have any problems getting approved.

Had surgery on June 9th have did a lots of walking even in the hospital, gas is slowing going a way. The more I walk more gas I pass to bad I can't bottle it and sell it.

It's finally over!!! 14 hours after the surgery I'm sitting in my hospital room typing this and watching tv. Haven't had any pain, but feel bloated. Meals have been exciting a eighth of a cup of jello and juice a cup of broth and a decaf coffee, I was surprised it took so long to drink it all. In short everything is going good and looking forward to a bright future.

My surgery is set for 7:30 am have to be at the hospital at 5:30. The real test is getting up that early without any coffee.

I've been reading this forum for about 8 months and started the long process 4 months ago. Just return from the clinic with my date of June 9. Dr David Aanestad of Genesis Medical Center Surgical Group will be my surgeon. I've learned a lots form this forum and look forward to using it in the future for guidance:thumbup: Just Bob
