  1. Hi Sonriose, Are you still taking the pain meds the surgeon gave you? I know THAT is what made me nauseous. Once I stopped those I did much better. If you're unable to even sip Water you REALLY need to contact your surgeon. You may be becoming dehydrated. You're tired from your surgery and of course not being able to get anything down. Please call your surgeon!
  2. Happy Birthday Randy! Hope all is going well and you have a WONDERFUL Birthday!
  3. Cheryl you should talk to your surgeon before your fill. If you're in pain now it will only get worse after your fill. You need to slow down eating so you can feel the sign of getting full. It's not good for you to get that pain every day. It seems like it takes a long time for us to change our old eating habits. Eating slow, chewing well, taking time between bites takes time to change after years of bad habits. I know I only get that feeling when I eat too fast and don't chew it well enough. Good luck with everything! You're doing well
  4. Just had the gown on. Can't wear underwear because you wake up with a catheder (spelling?).
  5. I saw the Magic Bullet at BJs Wholesale Club today. I think the whole kit was pretty cheap. You might want to check that out. I have a personal blender by Oster that actually makes the drinks in a travel mug. Great for making your protein shakes w/ice. It crushes them fine. It comes with a travel cover too. I got mine at Lowes for about $20. I also have a stick blender that helps puree soups and stuff right in the pot. I think that is a Hamilton and it was about $12 at Walmart. That too will crush ice in a cup.
  6. Hey Chris...I'm glad you found my pals here. You'll love em and don't be afraid to ask any questions here. These gals are the best...oh and guys The guys are a quiet few but, the pop in once in a while...right guys? NJ Chat friends...Chrispy is my friend Chris. What a great gal she is. She was one of the benefits of meeting my DH Love her to pieces...she's more of a sister to me than my own blood. She's starting on her band journey and her mom, after hearing Chris talk about is joining the journey as well. I think it's awesome! Now if they have their surgery on the same day wouldn't that be cool?! Before and after pic..UGH. My before shot my DH took at 4:30am the day of surgery. In one shot I was blinking and look like I'm on drugs hahaha. I haven't taken an after shot yet.....I wonder if it's just me but, let me say....I'm still afraid to look. I know I'm still heavy, I still have so much more to lose. Not too long ago I sat in a chair next to a window, saw my reflection and was totally disgusted. Who the hell is that lady in the window? I feel so much smaller than I look. I always have..that was my problem until I tried on clothes then reality would hit. I'm still going through that, I'm wearing pants that are just TOO big but, I'm afraid to buy smaller. When I did try, Chris you were there, I got discouraged because the new pants didn't fit and they were a size smaller than what I had on. I know I know different maker different sizes but, I just got discouraged. I'm just not ready to look at reality yet. I know I've dropped from a size 26 to a size 20 in the same brand jeans but, I still don't feel like I wanna look. I still have that spare tire that sticks out and reminds me I have so far to go. UGH. I know I've done well.....but....well....maybe when I hit 50 pounds I'll take one then lol. Soooo we brought home the new puppy. Yeap...we stayed for a while so my Jenny (1 year old Golden) could play and let him know who's the boss lol. When we saw they would get along we took him home. Of course Jenny let him know which kennel was hers lol. He, Jake, is actually in his kennel sleepin now and Jenny keeps going to check on him...it's so cute. She's being a good big sister..wait until he grows up. Whew he's going to be a big one..he's already got paws her size heh heh.
  7. my nutrionist also said avoid gum. She mentioned it could get stuck if swallowed but, their main concern was it causes air to get in your pouch. Much like using a straw. To be honest I do chew gum and I do use a straw with my ice coffee on the road. I've been fine with both although I can't chew gum after eating. I usually do these things with an empty stomach and I'm ok.
  8. Aaa the infamous unbalanced deposit day. Well, the employee just didn't get it. I gave her back the deposit and told her to find the error. She couldn't, she gave up and the accountant wasted a whole day trying to figure out what the hell was done. The main part being, you can't close a posting batch if the figures don't match unless you change the figures. They employee said she didn't change the figures, I tried to tell her there is no way they'd close unless she did. She then tells me "You don't understand what I'm saying" She then proceeds to tell me she didn't change the figure. Now....I'm a very patient person, it takes ALOT to get me upset. This chick....she got me upset and I kept my cool but, was on the verge of losing it by the time I was done. She litterally was stating she did it right and that it was me that "didn't get what she was saying". Oooooooooook missy, I've been doing this line of work for 19 years. I did her job full time for 4 years. I ended up saying "I'm telling you you can't close a batch without it being balanced. You're day isn't balance, so you changed the figures! PERIOD!" Hard to explain to you all if you haven't done this kind of work but, man oh man it's really not that hard lol. I found out later she asked fellow employees (who of course told me lol) I don't know how to take the fact that Sherry yelled at me. HELLO? How about taking it as you better look at how you're doing your work and shape up. UGH Even the other employees said...wow Sherry yelled? lol Anywho...the accountant found it and believe me the girls work is being looked at daily by the accountant because we have to balance the books at the end of the month and she's worried. By the way...this employee has been with me 6 months, through 6 closings and NOW this is happening? Something isn't right lol Ok back to work for me.....after loosing two days on this girls mistakes I need to catch up on my own work grrrrr. on another note.....puppy has a grade 1 murmur so he's good to go. What the heck am I doing to myself lol. I just had a thought...traveling with one dog is tough but, what do i do with two? oh my, need to think of this before I sign on the dotted line. But he's soooo dang cute lol
  9. Good morning my friends, It's raining again in my lovely city of Taunton, Massachusetts. Now...why can't someone invent a huge fan that blows these rain clouds to places that need them? I mean we're drowning up here and the sun just peeks out enough to tease us :phanvan . Well...at least I don't have to Water the plants :guess I just need to catch them as they're sliding down the drive-way into the street Not much happening here. I'm kinda back and forth on the restriction thing right now. I skipped the fill my last doc visit and now I'm not sure I should of. Seems my band decided I can eat what I want...except chinese food yesterday lol. Two bites and stuck for the afternoon. Definately a finicky band. Not much going on today. DH is at work fixing the company's server...I have to do work from home today so that I can make sure the project gets done by the end of the month. I guess it's ok it's raining today because of that. I'd be upset if it were nice out and I had to stay in. I'm also waiting to hear from the petstore where I got my Golden Jenny. We went there to get stuff for the fish tank (by the way I can see my fish again lol) and they had Golden puppies in the window. I couldn't resist....walked over to it and this one puppy came running over to me. Awwwww dang nabbit...he stole my heart. DH loved him too. We took him to the play area and just followed DH everywhere. The size of his rolly polly belly and paws..this guy was going to be a big Golden compared to my Jenny. Jenny is the perfect little lady lol. She's small for a golden. Well I almost bought the male pup but, they had him on hold because of a heart murmur. The vet wanted to check him again. They said if it's bad they'll just try to place him, if it's a 1 or 2? they'll guarantee him, if its a 3 or 4 they sell him regular. He's being checked today and they're going to let us know whats going on with him. DH and I talked it over...we want him even if his heart is bad because we know we can give him a good life for as long as we have him. Not sure what I'm getting myself into but, I swear something tells me this was suppose to happen. I can't explain it. I guess we'll see what happens. Betty - I sure hope you're doing ok. Know that I'm thinking of ya. Eileen - Do you think we can figure out a way to send this rain to the people that need it? I hope you're pool is ready next weekend for ya. I know I've been enjoying ours. Cept.....can't the last few days unless I like cold raindrops on my back lol Cindy - Hope you did ok with your eye exam and you enjoyed your show. Patty - Glad your doing ok and I'm sure you'll be getting that date really soon. Is your Ex taking the kids while you heal up from surgery? Darcy - Geesh girl...how do the fix what it is that's ailing you? Any idea what needs to be done to get you feeling fine and dandy again? Donna - Did you say you wanted some of our rain? I can bottle ya some and ship it hee hee Love you too. When ya come up to Boston again maybe we can meet. That would be fun! Mary - That story was so precious. I just love the things kids do. What a sticky mess that must of been hahaha Bean - Singing Kareoke huh? Ohh I've never been brave enough for that. DH used to do that when he was at the local water hole with friends but, I never had the chance to hear him. I've asked him several times to go with me so I could hear him sing but, haven't gotten him to do that lol. Actually I thought he was going to at my 40th bday party because he took the mike from the DJ but, .... it was a marriage proposal. Kat - You're right sometimes it's more than a golfball. Two bites of my lunch yesterday and I swear the slime built up until it was in my throat and my chest hurt so bad. Geesh! Definately its a chewing thing though...so much we need to learn isn't there lol Hope DH is hanging in there and I'm keeping you both in my prayers. Trish - Thanks for poppin in. Hope all is going well and come back again ya hear? Anne - You doing ok? Hmmm haven't heard from ya since you had 7 kiddos at your place. Ohhh my. Did Calgon take you away? Dianne - How are you doing? I'm going by memory here which urrrrr isn't too good lately lol. I do hope you're doing well. Anyone I missed......I didn't have my Gingo Bibula today lol Have a great day everyone!
  10. There ya go Sunsett
  11. hi everyone...DH is snoring so I can't sleep yet lol. Man terrible thunder and lightening storms we had just a bit ago. It looked like daylight out there sometimes. Been under alot of pressure at work lately. Now today find out that the person posting the cash changed the figures and didn't balance correctly for the month of May. What the hell was she thinkin? That's the #1 priority of a cash poster is to balance the deposit. grrrrrrrrr. Now I gotta yell at someone and I just hate that. Not a mean boss at all but, a little common sense would be lovely on her part. No questions were asked...she just did it. Like no one would find out? Patients getting bills when they paid, bank deposit not matching the money posted grrrrr big mess as you can probably gather. Too boot, I was sent to a meeting that had nothing to do with my job. 5 hours wasted when I have a HUGE project due by the end of the week with 5 others that need to be done after that. I just don't know if I'm coming or going. Now responsible for 14 people, we're gaining new MDs in July and then more in August. I love the account but, WHEW there is a ton of work. I'm hoping they re-organize my area and move me up a knotch to manager and give me supervisors under me. I had that before I came to this job and it worked so much better. There is just too much for one person to organize...best to break it up under separate people with one organizer over them. We'll see what happens. My friend Chris has started the process for Lap-band. I told her about our thread and to come say hello sometime. She's been reading up on the threads in LBT and has really gain alot of knowledge. The gal with the dead stomach scared the bageebers out of her but, she talked it over at our docs info session and felt much better. She's a great gal...you'll all like her if she stops by and you get to meet her. I can't do personals tonight....going cross-eyed but, not tired enough to sleep. hmmm maybe I"m over tired but too stressed to sleep. More like it hahaha. Anything new going on out there? Oh I had a NSV today. When I came back from my "boring" meeting the gal in the office that does the verification for employment called me to her office. She told me she was checking out peoples records and came across mine. She said "Geezzzzz girl you need to do an after picture." I'm like umm what? She said she looked the pic on my license and didn't recognize me that I should do another picture lol. She congratulated me on how well I've done. To think I had no clue what she ment I thought she saw my before pictures I took on surgery morning hahahah. I'm like how the hell did she get ahold of them, I have them at home stashed away. I'm not ready to even have someone see them lol. That's when she told me of the license lol. Oh yea I'm stuck with that pic for another 4 years lol. Although....it's a good reminder of where I started Oh well....time to surf the threads and see if I can help out anywhere. Hugs to you all.
  12. Have you talked to your bariatric center or surgeon? I would think they would of told you if they require you to go on a pre-op diet. My surgeon wanted me to lose 10 pounds if possible before the surgery because it helps to shrink your liver, he said. The day before I couldn't have anything solid to eat after noon time. I had to drink liquids and a protein shake for dinner. Nothing to eat the day of surgery either.
  13. Did anyone know that a weanis is actually the skin on your elbow? hahaha My son called it his peepee. I can't say he went through the holding stage...at least I can't remember it but, he's 16 now and I REALLY don't wanna know if he's doing it now hahaha
  14. For me a nice med done steak goes down very well. Better than chicken. The only thing my stomach just doesn't want as far as meat is pork like pork chops. I am able to eat sausage though...go figure lol. Just go slow, chew it well and wait a few before eating more. See if it stays down Good luck!
  15. Isn't that aggravating? I mean the folks that need and want to exercise can't get the equipment they want at a reasonable price. I know when I looked at certain equipment I wanted the weight limit was rediculously low. I ended up with a NordicTrack stationary bike and going to curves for the resistance training. Good luck with your search and congrats on making the exercise a priority.
  16. Poodles, you may be scheduled for a fill but, I would assume your surgeon is going to ask you how your hunger has been, if you've been able to eat, if you've had any problems etc and determine then if you need a fill or not based on all that and weight loss. I just went for my 3rd scheduled visit after surgery of which included a fill if I needed it. The surgeon and I determined I shouldn't get one this time but, if I do feel after a few weeks I could use one because I'm becoming hungry or struggling in between meals I could get one then. I'm happy with that decision. Be honest with your surgeon of how your eating is going and you'll both make the correct decision for you.
  17. Sparkey..these are questions you should ask your surgeon especially since you had additional surgery besides the band. I know I wasn't able to get up and move around like that my first day. My doc said to take it easy. I definately couldn't get back to work right away, I needed that week off and I have a sit down job. I can tell you it took me about 2 weeks to feel back to normal but, I went back to work after 1. There was one area that was painful, the top (my) left side surgery wound. My surgeon said that's because thats the hole they used for most of the manuvering of the band around my stomach etc. That took about 6 weeks to completely go away. I was able to sip water right after surgery. If you did too much too soon maybe you caused swelling to go up a bit more causing the liquid not to go down? Definately call your MD.
  18. Hi Sherri, I definately know what you're going through. If that wasn't happening to you at least a bit, then there would be something wrong. I don't think there are many bandsters out there that hasn't gone through this. Just so you know.....you go through stuff after the band is on and the surgery is healing. I know I asked myself what the heck did I just do to myself and started bawling then too. It did get better and I'm VERY happy with my decision and how I'm doing so far. There are ups and downs about every decision we make when it comes to trying to lose weight and even other decisions with life itself. You've done your research, you've tried in the past to diet and you came to this decision for a reason...take it one day at a time, ease up on yourself and let DH know whats going through you mind. If they aren't banded and especially if they haven't had to fight the weight problem themselves, they can't possibly understand what we're going through unless you let them know. Whether or not he understands after you talk to him...I do not know...but at least you got it out in the open so you can feel better. Hugs to you!
  19. Eileen - Wahoooo on the weightloss. Congrats! Onederland is right around the corner for you  Keep it going baby! I'm a routing for ya! Darcy - So sorry about your pup. Do they know what's causing all this? (I may of missed it if you told us.) I never thought I'd get so close to an animal myself but, Jenny (our golden retriever) is a year old and I found myself singing happy birthday to her lol. She's a cutey but, man the fur. I'm always asking her why doesn't she pick up her fur off the floor lol. I hope your puppy gets better and stays better. Poor thing. Ohh the people watching was a blast and I hope to do it again next year. Funny part is...hearing the guys comment about it. The nasty girls the guys say OH God I won't be able to eat for a week now seeing that yuck. Of course a few hotties it was oh yea baby I could do her. Freaking NASTY I'm telling ya. I'll stick with my jeans, tshirt and baseball cap to hide the helmet head lol. Cindy - I used to post a few things on Ebay. It was pretty good except I hated Ebay/Paypal being attached to my checking acct. Have you had any problems with it? I'm thinking about doing it again because I have a tendency just to give stuff away and really....I could probably make some money with it. Amazing what sells on Ebay. Heck I've bought tons of stuff through there but, selling...I'm always afraid of the buyers that will give me trouble. Have you had any of that? Well....we still have a green fishtank. You can see the fish but, they are swimming in murky waters lol. What a mess, DH is right now taking out all the rocks on the bottom to wash them because even after bringing water to the pet store and having it tested, doing what they said, it's still not clean. DH had enough, he feels the Zebra Tetras are too aggressive and causing too much poopies so they're going byebye. What a cleanup mess I'm going to have. ewww Each scoop of rocks is leaving a trail on the rug grrrrrrr. Why not put down plastic before doing that...guess that's a woman's way of thinking versus a guys aye? Oh well....it was started before I knew it was happening. Hopefully this will solve the problem. Would be nice to relax watching the fish again and actually being able to see them. wahhhahahah Hope you have a wonderful day!
  20. Back from Laconia with a nice sunburn on my chest lol. OMG the sites you see when you people watch there hahaha. There was one chick that thought (Mind you I said 'SHE THOUGHT') she was the cat's meow. She had on a bikini top, black leather chaps and get this....a G string with her ars hanging out of the chaps and not much covering her frontal area.EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW! Oh yes folks...she thought she was hot. She was hanging onto her (I'm guessing) boyfriend or husband. MY GOD this woman was UGLY and to boot just didn't have the body to be wearing such a thing. I don't care if your the worlds highest paid model you don't wear that on the streets with seeing people lol. Gaaaaaarosssssssssssss. Two other women had just about the same but, they wore something more downstairs. Then there were pierced nipple dudes, studly looking fellas and then those fellas that could of used a bath lol. Just amazing. There were THOUSANDS of bikes there. All shape, sizes, colors, styles amazing! It was alot more fun than I though but, I'll tell ya......My butt is glad I'm off that bike! lol So far today I've had two bites of a protein bar and the fish from a filet of fish from McD's. (I threw out the bread) That's it along with the equivalent of a bottle of water. I just SO didn't want to have to go pee while I was there lol. Port-a-Potties used by drunks and women who dressed like that...I DON'T THINK SO hahaha. So I'm off to watch a movie with my DH. DS is with his father this weekend so we have a little alone time  Hope you all have enjoyed your day today. HUGS!
  21. so many nice pictures. Thanks for sharing everyone!
  22. Banded in February so I wore a sweatshirt type material outfit. The pants had an elastic waist and were very comfy so the incisions didn't hurt. Don't wear anything tight fitting!
  23. Hello my friends, Dropping in for some hellos then hit the sack cause I gotta get up early. Going to Laconia Bike week in NH tomorrow. Gotta be at my aunt and uncles at 6am UGH. They live about 40 min away so I have to get up like I was going to work lol. Oh well. I'll be breaking in my arrrrs on the bike. The ride is going to take about 3 hours they tell me. Oh my...hope I'm up to this. Good thing the seat is a comfy one. Then on Sunday, Father's day, I'm having friends over for a cookout and some pool time. Suppose to be in the 90's here Sunday...so we'll see After all I live and New England and the weather changes in a minute. Cindy - Oh believe me I'm far from the perfect bandster...thats why when my doc said I was the poster child for banding I confessed to the handfuls of chips hahaha. Told they go down reallllllllllllllll smooth lol. He said "ok you've tarnished it" lol I said nope that's reality doc, if I tell myself I can't have em I'll eat the whole damn bag but, if I allow myself to have them once in a while a handful will do One day at a time is how I'm taking it and if I want a piece of chocolate, by golly I'm having it. I just make sure it's worth it....not junky, not worth it chocolate lol. Fortunately seeing the weight come off makes me not want it often. You're doing so very well yourself! Congrats on the shrinking :clap2: Now that VBS is over I hope you can relax a bit before the next project. Eileen - I just love your DD stories. You are a cutey patooty and you always make me smile. I'm like you, the needle didn't bother me it's the sucking out the saline and pushin it back in that I thought felt funny. Oh and when they take the needle out and your belly jiggles funny and you hear a funny noise. Can't even describe that sound but, it made me laugh. Anne - Oh my 7 kiddos. Holy daycare batman :bandit . Do you have kiddy games planned or something? Ages close enough that they all play together? God Bless you girl :Banane10: Patty - That's good news on the approval for the consult. Another hurdle met...you're getting there my friend. It will happen when the time is right for you :Banane09: Bean - Yardwork...hmmm can I hire you and DH to do my yard? Oh I'd love to have the flowers and gardens I've seen pics of here. I tried to get Betty and Pat to come visit Mass..you wanna come along too hee hee. We'll have a garden party cept......I stink at gardening so I'll have to provide the refreshments hee hee I'd send you some of this rain if I could because we certainly don't need it. Our rivers are overflowing, homes have water in the basements and there is just water everywhere. It dried up some today though. Mary - Bloodwork bothers you? Ihave a friend like that as well and she's looking into lapband now :Banane23: I told her she's going to have to put up with the needles for fills and bloodwork. She's still interested. I have terrible veins for them to use too. They roll or are so thin they have a hard time. I've had to have it taken from my hand a few times because they couldn't get a good one. YUCK. At BIDMC where I had my surgery...the lab has been great. I've had the same guy two times already and he's got a great aim hahaha. I tried to donate blood once I got turned away the next time they got me but, had to knead the bag to keep it coming. Took longer than other people but, I gave it. I have AB+ blood so it's rare and in need most of the time. Randi - Surgery is around the corner for you. I hope you've learned alot from our little group here and the LBT boards in general. I wish you the best with your upcoming surgery. Darcy - Did you have a good time at the picnic? I haven't been on one in ages. How are the palpitations today? I hope that gets better. Thinking of you. Betty - I hope you take it easy this weekend. Hope your headache and back are better too. Slow down girl......take a deep breath....ride your bike to Massachusetts heh heh. :Banane36: Pat - You doing ok? They keeping you tied down behind that desk? Come out and play girl...I miss ya and your witty replies heh heh I hope all is well. Kat - I'm thinking of you and your DH. Sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. Well....it's now 10:46pm and I better hit the sack. Have to go check on the Freecycle group I run here in Taunton,MA and try to :notagree . Aint gonna happen when I want it to. I can feel a night of restlessness coming UGH. If you haven't checked it out in your area....go to www.freecycle.org Great place to help you recycle good items you no longer need but, someone else may be able to use. It keeps things out of the landfills. Doesn't matter how small the item is...for instance tonight I offered some decorative muffin paper liners and a local church is picking them up. I just gave away a looney tune backpack, some shoes I bought for my wedding but, never used, some ink cartridges for an old printer I no longer have etc. No use to me but, was for those folks. Give it a whirl :Banane47: Hugs Sherry

  25. I can't eat until 10am. Usually I have a Med decaf ice coffee lite with equal. Then at 10am I have a one egg omelet made with about 1/4 cup shredded cheese. That's during the work week cause DH makes me the omelet to take with me. On weekends I have one egg sunny side up with turkey sausage. Sometimes my band will let me get a small amount of wheat toast in.
