  1. I'm having my surgery with Dr. Krause tomorrow, and I have told everyone at Beaumont that he looks like Niles Crane and they laugh every time. He really does!!
  2. OMG..... glad to see that I am not the only one that thinks that! They could be twins!
  3. I wish I had done the sleeve instead of the band. I know it works for a lot of people, but it just wasn't for me. I see so many people around me that have had the sleeve, and have phenomenal results!
  4. Hi Carol. I am from Michigan too. Who was your surgeon? I was banded in Oct 2008 by Dr Kevin Krause/Royal Oak Beaumont. Had a slippage in August 2013, so needed a revision for that. Now hoping I can do a conversion to the sleeve. Need to call his office tomorrow to get this all started again!
  5. Very happy for you! Congrats!! I too, am hoping for a revision to the sleeve. I got my band in 2008, then a revision due to slippage in 2013. Not sure if I will be able for the conversion to the sleeve. I want to be free of my band too!!
  6. Hi. I had my initial band surgery in 2008. Needed a revision due to a slippage in 2013. I am now hoping for a conversion to the sleeve. Has anyone ever had this done after a prior revision? Thanks.
  7. Mine was also non compliance. After a week of violent vomiting after the smallest bites of food or small sips of beverages, I realized I had a blockage from celery I had eaten for lunch... Ugghhh.... It was horrible. My surgeon removed fluid from my band and flushed the celery thru. I felt like a million bucks IMMEDIATELY!! Due to the vomiting for so long, he sent me for an upper GI. Sure enough, my band had slipped and also have abdominal prolapse. He removed all fluid from my band and I am scheduled for my repair on August 9. I was bummed because I feel like I was getting close to being in the "green zone" when this happened, but I am excited to restart my journey and play by the rules this time!! I hope everything turns out ok with your band!
  8. Dr. Krause in Royal Oak (Beaumont - 13 Mile rd./Woodward) and his entire staff are fantastic!! Not far at all from Pontiac.

  12. Congratulations Denise!!! That is fantastic!
  13. That is great!! My Dr just re-adjusted my thyroid meds too - hopefully that'll kick start some movement on the scale for both of us!!
  14. Definitely don't give up!! You are in ONEDERLAND Britney!!! That is fantastic - congratulations!!!
  15. That's fantastic Amanda!! Keep it up!!!
  16. I LOVE the Pandora charm idea!!! I think I will do that for every 10lbs and then something BIG when I make it to onderland!!!
  17. That's great Holly!!! I like it when I notice the difference in the way towels fit too!!" Haha! Keep up the good work!
  18. Well that's good that it wasn't painful then! You should notice a big difference with the 2 ( I think my surgeon only does them in 1 - 1.5 cc increments). I get so excited each time I schedule my next fill. Hopefully we will get it right soon!!!
  19. Congrats on your first fill!! It is exciting! And my surgeon does numb the area first before doing the actual fill. I go for my next fill in 2 weeks - can't wait!!
  20. Thanks for starting this Jen! I'm definitely in too!!
  21. Hi everyone! I am trying to get back on the right track with my band again (banded in October 2008. Until recently, last time I saw my surgeon for a follow up/fill was March 2009). I went back for my first return visit in November, and am going back for my 3rd tomorrow. I am excited to already see what a difference it is making. I recently heard the expression "It's like having a fast car, but not being able to drive it because you haven't put any gas in it" and makes total sense in relation to not utilizing my band. Anyway.... I am trying very hard to get back on track and want to incorporate different exercise as well as changes in my diet. Has anyone in the area done the C25K program? I never have been a runner, but this program really intrigues me. Running a 5K would be an awesome and attainable goal!! I am also looking for a support group in the area if anyone has information on that also. Thanks!

  23. Hi Debbie! I am also in the same boat. I was banded in October 2008 and basically got caught up in this thing called life, and never really dedicated myself to starting my journey. I hadn't been to my surgeon since March 2009, but went back to him in November, and have another appointment scheduled for Wednesday. (both him and his staff are extremely supportive!!) I am disappointed in myself for not making the most of it to begin with, but am excited to start fresh again! Best of luck to you - you got this!!
  24. I would be happy to take the jeans off of your hands if they are still available! Thanks! Donna
  25. Thanks Lori - I appreciate it! 8 months and you're down 73 lbs??? Good for you! That is great!! What do you do for exercise? I think I am going to give my body a week or so before I start - maybe treadmill or the bike at the YMCA to start ??
