Hi I'm 6 weeks post op from a gastric bypass and have started solids taking it slow but I feel like i can eat anything now which I feel has happened quite quick I thought it would take a lot longer so I'm scared that I'm not goin to lose any weight, im not eating loads on 3 meals per day with no snack maybe a fat free yogurt and I've started to exercise aswell. I've started to track my calorie intake and wondering what everyone eats I need healthy meal ideas and would like to know how many calories people are sticking to I'm thinkin maybe 800 or below is this ok xx Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

Ooh that cookbook looks good never thought to look for cookbooks but will get on eBay lol. I've tried omelette with spinach and mushrooms, Beef stew, chicken casserole both packed with veg, Chinese stir fry, jacket potatoes, Soup, and I'm goin to try tandori chickenmade fromfat free yogurt in a wholemeal pitta with some salad. Do these sound ok I do make sure I stick to low fat stuff and plenty of veg but what does everyone do about carbs I'm goin to measure everything aswell like we had to for the pre op diet I find it helps stay on track of calories aswell I think this is were the really hard work begins x Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

Had gastric bypass Nov 7th 2016

Hi everyone I'm 6 weeks post op from the uk. I'm so glad that I'm not the only one that still craves crap food as it does make me feel like I'm not goin to do this because I feel like there's something wrong with me to have this massive life changing gift but still have a fat mind, I think it's deffinatly a mental hurdle that we need to overcome and it is such a grueling routine of all the tablets drinkin enough and eating at the right time and the right foods when sometimes it feels impossible.I have kids too and sometimes I'm so busy that I skip meals without realising which is a bad habit to do but it's wt I did pre op. then I'm getting in to bad habits already of eating Crisps or chocolate because it doesn't hurt when it goes down which I feel is rediculous because I don't want to do this but I can't help myself and it makes me feel awful when I've eaten it it's not alot but it's still bad food.it would b so nice to b able to keep in touch with u all to support each other because sometimes ya just need to talk to someone in the same situation so ya know ya not goin crazy x Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App

  7. Thanku everyone for replying it helped knowing I wasn't the only one feeling this way. I'm as of today 6 weeks post op and doing much better it's been a struggle but since eating different food instead of liquid it's been much easier.i think it's because I just needed more solid foods than liquid.ive realised that it's a mental struggle that we have to overcome aswell and overcoming bad habits which I am doing slowly but surely taking it day by day but I'm determined to do it and feeling very good for the future I've lost 2 stone since surgery but 7 stone from the beginning of my journey still have abit to lose but I will do this and I hope everyone else succeeds with there journey xx Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App
  8. My Bariatric nurse said it was dumping syndrome and I've read somewhere that being dehydrated makes it worse but I can't stomach that much drink so don't know what to do. I think that's what I'm going through boredom of the soups I've tried so many different ones feel like I hate soup now lol but I start puree foods tomorrow so really hoping that helps a little x Sent from my SM-G920F using the BariatricPal App
