  1. Hello!! I'm Charity, I'm 22, a pediatric RN from St. Louis, currently in school as a Biology/PreMed major. Grew up in PA, but relocated here a few years ago. I've got a fantastic boyfriend who's going with me to Denver to have my surgery (Dr. Kirshenbaum). I have five siblings and am the third oldest, and the only chubby one! Can't WAIT to start my new life!
  2. Bea! I'm having surgery on 4/16 too! Good luck!
  3. Is anyone else getting ridiculously exciting? I can't even wait. I keep thinking - one month from today and I'll be starting a whole new chapter of my life. One month from today it'll all be over (surgery-wise!) and I'll be home and starting my new life!
  4. Good morning all! I'm being banded on April 16 in Denver CO. I'm a self-pay. I'll be heading from St. Louis to Denver on April 15 and will be spending the afternoon driving around (my flight gets in at 0730 and my appointment for pre-op isn't until 4:10!) and finding things to do. The next day, my surgery is scheduled at 11:00 a.m. Will anyone else be out at Dr. Kirshenbaum's those days? I am SO excited!
  5. Hi! I"m Charity, I'm 22 and also from St Louis! My lapband is scheduled for 4/16 in Denver with Dr. Kirshenbaum. If you'd like I'd love to meet someone from the area who's having/had it done! Moral support and all, you know! PS - I'm going back to school in the fall, where did you go?
  6. Nice to "meet" you. What are you thinking of doing about work? I've got lots of help, so I'm sure I won't have to lift, but my surgery date is a Wednesday and I'm thinking of going back to work on Thursday of the following week. I can't afford to take any more time than that - I'll have only been at my job for a month and a half once I have the surgery. I feel bad just asking for the time!
  7. Hi! My name is Charity, I'm a 22 year old pediatric RN. I'm going to be banded by Dr. Kirshenbaum on 4/16/08. I can't WAIT! It's going to be a bit of a trip, but my boyfriend is going with me. So excited!
  8. Congrats! I did the same thing - I recently decided to look into it, now I've got my funding, my pre-op date, and my surgery date. My boyfriend and I are going to book our hotel and flight tonight (Going to Denver to Dr. Kirshenbaum's office!). It's happening to quickly...I can't believe it! I can't wait! My BMI is 41, and I'm ready to really work. Good luck!
