    Richmond Kaiser?

@@krissyfattofab I'm hoping to meet him at my class on the 10th. Fingers crossed.

    Richmond Kaiser?

@@krissyfattofab Dr. Baggs isn't working that day. Guess I have bad luck cause Dr. Z did the same to me too and I had to reschedule. I can't really reschedule the surgery as I already have time off from work and my family is flying in. Hopefully there areno other changes from here.

    Richmond Kaiser?

Well my surgeon got switched on me. Anyone have any experience with Dr. Im?

    Richmond Kaiser?

I'm having the sleeve too. I scheduled my surgery last week. Jan 30th. I'm so excited. My work schedule has been held and I have preop class on the 10th.
  6. Hi @@SweetyShetty1988! Depending on where you live the program is different. In SoCal there is a 12 week Options program and it is required. In NorCal, not everyone is required to go and the classes are 4 weeks long I believe. I wasn't required to go so maybe someone else can chime in. From orientation to surgery its about 2-3 months for NorCal if you meet goal weight quickly. Where do you live?
  7. @@kc13 Holy moly! That's a long day! I meet with Liz on Wed so that should be enough time for me to ask for a change in schedule. I don't want to use a PTO day since my days are tight because of the holidays.

    Richmond Kaiser?

Bummer @@shaylady08! I'm hoping for Feb so that I don't have to cancel patients. I've been working for a few years so I have lots of ESL to use.

    Richmond Kaiser?

Hi @@bubbz333! I'm hoping for Feb too!
  10. @@krissyfattofab Wow! Didn't realize I would have to take a whole day off of work. Shoot. Maybe I can work 4 tens that week. Thanks for the info!!
  11. @@krissyfattofab What time are the pre op classes held?
  12. Congrats @@krissyfattofab! I met with psych today and am 5 lbs over my goal weight loss! I'm waiting for Liz to call to schedule an appointment with her. So is 1/9 the week they are scheduling right now? Things are moving along so quickly! I'm starting to get excited!
  13. @@kc13 Hi Kasey! Did you get the DM I sent you? It was a while ago, but when I look at it I can't tell if it was sent.
  14. It is definitely covered here in California. You could ask for a referral from your PCP to the bariatric program and then talk with the case manager. They might be able to help with verifying coverage.
  15. This website has really cute ones. https://www.laurenshope.com/
  16. Does anyone know if everyone has to attend the Option classes? Or what the requirements are for them? I met with Dr. Baggs and have my psych appt at the end of the month. I'm at goal weight right now so I'm just focusing on continuing to lose.
  17. @@kc13 Hi yes!!! That's me! I really enjoyed hearing from everyone tonight. Puts things into perspective.
  18. @@krissyfattofab That's awesome! Bummer about psych. I had my appt scheduled in a week but they had to cancel so I switched the order to see Dr. Baggs first. They didn't have any appointments with Dr. Z until the end of the month. I'm looking forward to meeting with Dr. Baggs to see what my goal will be. I went to the Richmond support group tonight and it was nice getting to hear from some post op people.
  19. @@krissyfattofab That's a great idea. I've been tracking my meals but haven't journaled. Orangetheory is a HIIT workout. Half the class is cardio (treadmill, there is also a bike and elliptical for people who can't use the treadmill) and the other half is strength (rowing machine and weights). The goal is to get your heart rate in the "orange" zone. Then you burn calories 24-36 hours after the workout. It's super intense, but I love it. They have studios in Alameda, SF, Dublin, Walnut Creek, Marin They are opening ones in Berkeley, Emeryville, and Concord that I know of. There are probably more! It's all the rage right now. I have a bunch of friends who are members in FL, IL, and here in CA. First class is free too so you can try it out!
  20. @@krissyfattofab That's awesome!! Congrats! I think I'm only down about 2 pounds from last Friday. I forgot to weigh on Thur before the class. I do Orangetheory Fitness. It's a HIIT workout so super intense. I walk out with legs shaking and dripping in sweat. It's good to hear that people modified the diet and still lost weight. I worry about not eating enough when I'm doing a workout that burns 500+ calories. You are lucky to have a support person doing this with you! My friends have offered support, but they aren't doing the diet with me. I've been cooking a lot more since eating out really isn't an option.
  21. Ditto what @@krissyfattofab said. I also had orientation last week and they expect you to change you diet immediately. It's been interesting transitioning to protein first and not drinking with meals. So far I have survived. It's definitely tough on days I work out as I do an intense workout and get hungry after class. How is everything going with you @@krissyfattofab?

    Kaiser Questions

I think it depends on your plan. Maybe you can change your plan during open enrollment? Some plans have $0 co-pays, $25+, and some have deductibles. I'm also in CA, so not sure how the plans work in your state.
  23. @@krissyfattofab I will be there too!
  24. @@shaylady08 Tell me everything! Ha. I have my orientation next month. I'm so curious how everything works!
  25. Hi everyone. Does anyone when they offer classes? I saw someone said that their classes are on Wed. Are all the classes on Wed? I have my orientation in Oct. and am trying to plan out my schedule.
