  1. I @@bkskinny, omg! I never thought I would wake up sleeveless... I was heartbroken and depressed for weeks. My best friend found my new surgeon. He is 100% comfy with dealing with adhesions and said if he needs to he will take them down. He is also a liver specialist, so if there are any issues with my liver he showing be able to handle it ( him and God, that is). I will take your advice- lots of fluids! Thank you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. You can do this! I'm on day 10 of my pre op diet and if I can get through this without a "cheat", you sure can! I also a revision patient.Just keep reminding yourself that it's not worth it. You want to set yourself up for success and you don't succeed if you start out by finding ways to sneak around the rules. It hasn't been easy, but when my stomach is growling, I remember why I am doing it. Drinking lots of extra fluids help fool an empty stomach too. Good luck! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App thank you @! Yes, that's what I'm focusing on...the end result. I've already awakened once "sleeveless" because the surgeon felt my scar tissue was too excessive to get around. He told me to wait a year or two for new techniques to become available. I was beyond devastated! So, this go round will be by the "book" to the best of my ability... Thanks for the good wishes. Heading to get my Protein Shake now Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Today begins my two week liquid diet. I was excited until I woke up this morning hungry lol! I'm going to do my best to stick to the program and not cheat. My liver really needs to shrink because I am a revision (band to sleeve) patient and my liver and stomach are stuck together from scar tissue... I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I'm hoping for the best! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  14. It's not easy. When I had the band I cheated throughout the two week liquid diet phase. Now with me getting a revision and getting sleeved, I'm taking it so much more serious this go round. My liquids start on 10/12 and I'm going shopping this weekend to get a variety of things ( in compliance) so that I don't get bored. We can do this! It's not fun and I'll be whining in a few weeks but remind me of what I said, ok? Lol! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I know, let's get this done already. I just want to feel better and get healthier and I'm ready for my new life! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. Stay strong! Being compliant with the pre op diet makes it easier for our surgeon. It's not easy - especially when people around you decide to eat food that you love... But this is going to the the best winter of our lives! I can't wait till I can use this tool to shed some weight and feel better! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  20. So many of us feel the same way. I was banded in 2006 and was scheduled for a revision to the sleeve in May 2016. I woke up bandless and sleeveless due to adhesions. I have a new surgeon who will be doing my sleeve on Oct 2016. I'm so very scared but more scared not to... It's normal...ask as many questions about HIS mortality rate, research online what you can about him and most importantly compliance is key... I told myself the same things I'm saying to you All the best! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. The pain may be from scar tissue. Remember, the port is a foreign object in the body and while the body doesn't reject it, it still thinks it needs to protect itself from the "intruder". I used to get pain around/near my port every once in a while. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. Yep...I agree. That's what I did. I didn't want anything slowing up the process. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. I'm a Lap Band revision ( I had the band for 10 years) and BCBS didn't require me to do the 6 month supervised diet. I'm due to be sleeved on 10/26 (can't wait!!!) Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
