  1. Did anyones doc by chance mention how long they had to wait to tan? I know they told me I couldnt swim for a certain amount of time but I forgot what they said. They told me when I was on morphine so I dont remember. If anyone can help answer my questions that would be great. :sneaky:
  2. Well it has been 3 weeks since my surgery..and for the first time I cheated. I am very upset with myself. I went to chilis with my husband and ordered the honey chipotle chicken crispers. It comes with fries and corn. I didnt eat any of the corn. It took me all day to eat 3 crispers and a few frys, and I am so pissed at myself. I drank so much tea yesterday too....so I felt miserable. I felt stuffed. I dont know if I was stuffed from the food or all the tea I had. Right now I am supposed to be drinking 2 cups of slim fast and eating a cup of food. Well yesterday I just ate. I didnt do any of the slim fast. Does anyone know how easy it is for your band to slip??? I am so mad at myself!!!!:thumbdown:Any words of wisdom? I am just so afraid I could have damaged the band.
  3. Boo Boo Kitty, I have a question for you. Did you have any extra skin? That is one of my biggest fears. I am 23 and my starting weight was 315. Ive lost 35 lbs., but was wondering if you happen to have extra skin?
  4. Wow!! You look incredible. Congratulations on your weight loss. I was just banded 03/03/08 and am looking forward to months to come.
  5. My doc told me I could drink...just be sensible about it. They dont want you drinking every day by any means. I drink usually once on the weekend, and yes i do catch a buzz. It only takes me like 4 drinks to do that now, and I drink much slower. You will be fine, and able to drink. Just dont overdo it. Good Luck!
  6. have you talked to your doctor? My doctor told me you should never throw up with the band unless of course if you overeat, but you said you hardly eat. I would def. call the doctor..band slippage is serious I think.
  7. Wow! 120...that is awesome. Well keep up the good work and thanks for all the info.
  8. Cool Crystal, I also live in Texas and had my surgery in Dallas. My doc is Mark Watson...you?
  9. I have read alot on here that peoples reflux completely goes away after being banded.
  10. Its really not that bad. They do have different flavors so if you dont like the one they give you...ask to try another. Its kinda chalky but it is not that bad really.
  11. My surgeon didnt put me on a liquid diet pre-op. I was on a high protein diet which was meat and veggies. This diet was to shrink my liver. I was just on liquids after surgery. Every surgeon is different though. If you are going to do it...the sooner the better.
  12. I havent really dont anything to pull it i dont think. Just bend over at work and home when i have to. Its not a constant pain...its very sharp when I turn a cetain way or sit a certain way or go over bumbs while driving. How easy is it do you think to rip your port?
  13. I had to go through a six month weight loss program as well. Once the insurance has everything they need it actually only took 2 weeks to have a surgery date. So good luck!
  14. I was on phentermine for only 2 weeks. I didnt like the way it made me feel. I had chest pains..high blood pressure..and at one point thought I was having a heart attack. The diet doc. pulled me off of it only to give me the same drug..just a lower dosage. I never went to him again. I researched the drug and it says if heart disease or high blood pressure is a factor you def. dont need to take it. It also said it causes insomnia. I would research the drug if I were you. Usually you can find some answers you are looking for. Good Luck!
  15. Im about a week 1/2 post op and recovering quite nicely. Alittle sore but this morning I woke up with very sharp port pains. I am a little concerneced because this is the first time I have had this pain. Any thoughts???
  16. I am in the same boat. I havent had any port pain besides soreness until this morning. I am afraid I may have done something to the port or is it normal to all the sudden get port pain when you really havent had any?
  17. My doctor told me no restrictions on working out. He said of course, your not going to feel like working out the first week, but he required I walk 45 minutes per day the first week. Its been 8 days since I was banded and the soreness is easing tremendously. I do not have pain near the rib cage or anything like that. You may just want to give your doctor a call and explain the pain your having just to be on the safe side. I think you would be ok on the spinning after checking with your doc. on the pain. Just dont over do it on the working out. I know my doc. says no restrictions but he doesnt really want us lifting weights until were healed. I hope this info. helps a bit, and good luck on your weight loss.
  18. Thank you for replying. I was just wondering because I def. dont want to do anything to mess the band up. I havent and dont plan to drink diet coke, its just confusing when the surgeon says you can have caffiene and the dieticians lists decaf. I would just like to be able to have tea at a restaurant and lets face it...noone serves decaf tea. Thanks so much for the input.
  19. I was just curious as to why you cant have caffiene? On my dieticians list it states decaf tea and coffee, but my surgeon even tells me that I can have diet coke if i let if go flat and that has caffiene. I am just wondering if caffiene does anything to the band? :tt2:
  20. It is very odd how all doctors do things differently. My dieticians appear to be very strict. Today is my week one mark after surgery, but I go back on Friday. Hopefully at that point I can have different things. At this point I feel no restriction but then again I am on all liquids so I am starving all the time. I hope that when I start eating actual food I will notice. My surgeon put 2 ccs in my band at the time of surgery. Do you know how many ccs they put in on a fill?
  21. What kind of stuff did your doctor say you could have? I am not even aloud to have soup until week three, and I read a bunch of these forums and most ppl can have soup within a couple of weeks. I am so sick of protein drinks, broth, and water. Do you have any suggestions on how I can spice up my liquid meals?
  22. Well it is day five for me now, and its getting better. I am hungry most of the time but I just try to pass the time. I am just really sore and my incisions hurt quite a bit. I try to get out everyday and get some exercise and I think this helps. Well...thanks for all the input and I will keep you posted on my progress.
  23. I was just banded on Monday, and I must say it wasnt exactly like I expected. I have researched alot, and from most forums ppl say they were only down for a few days and had no problems. Its not Thursday, and I cant bend over or anything. I am in pain most of the time, and have lots of gas that just swells up in my belly. To be honest with you, I didnt think it would be this painfull. I really expected to bounce back pretty quickly. My appetite is starting to come back and I am hungry all the time. I havent and wont cheat though. I want to use this to its full advantage. I only took a week off of work, but am thinking I should have taken more time to heal. I am just ready for these two weeks to be over so I can just be comfortable. Did anyone else have really bad gas, and lots of pain for more than a few days?
