Happy #Sleeversary to Me! Year One.

I am 11 months Post-surgery and I am doing great. just hit 100 lbs lost and 5 lbs past my goal. feel great. the hair loss has been bad for me also. I get the same comments, "STOP LOSING" it is a bit irritating but oh well they mean well. just another way to say I look good. so this point in not really trying to lose weight but I'm still losing about 4 lbs a month. Mexico or Canada

I used Dr. Quinones at Pompeii surgical in Tiajuana. I had a great experience. I had no complications and have lost 83 lbs since January.
  4. From personal experience, I don't see why this would be necessary. I had minimal pain and the pain I did have was mostly from trapped gas. I know that everyone is different but it just seems like overkill to me.

    Pompeii Surgical (Dr Quinones)

I am now 6 months Post-surgery and I am doing great. I have never regretted it once. I am currently down 80 lbs. better than I thought I would do. Never a complication with Dr Q Sent from my SM-G930V using BariatricPal mobile app
  6. I need some advice guys. I am 4 weeks post-op tomorrow. I had surgery done in Tijuana so I have very little guidance post-op. I should be in pureed/mushy food stage but the thing is, I HATE the way it feels to eat. I do get some hunger, it's just the way the food feel as it goes down it feels uncomfortable, gurgley, gassy . I have tried eggs, refried Beans, tilapia, cream Soups, and yogurt. Most days I only eat for one meal and so I'm still depending on Protein shakes for most of my meals. My question is, Is this ok? should I try to eat more often?

    Mexico aslimmerme

I had a good experience. The staff is great. I wish the rooms had private bathrooms though. It's no like a American hospital though so don't be expecting that. Dr Quinones did a great job though and thats what really matters.

    Wow restrictions

I am 3 weeks post op. I didn't do well with my first egg either. I'm in a really frustrating phase right now. My brain wants semblance of real food but my sleeve isn't ready. ahhhh
  10. Congratulations, I was sleeved 10 days ago and am starting at almost the same weight as you. I hope I can have the same success. There's still part of me that thinks it won't work... I am following all the rules so I know I just have to think positive. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

    Pompeii Surgical (Dr Quinones)

I went to Dr Quinones at Pompeii Surgical. He did a great job and the staff was great. The surgery Center was kinda small though. The rooms are not very private and you can hear evervything going on. No private bathroom in the rooms which was the biggest surprise for me. If youb want the place to look like a surgical center in US then this isn't the place for you. It's was very clean though and I can't say enough about the great staff. 15. Great information. I'm 8 days post -op and cleared to start my sulfasalazine again but have been afraid sounds the pills are so big. I think I will just wait till I switch to soft foods to start up again Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  16. People just care, they don't realize it's intrusive. I guess that's one thing we have to deal with, that our weight-loss journey/ struggle can't exactly be hidden like other struggles people have. I would let it just roll right off. I think it's always better to see the good in people. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

I wanna know about carbs... Seriously!

One important thing to point out is that people's body's respond differently to carbs. For me,most carbs (grains,Pasta, rice)are trigger foods so I plan to limit them. I think 100 carbs is a good maintenance goal for you, bringing them down to 50 would probably help you to lose a little bit more. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

Finally know what it feels like

I am 8 days post op and my hunger just returned yesterday. It scared me because I don't want to overeat. I'm on full liquid diet till next week. I'm allowed to have yogurt and is been hard to only eat 2Tb cuz I want more. It's reassuring to know that I'm not going to want to overeat. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

    Mexico aslimmerme

Please do not go to someone who is inexperienced or go to the cheepest. I had my surgery with Dr Quinones on January 25th. There are also good doctors through this site like Dr. Illan. There is already a measure of risk going to Mexico, make sure you find a good doctor. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  20. I had surgery the 25th. Feel lucky that I haven't had too many side effects. The gas the first 2 days were the worst. Now the little bubbles that come up every time I drink. Feeling good and excited to be on this journey. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App
  21. This is a great forum. I received my surgery on the Jan. 25 in Mexico. Going that route, I of course don't have the post-op support I would have here in the US. I have done a lot of research though and still feel great about my decision of both surgery and Mexico. It's good to be connected to others gonna through the same things I am. Is been hard work meeting wager and Protein goals. I got to 54oz Water and 60g protein yesterday and I feel proud of that. I Hope to do a little more today. I'm so happy and feel excited about this process. How many days post-op is everybody starting a walking regime. Sent from my SM-G930V using the BariatricPal App

    One Month Away

I am also about a month away from surgery. I prepaid and got my plane tickets early. I didn't want to get cold feet. I am excited but also very nervous about the work I know I need to do concerning my relationship with food. I think it will be a hard transition but i am determined to be successful. I want to be healthy and have less pain.

    Struggling to deal with friends!

This is good information. I am at the beginning of my research and this is a big concern for me. I feel like you are looked down on if you choose surgery. Thanks for the posts
