  5. Jenny9541 I went for my 4wk follow up today, I was discouraged about not losing weight also. To start, I weighed 256lbs when I went in for surgery, I weighed 265 the day I went home. I weighed 254 at 2 wk check up. Today I weighed 250 at my 4 wk. doc & are thinking part of the problems stem from Water pills I was taking prior to surgery. I had not taken them since that time. I had swelling in my leg & the rest of my body, began again almost a week ago. I am back on the water pill as of today. I am thinking some of my problem related to the water/edema I have. It is not the only thing I am dealing with but explains a lot. I was also told I need to try increasing my exercise. I am limited in my ability to exercise by my back injury. So my plan is to try swimming. Anyway, I hope this helps, if nothing else you are not alone!! . Good luck to you. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Katoya34, just a suggestion about the Protein. I have been drinking Protein shakes every day & have not had a problem with keeping the grams up. I have been using Six Star whey Protein mix, vanilla flavored. One scoop in some milk gives me 30 grams/ day. I am drinking 2 a day now. Just an idea, of coarse u should check with your nutritionist or doctor if it's not on your list. I buy mine at Walmart. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  9. I had surgery in Oct 4th. I did a liquid diet for one week prior. I am finishing up my full liquid diet. At 2 wks. I can start 2 wks of puréed food. From everything I have seen we all have to slowly graduate to Whole Foods so we don't tear up our stomach & let it heal well. It's like everything else, we get what we put into it. I think the pain from over doing it will be a great motivator. Best of luck to all of you! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  23. I have had a few surgeries, most in regards to my back. I have had to have them to deal with pain. I think a part of me feels more anxious about this surgery because I can choose to not have it. I feel I have a choice about this but when I read other ppl's message on here, it reminds me that I have a choice of letting one of many problems I have due to being obese just continue to kill me slowly. I chose life through the sleeve surgery! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
