  1. OK, so I am 16 months out from surgery and I have lost a total of 130lbs. I'm super proud of myself, but I am having the worst time shopping for clothes......which is strange, bc that is one of my favorite things to do! I feel so overwhelmed when I walk into a store because I have SO MANY OPTIONS now. I am used to shopping in a tiny little section in the back of the store and now I actually have choices and different styles to choose from. Surely I'm not alone here.........Anybody else dealing with this issue? Please share!!

    Telling my daughter...

I was very honest with both of my children. While they are a bit younger 8 & 6, I wanted them to know up front that I was having surgery because I made some poor choices over the years that caused me to gain weight and I needed to change not only for myself, but them as well. I let them know that alot of our "old eating habits" were about to change. We had our struggles with "why do we have to eat this" at first, but now they both are right there on the healthy food train with me!! As far as the exercise goes, they are they ones keeping me encouraged! They love that I can run with them now, and I constantly hear, come on Mom......just a little further, when we are at the track!! I LOVE IT!! I say make your daughter a part of the change, when she sees the new choices you are making, I bet she will jump right on board with you!! Best of luck in whatever decision you make

    "She's blushing!"

Whether or not you decide to tell how you are loosing the weight is completely your decision, but i say.......Don't be ashamed of the "How", tell it, be proud, and redirect people to "WHY" you chose to do this! Getting healthy to me outweighed any of the negative comments that people were going to have. I have two small children who need me to be a healthier mom, they need me to teach them how to grow up healthy and live an active and healthy lifestyle. No matter what you do in life, you will always run into "those people" who just want to bring you down instead of seeing the positive. For those that think this is "the easy way out", HA! I'd like them to try it!!
