  1. @dessertwarrior I was hungry after a few days. I was like wait a minute I thought I wasn't supposed to be hungry anymore. I had a hard time drinking the liquid protien. When I started my powered protien shakes it made a huge difference. I'm on week 2 and having creamed Soups too. Yummy!! Turtle5559
  2. Good luck!! I'm still wearing a sports bra my regular bras put too much pressure. My surgery was on Sept 2nd. I work from home though. Turtle5559
  3. Thanks everyone I guess no more ice Water for a while. It's weird though, I have no problem with sugar free popsicles. Turtle5559
  4. Omg I went to hangout for Sunday Funday football today. My honey ordered a beer and I had an ice Water. Ouch!! I felt like my stomach froze. I'm 9 days out had a sleeve, does this pass? I hope so!! I love ice cold water & just bought a yeti cup haha I love it!! Turtle5559
  5. I had surgery on Friday September 2nd went back to work the following Thursday 6 days later. I used up all my PTO on summer vacations so I had no choice:( I work from home and have a desk job so I figured I'd be good. I was ok just had a little discomfort sitting all day. I feel so much better today tomorrow will be 10 days. So I would recommend if you can at least 2 weeks., but it depends on your body some were good 1 week later. This is for comfort reasons, as far as diet reasons that again depends on you. Some people have a hard time adjusting to the new lifestyle. Turtle5559
  6. @@Gerri918 correct I had the sleeve, but yes same concept o shrink the liver. I was talking about my GRUBBING experience prior to that diet. Turtle5559
  7. I'm not sure about Dr. Alvarez , but I was just sleeved on Sept 2nd in Tiajuna I saw Dr alejandro lopez , everything was smooth sailing from the initial call with a consultant to booking the surgery the day I WANTED!! I paid $4700 which included a Marriott stay for my family of 3 for 3 nights. I only stayed there them the Thursday night before my surgery. The hotel was even very nice and I was treated very well. I was given complimentary broth and popsicles:) At the end i ended up having to pay an $350 because I had a hiatal hernia repair that the dr found when he went in, i was aware that may happen so i was prepared, but other than that the facility was nice the people were great and no issues with the nurses not speaking English. Not sure how much Dr. Alvarez is, I even found that was cheaper doctors out there, but I had a friend who went there a few years prior and absolutely loved Dr. Lopez. I made a good choice.....Good Luck!! Turtle5559
  8. I am now on powered protien shakes and WOW that made a huge difference. I can also have some fat free cream Soups, along with the liquid diet still. Life is good!! I'm back in control ???? Turtle5559
  9. You sound like me turtle5569! Did the same thing, binged on junk, ate all my faves, a few trips to Carvel ..my BMI was 37..and I'm 9 days out of sleeve surgery and feel great. I'm noticing that every other commercial is about food! My birthday is 9/24, and as long as I can have some lobster.. Even pureed is fine with me!!@@gidgetgrl hope all your wishes come true for you birthday!! You know last night at Walmart I saw this can of Soup it was cream of Shrimp. I said I like Shrimp?? I didn't buy it, but it kinda sounds good. Haha Turtle5559
  10. Greay idea!! I would love to be apart of this thread. I was sleeved on Sept. 2nd I didn't have the gas pains, but for the 1st 3 days I had left shoulder and neck pain. My chest and throat had the flem feeling. It was so hard to cough!! Not sure if that was from the trach tube or I had an upper hiatal hernia repair. I was on clear liquids for the 1st 6 days and HATED the liquid protien drinks. I was lucky if I got 30g a day. Yesterday I said screw it, I want a real protien shake & had no problem drinking 12oz of my powdered chocolate Isopure with Water 50g of protien. It was delicios!! It took about 3 hours to drink it. I'm feeling great I'm down 6 lbs from surgery date. Good luck Ya'all!! 5'2 SW 189.9 CW 183.3 Turtle5559
  11. I too had a low BMI 34. I was a cash pay patient and tbought the same thing. Will I ever be able to eat all my favorite foods?? So 1 month prior to my pre op diet my honey and I ate/drank EVERYTHING we wanted. I made so many crunchy tacos..lol shredded beef, chicken, ground beef you name it. I LOVE TACOS!!! We ate out more often than ever enjoyed a few Happy Hours. Then ughhhhh I felt so sick of food I gained about 12 lbs felt like crap and was ready for my pre-op diet. I'm 8 days post op and doing great. I won't lie the food commercials still look good..Haha I just have a shake and bam I'm stuffed. Good luck on your journey so far I'm loving it. Turtle5559
  12. Yes smaller portions!! I had some Light & Fit Greek yogurt this morning and 2 tablespoons I was stuffed. Lol this is crazy. I made it through my 1st week. Yayy!! Turtle5559
  13. I saw Dr. alejandro lopez. The staff was amazing the facility was nice & the recovery boutique was my favorite. I had no issues with anyone not speaking English either. Turtle5559
  14. I'm 6 days out and still on the recliner couch. I tried my bed tonight and it didn't sit well. I tried to lay on left side with a pillow for support, but it was too uncomfortable. I miss my bed!! Turtle5559
  15. Absolutely!! This is why I love this app:) I get so much information on here. Turtle5559
  16. That's funny that you said they took you for ice cream. Day two for me the nurse brought me a Lala light yogurt. I said are you sure, I can have this? My paper work says I can't have yogurt for till week 2. My surgery was also in Tiajuna???? Congratulations on your success!! Turtle5559
  17. I get creative with my broth now. I get the boxed broth of the organic chicken or beef broth. I boil it on low with veggies like carrot, cabbage, celery, green onion and a slice of jalepeno a chunk of garlic with a dash of pepper and celery salt. Strain it and sip!!! It's really yummy. Good luck!! Turtle5559
  18. Yesterday I made some crystal light and Gatorade popsicles. I can eat them all day long. I wanted different flavors..lol I bought this ice popsicle maker for 3 bucks at my local grocery store. They make 6 about a 1/4 cup each popsicle. Yummy!! I had a good day yesterday. This app really helps!! Turtle5559
  19. That's awesome!! Go girl!! I can't wait to be the that point. Turtle5559
  20. Thanks @@Bufflehead I will!! Turtle5559
  21. Thanks I left a message with my consultant. Waiting on a return call. Turtle5559
  22. @flowersgastric I actually bought all my vitamins from costco. Adult Multivitamins Gummies, Calcium Bone support Gummies, B12 tablets, Biotin, Iron I did want to look into the B12 injections from Mexico. My sister in law just bought 6 boxes 3 in each box for $26. My consultant is from Florida she mentioned these B12 topical Patches from Groupon. I was going to ask her about those when I talk to her. I'm just about 2 1/2 hours from Tiajuna and we're planning to drive out this weekend. My boyfriend left his bag in the hotel like a dork and it would cost way more to have them ship it back to him. So I thought I'd take advantage of the pharmacies out there. Also want to ask about a good scar removal cream?? I might get some good deals. We'll see:) Turtle5559
  23. @@chuswysly Thanks for the advice. Im going to keep on sipping!! Did you drink any protien in that 10 day period? Turtle5559
  24. @@KristenLe I'm usually full after about a 1/4 cup and I stop. Maybe ill just add more to the cup and reheat it after a few minutes. Isopure was recommended. So I bought a 5lb bucket of chocolate powder and a 3 lbs bucket of strawberry powder. The powder taste good with Water and 1/2 fat free milk. I was drinking that on my 10 day pre diet prior to surgery, but for the 7 day liquid diet I bought the liquid ones. I was told no powder. I found an Atkins berry one, but it only had 20g of protien vs the isopure is 40g. It does taste a little better I just have to drink 2 of them. I can barely put one down. I can't wait to pass the liquid phase!! I can do it!! I can do it!! What is a PPI? The dr did prescribe omeprazol. I take 1 tablet every 12 hours. I don't have the bad gas pains like I did with my hysterectomy. I actually feel pretty good. I had slight left shoulder and neck pain, but that passed already. I'm really thankful for your responses!! Turtle5559
