  1. I am mixing powdered Bariatric Advantage with half a cup of skim milk and crushed ice. I also add sugar free orange syrup that I use with lattes. Extract works well too. Put the Optifast in the Majic Bullet and pulse it for a few seconds..it should fluff it up.
  2. Cool! I am on Bariatric Advantage. I bought a Majic Bullet the other day for the shakes and boy it really makes good shakes. I also am adding sugar free syrups that I use for lattes. The chocolate with orange syrup is good. Yes, keep in touch. Have you been to the 50 thread? That is where I am most of the time. Look for it under the "fifties". Take care! I too, wish you a very successful banding.
  3. I know what you mean.....I have been on a liquid diet since last wednesday and I have only lost 3lbs. Anyway, clear liquids means broth, tea, jello, but no red. Try sugar free popcicles too. Yeah, it's okay to have other colors.....at least all the clear liquids diets I have been on allowed different colors other than red. My surgery date is July 16th. I have to go on clear liquids the day before too.
  4. Happy One Month Aniversary! You really have lost alot of weight in one month. How many calories are you taking in a day and how much exercise? My band date is July 16th and this liquid diet is tough.:tt2:
  5. I went through nutrition classes for three months and had to stay on a 1400 a day diet and also journal it for insurance approval. Now I am on a liquid protein pre-op diet for two weeks till my surgery date. I believe it makes the surgery easier. I am scheduled for July16th.
  6. I ate all my favorites then started on Bariatric Advantage two days ago. I like the chocolate. I use half cup of skim milk....half cup of cold water....and a little crushed ice. Put it in a blender and it makes a great milkshake. I bought a Majic Bullet today. It is great for the protein shakes. How many do you drink a day? My dr said to drink five.
  7. I am being banded July16th. Dr. Garth Davis put me on Bariatric Advantage Pre-op. You get enough for two weeks and chewable vitamins. Now, he has an e-store on his website or you can go to Bariatric Advantage. It tastes pretty good.
  8. CONGRATULATIONS! To all of those being banded today. I am praying for you.
  9. Thanks for the info....I am on day one.
  10. Welcome! You will love all the support on this thread. I am getting my band on July 16th. I started my liquid diet today. I have had "last supper syndrome" for the last few days. Lets see, I said goodbye to fried jumbo shrimp, chinese food, and a ribeye steak with baked potato Soup and salad. I started on Bariatric Advantage....not too bad. I have to stay on it until two weeks after surgery.
  11. July16th for me too. I started my liquid diet today......Bariatric Advantage.....not too bad. I made up the vanilla and added sugar free orange syrup that is used for lattes. It tastes pretty good. I haven't started the vitamin yet. I have Bariatric Advantage vitamin in lemon and watermelon....yum!
  12. That is Great!.....especially having a clinic closer to you. I wish you well with your insurance.
  13. I told him that we loved the show and how encouraging it was for those looking for help. I don't know about other weight loss doctors, but Dr. Davis has alot of the super morbid obese and I think it might be because of the show. You have to admire a doctor that has the heart to help those of us who have come to the crossroads of our health.
  14. Welcome Roustabout! You don't live too far from me. I am on one side of Houston and you are on the other. Are you going to Houston for lap band surgery? You will get alot of good info and encouragement on this site.
  15. He just smiled when I told him about all of you. He said he gets alot of emails from all over the country telling him how it encourages them to get the surgery. Now, he is all about gastric bypass for the super morbid obese or really those over 50bmi, but because I have had so many abdominal sugeries the lap band was the choice for me. He agreed. I am so grateful I found all of you to support me. I had to sign a paper saying I would attend a support group, but it only meets once a month.
  16. Thanks! Actually, He was recommended to me by the colon surgeon before he had a show. He has a super busy practice. He keeps telling me all the things I have heard from all of you veterans.....it is just a tool and I have to work hard to lose. I just want to lose 75lbs by April in time for our Hawaiian cruise. I don't want to have to ask for a seat extender. That was my "ah ha" moment last year when we went to Vegas. Never again. I was so humiliated.
  17. Well, I just got back from Dr G. Davis for my pre-op. I confessed to him of having "last supper syndrome". So many of my skinny friends want to take me out before the band. Anyway, it is a go for July 16. By the way, I asked Dr Garth Davis if "Big Medicine" was going to be showing again and he said yes. The re -runs are on Discovery Health and the new show should be next year. I told him that all bandsters on LBT wanted to know.....the fifties group that is. I have to start the liquid on July 2nd. Yippee!
  18. I haven't had the surgery yet, but with my doctor's nutrition class we are given one free consult with a nutritionist after surgery. You might check with his office.....I am sure they can help you. Don't beat yourself up....there is a solution to your weight gain.
  19. I'll put you on my prayer list. I start my pre-op liquid diet on Wednesday. I need prayer too!
  20. Well, Girl, I am 57 and being banded on July 16th. I am excited and scared. All I can tell you is just go with it and do whatever the nurses and doctors say. I haven't had this surgery, but since 2000 I have had three major abdominal surgeries....two of which were colon resections. You are alot stronger than you realize. Yes, recovery may take a little longer, but just take one day at a time. It's gonna be "all good". We will be sing praises in no time with our fellow bandsters.
  21. http://www.lapbandtalk.com/f5/ticker-tutorial-pictures-41782/ Just follow the directions. For the ticker "thingy".
  22. Hey, does anyone know how I get rid of the "edit post" button on my post? :tt2: It showed up a couple of posts ago and I don't know what I did. I am technically challenged. Also I am weight loss challenged or I wouldn't be here.
  23. So glad to hear you are feeling better. I am watching all of you with new bands because my banding is July 16th. I hate to throw up!!!!!!!!!
  24. Mine is Bariatric Advantage for two weeks starting July2nd....Yikes!
