  1. Becky, I know what you mean. I had steak and broccoli and took half my meal home. Last night I finished it and got stuck and pb'd. I think my problem is chewing and mixing the food. I need to do protein first and then the veggie or carb. I am learning though...this is the first pb in over two weeks. :tongue_smilie:
  2. LORI, Sounds like you made out like a bandit on the leather jacket. I did not got shopping. I am not going to buy until the scales start moving down again. I need a fill, but my appt. is not until Jan. 19th. I am going to see if I can get worked in next week. I here ya on the weight gain. It is probably water gain from the salt and carbs. You can shake that off in a day or so. Glad to see you had a good Christmas. I was blessed too to have all my kids together and enjoying each other's company. I am especially blessed to have had my mother for another year. Well, girl, we better get back on the bandwagon! We have a whole NEW YEAR to reach our personal goals.:thumbup::smile:
  3. MiMi, Hugs and prayers for you and your family. I know this is a tough time for you. If we can helf ......we are here for you.
  4. Janet I hope you had a Merry Christmas too! Of course I ate too much. I am not weighing till Monday. I got stuck on a deviled egg. So I will just add that to my list of "no! no! " foods. Of course the sliders slid right down with no problems. I left all the sweets at my DS's. Tomorrow it's "back to the future"......walk.....journal......walk....journal. I am ready for a NEW YEAR!:tongue2::thumbup:
  5. Long, after my last colon surgery the surgeon put me on Miralax and Dr. Davis said it was fine to take daily. I buy the large bottle.....30 day supply. You may not need it daily, but I take as a preventative against colon problems.
  6. Long, I answered you on the 50 thread. Anyway, Miralax is not thick like metamucil. You shouldn't have a problem with it. It is a little expensive, but it works without side effects.
  7. I hope you feel better soon. Don't worry about the weight.....it is fluid. It will come off. Just take care of yourself.
  8. [/url] Long, just take one capeful in eight ozs of water. It is not thick like metamucil. I have taken it for a couple of years. Hey, bandster buddies! All y'all have a Merry Christmas!
  9. AMEN! JUST GOT TO KEEP ON KEEPING ON!
  10. ONE WORD .....MIRALAX....EVERYDAY. It has no taste ....I drink it every night before bedtime. Takes a couple of days to start working. It is safe to take every day. After many bouts of diveticulits I have found that this works better than any of the laxatives or fiber supplements I have taken.
  11. Pennylane, I had to get an unfill the first of December because I was pbing too much. The weight loss has stopped, but I have been working on eating slower and chewing. I think I am ready to get some of the fill I lost. You need both......slower eating and the right fill. It is a balancing act . We will get there!
  12. Long, yep, the low tonight is 36 and it should be in the 70's for Christmas. No thanks on the cold although I do get tired of using heat at night and a/c during the day. Girl, your doing great.....I'm with you....at least I am not gaining 10lbs this season. I did taste my sand tarts and they made me sick. I am glad I am losing my sweet tooth.
  13. LOL..........Yeah, well, that's the way we roll down here at Christmastime!
  14. Janet, I said I am not baking next year. I have to make cookies for our "Christmas Eve, Eve" at church on the 23rd. Get this, we are hauling ing 60,000 lbs of snow for the kids to play in. I know all of you up north think we are crazy, but this is a treat for us. The only problem is there is a 50% chance of rain. YIKES! So far I have done real well on controlling my snacking. I have been eating protein before I bake.
  15. DITTO'S JANET! I WROTE EARLIER , BUT DISAPPEARED. Anyway, I went to Walmart and got the turkey and all the trimmings for Christmas. I made four kinds of cookie dough.....they are chilling in the frig. I AM NOT BAKING NEXT YEAR! It is too hard to stay on track. I did eat Protein, so maybe I won't dip into the Cookies. I really don't like sweets anymore like I like snacky stuff. You know, chex mix, cheese balls, crackers.....bad! bad! bad! HAVE A GREAT DAY!
  16. CONGRATS! ON STARTING THE BAND JOURNEY. YOU WON'T REGRET IT! I am glad you are doing so well.:thumbup:
  17. Kimaly, we are all in this together. We WILL be victorious. We WILL have a Merry Christmas without all the calories of past Christmases. We need to keep or eyes on the present of good health. That is a priceless gift we WILL give ourselves.:thumbup:
  18. Woo hoo! I second that ! Congrats Phyl on 100lb loss!:huh2::thumbup::cursing:
  19. Thanks Long. Yep, the stress got to me the last four months. Ike, my daughter's surgery....her recovery which she just finished ...my mother's health......and I really hit the sliders when my husband got the temporary layoff news. I definitely turn to food in time of crisis.
  20. Thanks, Janet. I get down on myself sometimes. I see all the tickers of other banders and I feel defeated. I know I have alot of "head work" to do. You know my father was an alcoholic.....now I understand how hard overcoming an eating addiction can be. I believe I have that addiction gene. I guess admitting it is the beginning of this new journey.
  21. That's what I'm talking about! Everyone's system is different. When Orea was talking about the "first bite syndrome" I had a "Ah Ha" moment and realized that is why I have been pbing so much. The last restriction does not allow me to eat Protein fast. I get stuck. So, I am working on it. I don't have an appt till Jan 19th for a fill, but she said if anyone cancels I can get in early. I really think I am close to the "sweet spot". Maybe one or two more fills. With all the drama .....my daughter's surgery.....my mother's congestive heart failure... I have not journaled since Dec 2nd. There lies another problem. I too am going to journal and be strict on myself.
  22. WOW, sounds like the holidays are doing a number on all of us. I did not get a fill today. I started thinking that I needed to work on my eating habits before getting a fill. I have just pb'd too much this last month. I am eating too fast, and with all the Christmas functions....I do not want to get stuck. Anyway, I can't get in until the middle of January. So, We will get through this season together.
  23. JANET, I canceled my fill appt. I started thinking last night that I needed to work on my eating habits before I got more restriction. I would hate to go to all these Christmas functions and have to leave because I am stuck. So, I like the other girls that just posted need help through the holidays. I will be calling on you. This time of year I feel like an alcoholic only my problem is food......JUST ONE DAY AT A TIME SWEET JESUS! That is my mantra for the season.
  24. You are doing great!..........41lbs Woohoo!!!!!!!!.....and Props to you for helping the Wounded Warriors. I can't think of anyone better to serve at Christmas than our servicemen.:thumbup::w00t:
  25. Janet, you are too funny. I was going to get on here and ask "where have you been", but now I know. I am going to the dr. tomorrow for a fill or at least get back some of what he took out 2 weeks ago. I think I have figured out the pb thing. It is eating too fast the first couple of bites after I have gone too long without eating. Does that make sense? Oh, good news....my DH will be called back to work on Janurary 5th. Thank you Jesus! .....and also my mother is out of the nursing home and back on her own at the retirement home. Now maybe I can conscentrate on my band journey again.:thumbup::confused:
