  1. Amen, Apples! PJ.........we are proud of you! I get props from my kids and those that have worried about my health for years. But I guess it is weird.......there is always that one person that we want validation from and they have too much pride to give it or they just don't think it is important to us.
  2. I take ambien too. I break a 5mg in half.....sometimes I whole one. They are so expensive. I wish I could find something cheaper. I tried the time released and it gave me night terrors.
  3. I'd be freaking out too! AWESOME!
  4. Just checking in. Long, how are you this morning? You and your husband have been in my thoughts and prayers. Take Care! Janet, well, that little challenge has been sobotaged by stuff beyond my control. It has rained most of the week....NO WALKING. My son had shoulder surgery and I started cooking for him. (HE is staying with us). I WILL get back on track because I get a fill on Monday and I need a loss on the scales. OKay.....enough excuses. You know, if I didn't have all of you LBT peeps......I wouldn't have anyone to share band stuff with..........Thanks!...to all of you for help. Apples , Long, I put the coke in the roast........boy it was tender.
  5. OMG!......I am so glad your husband was not hurt. How scary for him. What is up with all this crime? The guy they caught the other night near our neighborhood not only carjacked someone that morning, but he also had kidnapped and murdered a sales clerk from Catherines. Girl, I will pray for your husband and you. That kind of ordeal is hard to get out of your mind. Please take care of yourself!
  6. Helene, Oh, I am so glad you are on the mend. Just keep eating like you had a band. I know, easier said than done, but I am sure you have better eating habits than before the band. Stay in touch. We still want to hear from you. Take care!
  7. Vent away.....that is why we are here.....to support you. It is tough. You can do this! Just take one day at a time and keep focused on the rewards. At least you have the band to keep you from gaining weight.
  8. Wow! You already have a sleeve day. Good for you! I am concerned about Katy. I have had 3 laparotomies(open surgeries).....it is quite a recovery. She may be in the hospital up to a week. We may not hear from her for a few days.
  9. Oregon.......I asked Dr. Davis' Pa if the show was going to come back on and she said it was in the works.
  10. amen and amen!!!!!!!!!
  11. Janet, Awesome pic of all of you! Well, the police did get their man last night around 10p. He was hiding in a neighborhood in a shed. He is in alot of trouble. I am getting tired of all this drama in our town. We have experienced a lot of growth and with it came the criminal element. I wish I was going on a cruise with you. I just love cruises.
  12. Okay, Janet, are you on your cruise already? Missing your posts!
  13. My surgeon has a new book out called The Expert's Guide to WEIGHT-LOSS Surgery by Dr. Garth Davis. It may have some information in there that might be helpful. He talks about the Gastric Sleeve. Like I said before, it is something I would have done had insurance paid for it.
  14. Thanks Long.....I may have been fat in my fifties, but I am going to be slim in my sixties.........I have two years to get to a normal BMI.
  15. Apples, thanks for the sf recipes. I will definitely make them.
  16. Thanks! They tracked the gunman with dogs to a neighborhood and then lost his scent. They said someone picked him up. I am sure this was planned. It was in a gated community. Desperate times brings on crime. Oh well, no excuses now.....I need to get out and walk. Yeah, my DS has a tear in his shoulder and will be in a sling for six weeks. His work requires alot of travel so he should be mobil in a week or two. Meanwhile, I will spoil him.
  17. Janet......good to hear from you. Are you feeling better? I went out for dinner last night and shared a dessert with DH for my birthday. It was so much better than him buying me a cake. I thought I would get out this morning and walk, but my sweet mother called to tell me to stay in and lock my doors. There was a carjacker a couple of miles from here that shot at a man and then shot at the police. That was six hours ago and they still haven't found him. You know this is Texas so the sheriff's dept is out with horses and dogs. Anyway, I am not walking today. Long, it sounds as though things are going well with mom and grandma. I need a tweek too. I am going next monday for a fill. My son is having surgery on thursday so I will be busy caring for him. He is divorced so I am the designated caregiver. I don't mind. I like to baby my grown kids ..........once in awhile. My husband is excited because he is looking forward to some good cooking.....lol.
  18. Orea, I have always retained fluid in warm weather.....not as bad as it used to be now that I have cut my carbs down. I have not been getting in all my water. I will increase it today. I got an appt for a fill next monday, so I want to lose at least a couple of lbs before I see the dr.
  19. Thanks Orea! Well, I am scheduled for a fill this thursday, but my 35yr old son is having shoulder surgery. Since he is single(divorced) I am taking him so I will have to cancel. Hopefully they can fit me in next week. It's weird. Some days I feel I can eat anything.....other days.....two bites and I am almost stuck. Anyway, I think my band needs tweeking. Do any of you put on weight in the spring and summer? The weather is in the 80's here and I have put on a couple of lbs.
  20. I hear ya! I was a tight 26/28 and I just bought a 18-20 jacket (1x). My goal is a 14/16, but I don't know if I will ever get out of the w's either. We can only hope. Well, I am going out this evening for a piece of cake to celebrate my B-day.......yep....it happens once a year. I just want to be at goal before I turn 60.
  21. You are probably experiencing a little thing called "bandster's hell". It is after surgery and before a fill. I really had a tough time with it. The best thing I found was plan your food and journal whatever you put in your mouth. You will make it! Have a good time visiting your Mom. I just came back from seeing mine across town. She is 85 and lives in a retirement home. Take care!:thumbup::thumbup:
  22. On the computer you highlight the serving then just update it.....like put in .50 for half then click on update. On the Ipod it is under Livestrong....there is a place to click on the amont.
  23. Orea, is the The Daily Plate. I like it because I can use it on my IPhone when I am out, and then use my computer when I am home.
  24. Orea, I have Nutrition, My Plate, and Weight Tracker. Also I have Restaurants . I think they were all free.
  25. Katy, you will be in my prayers. I will pray for you a successful surgery and recovery. Please keep in touch. Love and Hugs going your way!
