  1. Mrs Bubba......stay safe. It takes awhile to get emergency supplies to a flooded area. I hope your area doesn't have much damage. I am stocking up now for hurricane season. After last year I learned to be prepared. Water and food were in short supply because stores could not open without electricity. We don't think about that stuff till it happens.
  2. Hollyb8, Try cutting your miralax down. Sometimes I just take a half of a cap. I am a 1951 model too. This is the place to catch up on the banding journey.
  3. JoannM.......you are a wealth of information. I did not know about the chewable Omega 3. I will buy some. I bought the 1200 Omega 3 and when I opened them they were......HUGE!. I just finished 6mos. of vitaminD for a deficiency. It really sneaks up on you. It causes insommnia and anxiety......so my doctor says. I couldn't tell the difference. I still can't sleep at night. Thanks for the 411!
  4. I too have problems with calcium. I take Miralax everyday. My doctor recommended it. It cost about 21 bucks for a 30 day supply. I mix it with water.
  5. Those two items are what I thought about when I went looking. I found the tortilla container, but not the toddler plate. I also found a bread warmer that has a stone in it I think you microwave. I think the toddler bowl would be great......right size! I might hit the resale shops.....go junkin'. Yep, Janet is a brave girl. I wanted to take my two teenage grand daughters.....but just don't want the responsibility.
  6. I have a question. When I eat a plate of food it gets cold before I finish. So, do any of you know where I can get an insulated dinner plate? I thought about putting a saucer in a tortilla warmer and cover it . Got any ideas?
  7. You have my empathy. I suffer from adhesions too. Two of my colon surgeries were due to adhesions. Now they are growing over my port. I is the hazard of genetics and abdominal surgery. I wish someone would find a permanent cure to adhesions. I hope you don't have to have anymore surgeries.
  8. O......I had to log out.....log in.....then go to an email I got last week and click on it. Then I started getting emails again.
  9. APPLES..........HAVE A GREAT TIME!
  10. I drink Miralax everyday. Also drink at least 60oz of fluid. Exercise helps too. I have had diverticulitis serveral times and had to have colon resections. Since the band I haven't had any problems because I drink alot of water and tea. I do take Miralax every night. Mix it in water. It has no taste. Check the warning on the label before you buy it to see if you might be sensitive to it.
  11. Sharons, glad you are back. Yep, bread and french fries are not a banders friend. Eating protein first is supposed to fill the pouch so you aren't hungry. If you are getting stuck.......as I do alot........chew, chew, chew.
  12. Okay, I am not getting email notification anymore.....how do I subscribe for them?
  13. There, I set mine for 25lbs by the end of July. I am a butterfly climbing to success. Sounds corny, but climbing is hard for me and flying is impossible. I was just being REAL.
  14. Oh, now I see. I am going to set a challenge up for the end of July. I can see I won't make the Easter Challenge I set for myself. I want to lose 25lbs by the end of July.......so that would be........approx. 1.4lbs a week.
  15. Peeps, sounds like we are in that part of the journey where we are seeing the glass half empty and not half full. I am going through this stinkin thinkin where I don't see progress so I start going back to bad eating habits. We need to start a July Butterfly challenge! How much should the challenge be?
  16. Tell me about the sleeve surgery. Is it going to be open or laparoscopic?
  17. Lovegrapes, I would talk to them about a gastric sleeve if they take the band out. My doctor highly recommends them. I just wish my insurance would have paid for one. I asked the Dr. last week about it and he said ins co. are still not paying for it in Texas.
  18. JANET.........just checking in. Not much to report other than I am back to walking every day. The ticker is not moving, but I am not discouraged. I want you to have a great time on your cruise. When will you be back? I am not getting email notifications from LBT so I have not been good at checking in. Take Care! Drink a Miami Vice for me.........I just love those things and I don't drink.
  19. Long, join the club..... Oh, well, the older you get the more you don't want people to remember it. WOW! a size ten..........the only size ten I wear is shoe size. LOL. That is just awesome. YOU GO GIRL!
  20. I agree with lovegrapes. I think you might need to go back to your doctor and tell them your problem. I know in my situation my eating habits are my problem . I admit I thought the band was a somewhat of a majic bullet for me......I was wrong. It is just a tool. Now, had I had a gastric sleeve(insurance would not pay) I would have had a much easier time losing, and I probably would be close to goal. Anyway, what is the saying"Slow and steady wins the race".....that's me! That is why I have a turtle in the weeds on my ticker.
  21. WOW! The Ambien CR gives me night terrors. I bought some stuff at GNC....5-HTP......have you heard of it. I saw an article in First magazine so I am going to try it.
  22. It has taken me 7 mos to learn how to eat without getting stuck.....and I still get stuck. I got a fill on Monday and yesterday I ate half of an eggroll and got stuck. I ate it too fast and it had shrimp in it. If you are eating too fast and not chewing you probably are not too tight. If you are chewing your food good and throwing up......then maybe you are too tight. The band can be fickle. I believe I would have not lost this much weight without the band. It is work, but you can do it. Work with it and it will work for you.
  23. Joiful, I am so sad to hear about all of your health issues. My husband has a neuro stimulator in his back. It does take care of the pain in his leg. He is having gastric bypass in June. He is able to walk and swim. So, no there is help for your pain. You should be able to walk and swim. Stay on your lap band journey because the more weight you lose the pain will ease up. You just need support. Start reading and posting again. I hope you recover quickly from your surgery. My husband had three surgeries for his stimulator and the recovery was minimal. Take Care!
  24. Donna, you look so good in the new picture. WTG!
  25. BACK AT YA! Hey, about those papaya tabs.....when do you take them? I told the PA yesterday that when I get stuck it is mainly trapped gas. She suggested I take gas-x before I eat. Then I thought about those papaya tabs you take. Do they help with the gas and digestion?
