  1. Buddies, just checking in........nothing to report other than this cortisone injection helped my back , but I am so hungry that I want to graze all day long. I don't think a fill would help. I think I am scheduled for one on the 16th. I sure hope I lose a few by then. Julie, I am praying for you. Orea, you are in my prayers too.
  2. Girl, you have a lot of milestones to reach. Me......well, as you can see my ticker has not moved yet. I did lose about three.....then gained......then now I am back down, but not ready to move the ticker. I got that cortisone injection in my back last week now I am so hungry. I feel like I am in bandster hell.
  3. Oh WOW! I had no idea you had been going through such an ordeal. Bless your heart. Take it easy and don't rush the recovery. Katy is recovering too from surgery. She is still posting. We were so excited when we finally heard from her. Orea, take care! We have missed you!
  4. Julie....OMG........you poor baby! You must have been going through horrific pain. You are in my prayers! Please keep in touch! Take care!
  5. I just don't understand why insurance companies will not pay for the gastric sleeve if it has better success than the band. My insurance company would not pay for a sleeve.
  6. Sounds Awesome. I make a chicken salad with chicken,ff mayo, chopped celery, chopped grapes, and pecan pieces. I can't wait to try yours.
  7. Just checking in..........my grandson is off ventilator and should be home in a week........I got a shot in my back yesterday.......Yea, pain relief in my back..........but now another problem........I am so hungry I feel like I am in bandster hell. Has anyone else gotten cortisone shot and expereinced the hunger? I thought the band would take care of that, but my stomach was growling this morning. The only way I can keep in check is journaling. I hope this goes away soon.
  8. AWESOME, DONNA! I went to see DIL and grandson. He is coming off the ventilator today and she passed a kidney stone. Things are looking up. Now, my ticker needs to move too. I am going to get serious with my journaling. That is what keeps me in check.
  9. Janet.........Amen! about the sugar. I have let it creep back into my diet.....hence.......no weight loss. Gotta stop it! Well, I am off to see my DIL and new grandson. They may take him off of the ventilator today. His lungs are getting stronger. My DIL passed a kidney stone last night and is much better today. My DS has been a real trooper through this trial. So as you can see I have been turning to food for stress relief. I am having an injection put in my back tomorrow. I should be able to do more than walk if the shot works. Will check in later!
  10. Does LBT have a site on facebook? Yeah, I think we are all in a slump. I guess we all need to change up we are doing. I was going to go on the pouch test , but stress stopped me. My grandson was born on Monday. He was three weeks early and his lungs aren't fully developed. So, He is on a ventilator. His mother has kidney stones.....so there is alot of stress in our lives right now. I know ....no excuses. I just have been grazing and not journaling. Friday I am getting a cortisone injection in my back. I sure hope I don't gain weight from it. Yes we can do this!
  11. I'm pepped up!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes WE CAN!!!!!!! I am getting a cortisone injection in my back on friday so I should be able to start some serious exercising. I want to walk more than 2 miles at a time, but my back and leg say NO YOU Don't! I am hoping the shot will change things. By the way, Orea where are you? We haven't heard from you in a long time.........come back!
  12. Hey, where is everyone? How are you doing? My ticker is stuck, but it is my fault. I am not journaling and eating too many calories and carbs. I need a pep talk!
  13. Gypsy Girl, I know what you mean..........I am stuck too. I talked to my doctor last month about my weight loss, and he said that exercise is the key to successful weightloss. I agree, but also I have found that when I don't journal I eat too many carbs and calories. We have to remember it is a lifestyle change......not a quick fix. We can do this!
  14. Janet, baby and DIL are better this morning. He weighed 6lb15ozs. He had a little Fluid on his lungs so he was in the NICU this morning. DIL passed her kidney stone last night so she is feeling much better. I haven't held him yet........maybe tomorrow.
  15. Janet..........AWESOME PICS!!
  16. Thanks to all for prayers. I just hope this helps her get over the kidney stones. She has been in alot of pain. They live in Houston. So I am only about 30 minutes from the hospital. This will be number nine for grandkids.....only the second grandson. Joann.........HAVE A GREAT TRIP!!!!!!!!!!!!! JANET............WELCOME HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. Joann.......I wished you lived by me so I could take quilting classes from you. You will be a hit in Korea. I bet you find some awesome fabric there. Katy.......You are on my prayer list. The Lord will see you through all of this. I know you must feel like Job, but you will get better. Take care of yourself!
  18. OOPS!....I do have news. My new grandson will be born today by c-section. Please say a prayer for my daughter-in -law. They are taking him early because she has kidney stones. She had gastric bypass two years ago so she only gained 15lbs. The baby weighs over 6lbs now. He will be 3 weeks early.
  19. Julie.........not much to report. It is beautiful today.....just finished walking. I am sorry you have to endure all that snow. I hope you get relief soon. By the time it gets here it is thunderstorms. I started back on pepcid yesterday, and I didn't slime or pb. I think the acid in my stomach was causing excessive gas which made me feel stuck. We will see. It sure was nice to eat and not feel stuck. I took pepcid for years and stopped a month after I was banded. I guess because of stresses in life I started having an over acid stomach again. Janet...........WE MISS YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! APPLES.........YOU TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. crzytchr, Awesome Pics! You look great!
  21. Lovegrapes, the endoscopy may get the the problem. Maybe it is something they can fix with meds. Well, I think I found a help for my getting that stuck feeling. I started taking pepcid again and today I ate all day without feeling stuck. I think the acid in my stomach was causing me to feel stuck after a few bites. Anyway, I hope it works. I had taken pepcid for years and stopped a month after surgery. Maybe I just need it now.
  22. Amen! We all need the "talk". I know what you mean about getting lax. And you are right about the chew , chew , chew......when I slow down I eat alot less. We are all in the same boat. 70lbs is awesome. Change things up...you will lose. Long, I went to the back dr. I am getting an injection in my back next week. I just hope I don't gain weight from it. The doctor said the walking is good , but my core muscles are very weak from all the abdominal surgeries. I must start working on my core. So, I bought one of those VQ Action chairs. You can sit and do resistance training. I tried standing and doing the bands, but it makes my back hurt. I hope this helps.
  23. I find walking helps with my fatigue. It kinda cleans out the cobb webs in my mind. Considering all that you are going through, fatigue is probably normal. Establishing an exercise program before your surgery will help you. I started walking 6mos before surgery. I don't go fast, but just moving helps.
  24. I guess all of us are getting a piece of that storm. We had t-storms today and the front should move in tomorrow. Hey, I told the dr. how I would get stuck because of the gas on my stomach. She said to try taking Gas-x before I eat. So, before we went out to eat tonight I chewed a gas-x, and I was able to burp between bites and not get stuck......Probably TMI, but I thought I would share.
  25. Lcubed...........Hello!....Welcome!..........Jump on!.....we are all on this bandwagon together!
