I'm here to help...
HI Peeps, I am home from babysitting. Now I have to go pick up the two year old. My DD is not getting any sleep at night. The baby has her days and nights mixed up. So DGD will stay with me for a couple of hours white DD gets a nap. I just wonder how I did all of this with two toddler boys and new born DD. It is all a blur to me now. I must have been in shock. lol Jodi, when looking at the pics I think about what a good time you and your friend gave us. Thanks again! Spinning. I just look in that room when I go to the gym, and I am so grateful I don't spin.....I have a "candy a$$". I used to ride with my DH on street bikes.....I even had those padded bike shorts......and it still hurt. That is not my thing. Good luck! on spinning and the interview. Apples, I dont't have to worry about skinny jeans, leggings, and boots. They don't make them big enough for my calves. I hope to wear them one day. Sndy ......yep, I like babysitting little tiny ones. When they get demanding at five.....I kinda get the dreads if it is more than 4 hrs. My mother always worked when my kids were little so they did not get to enjoy her. She really regrets it too. I am blessed to be able to stay at home now and help out when I am needed. I think I may need a fill. It has been a year. I am eating too much food at one time. I guess I need to make an appointment. Lori.....tomorrow? we find out the sex of your new grandbaby? yay!!!! Tx......how is it going today?

Joyce, I want to thank you again for the pictures. I still look at them and think how awesome it was to fellowship with my lap band buddies. When I went to the doctor's support group the other night I did not realize it was only for our group on Wednesday. That is why it was so small. Those ladies are nice, but we don't have time to share like we do on this thread. I doubt I will see them again. I know I will see y'all again. I hope you have a great time in Guam. That is a long trip. Our flight to Hawaii was bound for Guam. It had a lot of people going there. Do you stop in Houston on the way?

Good Morning Posse! Phyl........Prayers for Earl this morning......check in when you can. Love ya! Apples, the apron is a potential problem of infection being you work a lot out side in the heat. It is not cosmetic. Laura.......glad you check in......Friday.....WooHoo! Thanks for sharing the family pics! Lori, wow! I am so glad you got that wax out before flying again. My mother has that problem with wax. After her last bout with pneumonia she lost her hearing in one ear.........it was wax. We were so glad it could be fixed by washing her ear out. Okay, off to babysit. DD has her six week check up. I get to spoil my new DGD. I am going to weight training tonight. UGH! My back is hurting today. Maybe it will help. Julie.......how is the wedding stuff going? Eva......miss ya! Janet.....don't drown in the desert today....your boots will keep you dry, and looking good!

Me too! I just hate this apron, but I need to empty the pockets first. lol At least fifty lbs. I went to the dermatologist last month and my GP. They both documented the rashes. The skin doc said I need to take a picture of the rash when it flares up. The insurance company will ask for pics. I walked this morning and I thought DH and I were going to the gym.......NOT. He was too tired. We have a session with the trainer tomorrow eve. Laurak.....have fun on your girls weekend Tx......you are doing so well on your pre op plan. Yep, us Texans have to put Rotel in everything. I find the Rotel with cilantro and lime is awesome. I like it better than the regular. I ordered the PB2 from Netrition. They have good prices on their Protein supplements. Lori, how is your ear this eve? Janet, Rain? for you? is Hell freezing over too? lol Have you heard from Phyl? How did Earl do in surgery? Isa......Sounds like you found a plan that works.......WTG! Eva......are you home yet? We miss you! Okay, gang.......gotta go watch DWTS. I have missed most of it this season.

Girls, I know.......I have been battling getting back on track. I did start eating fruit instead of junk. That has helped my sweet tooth. Oh, I went to support last night. Dr. Davis' wife made a healthy pizza. She grilled two kinds of squash, peppers, onion, and eggplant. Then she chopped it up and put in on a whole wheat pizza crust slathered with roasted garlic hummus. she topped it with goat cheese. It was delicious. I will definitely make one. He wants us to go vegetarian. I am not there yet. I still like a steak twice a month, not to mention chicken. I am working on it. He said if all I ate was veggies , fruits, and nuts I wouldn't gain weight. I am not training for Iron Man triathlon like he is...... get real.

Peeps, I am back from a long discussion about healthy eating. I did not know it was just for our nutrition class so there were only six of us there and Dr. Davis with his wife. His wife made the pizza. It was delish. She grilled zuchinni, yellow squash, eggplant, onion, and bell peppers. Then she chopped them up very small and piled the veggies on a whole wheat crust slathered in roasted garlic hummus. She topped it with goat cheese. I didn't eat the crust, but she had put it on the grill too. Dr. D is a vegetarian now. He said if all you eat is veggies, fruits, and nuts.......and of course exercise you will be a lot healthier. Oh, he showed us a film on how they produce the animals we consume. Kinda gross....a lot of them are diseased and they still approve them for consumption. He also said a lot of the free range chickens are not free range. I understand where he is coming from.....it will take me a while to give up my steak twice a month. Really, after seeing Jakob's steer, JZ, and knowing where it is going after thursday......kinda tough. Dr Davis said I should do Water aerobics and 10,000 steps a day. What? Just because he is training for an Iron Man doesn't mean I have to. Sorry, I forgot to get pics of him with the pizza.

Phyl......Congrats! on the hour of Water aerobics.....slow and easy wins the race.....well, close! Also, PRAYERS and HUGS for Earl's surgery tomorrow.....right? Thanks for the props on my GS. He is on cloud nine, but the parents and Gparents are on cloud ten! msampson.....I haven't reached my 100lb loss. I was up for about a year.....then discouraged for months when I reached a plateau....then I went on a liquid diet for 3 months and lost another 34lbs. Now I am at a plateau again, but the difference is I am exercising and feeling good about reaching goal. If you stall.....mix it up! Okay, I am dressed and ready to go to support group tonight and see Dr. Davis make this healthy pizza. I am taking my camera. I hope he will let me take a few pics. Later peeps!

Welcome home Lori! Glad you had a great time.......can't wait to hear about the baby. That was me griping about OUR Walmarts. We have three here and they have removed their fabric departments. Don't get me wrong, I love Walmart, and it has been a good employer for many of my friends and family. I just wish they didn't delete their fabric departments. I used to go to mom and pop fabric stores before Walmart. I am grateful I still have Hobby Lobby, and of course we have a quilt shop. Okay, so far I have had a Protein Drink, two coffees, then I caved and ate a salad with 4oz of grilled chicken. I also had a pear. i bought them last week and just can't let them go to waste. The plan today is two more Protein drinks. Dr. Davis is making a healthy pizza tonight. I sure hope he is making enough for us to taste. Oh, I did go to Water aerobics. I just love it. I don't know why I resisted going for so long. Thanks for encouraging me. Sndy.....Thanks. My DGS is so proud. Now I hope he gets a good price at the Auction.

Good morning peeps! I am weaning myself off of carbs for a few days. I had gotten out of control. I drank two coffees with ProJo. Now I am going to drink a Honey Milk Protein drink. Tx......WTG! on you plan. If you keep a ice chest full of Protein drinks and food you can snack on you will continue to suceed. Planing is key. Sndy....how is Charlie? Eva.......you home yet? Lori......Miss ya! Julie......sorry your pain issues are coming back. Is the weather changing. Our weather went from dry to humid and my feet and back were nagging me yesterday. I hope you have a prosperous week. Rest between wedding projects. HUGS! Apples, I guess you are working today.......enjoy! Don't let those stalkers get you down. Janet's Posse is here for you!!!

Me too ! I always worked until I retired in 2000. I am sorry I vented about my son. I guess I am just frustrated that he let his early upbringing by his dad take over his lifestyle. Kimaly is right. Some people are just born with that slacker gene.......just like I was born with the fat gene. You have to fight those genes everyday or they will take over. How well I know. By the way, my grandson won first place at the county fair showing his steer in the lightweight category. I am so proud of him.

Woohoo!!!!! DGS got first place in his category at the fair. I think he showed an Angus steer. He was the smallest kid showing and he did so good. I was so proud. He didn't get Grand Champion or Reserve, but hey this was his first time and he won't be 9 till next month. Well, I tried a new Protein drink from Walmart. It is Honey Milk Light. 150 calories, 3.5 fat, 14g carbs, 3 Fiber, and 20g protein. I tasted it first. They had samples. The chocolate and coffee are good. There is no aftertaste.....you know that Vitamin taste. They are 2.50 each. That's cheaper than Pro Jo. Oh and they are Lactose-free. I am going to Water aerobics in the morning. I did not do any exercise today. I need a day off once a week. Anyway, I am pooped.

Yeah, the insurance thing is twisted. Like I heard someone comment on the new healthcare plan.....Taxes are going up......and Grandma is going down. I want people who can't work to get healthcare, but slackers that have made a profession of working the system.....well, I won't say it. My son, who got laid off last January has made no attempt to work because he is getting all the perks for not working. Let's see....free healthcare for my gkids, unemployment benefits, veteran benefits for college, disability from the service......and has milked them all. I figure he is making about 5,000 tax free a month. He has no incentive to find a job because they extended his unemployment. I should be grateful.....he would be hitting me up for money if the government wasn't paying him to sit on his a$$. Sorry, it is just that we adopted him and saved him from a dad that never worked. It just bugs me to see him take the same road. I know I got off track.......just venting. By the way, I bought stuff to start a five day pouch test. I am just waiting for my husband to join me. It wouldn't hurt him to shrink is pouch too. Okay, I am off to the county fair to see my grandson show his steer. later peeps!

YAY Apples! I am glad you are back! You too Joyce......and the smaller outfit....congrats! I just put together the new Lysol hands free soap dispenser. Oh boy, now the G-kids will surely wash their hands once they pass their hand across it. Oh, Apples, I ordered the PB2 from Netrition. I also got a couple of cases of my favorite Protein bar......Light Muscle Milk Peanut chocolate caramel....a good price too 14.95 for twelve. Janet, that is a good score considering you don't bowl very often. My DH and I met bowling. We were on a teenage team together. We bowled in a few leagues together. He wanted to be a professional bowler. His average was always over 200. We haven't bowled in years since all our joints and backs went south. I would be lucky to bowl a 50. Goodnight Y'all !!!

Janet, i forgot about Lori writing in purple.....How is this color? Charcoal? Well, I finally went through my make-up. I have so much make-up that hasn't even been opened......mostly HSN and QVC stuff. Anyway, I have it boxed up for my Granddaughters. They will be thrilled to get all that Smashbox eye make-up. I bought all the stuff for the pouch test. I gave my DH a copy of the five day pouch test. I am just waiting for him to say okay. I hope we can start it next week. Maybe this color is Navy? Anyway, I am gonna use it. One day, so sorry you had been frightened like that. When I worked in Hawaii we had a bomb threat. i was so glad we were on the 3rd floor. I hope you can find another job soon. In Texas kids can get on chips when parents are laid off. It doesn't hurt to go apply for your son. If you don't qualify they may know of an organization that can help you with supplies for your diabetes and medication for your son. I may not check in till late tomorrow. I have church, babysitting DGD, and then the fair. Have a Great Sunday!

I am using purple.......who uses purple? Congrats Linda!!! Awesome win!!! I don't know about being new, but healthier....yes! My weight has not moved, but I did go down a half size in my calves. I did order a smaller size Jacket......from QVC. I just love their clothes.......especially their coats and jackets. Phyl........HUGS and Prayers for EARL. I think the older we get any time we are put under we get anxious. I hope a speedy recovery for him. Please keep us informed. Thanks gang, for all the Congrats for Jakob. I haven't talked to him. He is busy getting ready to show tomorrow. You have to practically live at the fair when you are showing an animal. You have to feed, keep the pen clean, and all the prepping for the showing. Janet.....good luck on the bowling! Jodi.....Congrats on the workout! Laurak.....keep us up on the new "friend". Lori......Laying on Waikiki? Eva......miss ya! Julie.....one more week....right? Joyce......where are you? Tx.....How's it going today? Kim......you won't regret getting a pedometer to get started. I use mine everyday. 1 day.....???? where are you? Jessica....school? Apples....miss ya! Cheri........enjoy the singing. I wish we had taken time to here you sing a Hymn. I bet you have an awesome voice. Laura.....where are you today? Playing with Nels I am sure. Peaches....good to hear from you! kasai.....Are you feeling better about being banded? Okay, ladies......I have a mess of groceries to put up. I shopped at Walmart. They are remodeling. It looks like Super Wal is downsizing their inventory. The aisles are huge. I did hear on TV that Walmart is going to build smaller grocery stores. That's great. They ran off the mom and pop stores.......now they are building mom and pop stores without the personal touch. I used to buy my fabrics from them.....ran off the mom and pop fabric stores......now they quit carrying fabric.. I better stop griping. I am grateful I live where I have choices. Take care all!!!!

What is the 5 day book? Hey, gang........where are you? I went to water aerobics twice this week, walked twice, and weight training one day. I was supposed to go tonight, but after water aerobics....I am pooped. I want to go to water aerobics 3 times a week and weight training 2 times. As far as weight goes......I think I gained last week, but I have dialed back my carbs this week. I need to weigh once a week. Going to nutrition classes kept me accountable. I may have to adjust my schedule and go back. Dr. Davis is speaking Monday night. He is going to teach us how to make a healthy pizza. I will share with y'all on Tuesday. OKay, peeps........check in this weekend!!! Be accountable!!!

Kasiaya, Surgery is scary for most people. For me, this was one of my least scary surgeries. I am 2yr and 3mos out from my surgery. I have lost half way to my goal. With the help of these people on this thread I keep pushing forward to the goal. You need support. Keep seeking support on this site plus go to the support groups your surgeon offers. Who is doing your surgery? i live south of Houston and Dr. Garth Davis is my surgeon at Memorial Herman. As far as you husband goes......explain to him you will be changing your way of eating. This is a lifestyle change. Eating the stuff that put your weight on will not work. The band is a tool.......one of many in your lifestyle tool box. Exercise, journaling, support, and positve thinking are some other tools you will need to use. Please continue to ask questions. It may ease your anxiety. HUGS!

Aloha!!!! If you don't have a good time in Hawaii.....you won't have a good time anywhere. I hope DD gets her flight. Want to see pics! Good morning gang! I just fixed a eggwhite/oatmeal pancake.......boy, it is filling. I can only eat half of it. This time I made it with 1/4c eggwhite, 1/4c quick oats, 1 Tablespoon Splenda brown sugar. It was yummy, but I am miserable after eating . I am off to Water aerobics in about an hour. Then tonight we have weight training. Kim, when I started exercising six months ago I bought a pedometer. My first goal was 6,000 steps. Before I knew it I was doing 10,000 steps. I did wear it all day( walking and daily activity). Try it. You will be wanting to do more. Linda, I am so sorry your Katie is not doing well. I thought she was doing better. HUGS! Julie, sounds like you have plenty of ammunition to fight the pain. Don't forget to rest. Janet, I am glad to see you and Andrew working together on his future. We had helped our kids with apartments when they were in school. It sounds like he wants to be responsible. He loves you dearly. I don't think he wants to disappoint you. Jodi, thanks for the info on dog training. Charlie responds to treats, but we cannot get him to stop barking at anyone who leaves the house. Got any suggestions? LauraK.....how is the Yoga going? That is a goal for me......to take yoga. Joyce......you are doing great!

Are you sure???? Don't tell my DH......I'm glad he doesn't watch the Doctors. lol Well, I had to make your cake again. There is a lady in town with stage 4 breast cancer. They are having a benefit and auction for her starting tomorrow. She has small children. I also made one for Jakob because he did not get to taste it. My ex DIL loved it. Congrats on buying skinny jeans. Yeah, I bet a long belted blouse or sweater will look great on you. Janet.....thanks for posting the Home Journal tips. I agree will all of them. Tx Chris......sounds like you are doing great by planning your meals. Keep it up! Joyce......Thanks on the props for exercise. I did walk pup this morning and will walk this evening. I can't believe how much I enjoy exercising......that is really a lifestyle change. Has Lori left for Hawaii? Julie......I hope you continue to get relief. The big day will be here soon. HUGS and PRAYERS for you! Eva......are you home yet???? Miss ya! I think I will buy some of that PB stuff......gonna look it up now. later peeps!!!

Yep, you are in starvation mode when it is only 600. Protein shakes have over 20 protein, and just a few carbs-fats. I would think you need at least 1000-1500c to stay in a safe range. You also need to eat about 5-6 times a day. Plan some extra Snacks. Okay, that is my two cents. Janet, Thanks! I needed that. I was stiff this morning, but not aching. I had a little pain down my leg. I probably used too much weight on the leg presses. My back is still weak, but getting much better. I walked this morning. My pup was happy! Now, for Breakfast. I am making a eggwhite/oatmeal pancake with sf jam. Lunch-chiccken salad- No crackers! snack-protein shake with fruit. Dinner- finish up chicken salad 100 cal popcorn Oh, I started drinking 3oz of red wine with Resveratrol juice( taste like grape juice) It is my new laxative. Hey, whatever works. Right?

Apples, I don't think my trainer knows about FM. I mentioned it, but he seemed kinda clueless, but he said only do what I can. He has realized DH and I have health issues so he doesn't want us to hurt ourselves. I am still going to Water aerobics on Friday and maybe Saturday. I will walk in the morning. Pup is missing his walk everyday. He is getting his little roll around his collar again........so I better give him a workout. Janet!!! What up???? Jodi......sounds like a stressful week. You probably walk a lot. Put on a pedometer and make sure you walk 10,000 steps a day. That will keep the weight down. Take Care!
