How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
Hey Daisy All I can say is hang in there. We're here for you. I was able to eat a regular dinner with no chewing or waiting last night and it was wonderful. Anyway,I gained weight this morning. If I didnt have my fills I would probably put my weight back on in the blink of an eye. So I know it's really hard for you now. Hang in there

Hello Fabulous Fourties!!!
Hi everyone, how are you doing today? I barely ate all day or exercised. Got to get moving. last night I had a weird experience. Went out to eat and was able to drink and eat with no problem it went down so nice and I wasn't taking small bites and eating slow. I was so happy but the scale went up this morning. I don't think it was worth it. Anyway, does this happen to you that sometimes you can just eat?????? Kim - I've been banded one year. Meri - I didn't get the unfil. The doctor sent me for a swollow test and said everything was fine and didn't unfil me. Congratulations for being in the 130's that is so wonderful. I'm really happy for you. See what happens this month before you fil and hang on Java - I definitely think I would have gained the 84 lbs if not for my band. Thank god for the lapband. Take care you Fabuluous Forties and let's be careful at our superbowl partiesl. Deal?

Weigh in... how much have u lost?
I hate to say it. But last night I had a fluke, I went out to dinner with husband and friends and was able to drink, eat and be merry like the old days. Maybe I didn't eat at much as I used to or maybe I did. I don't know but it felt like a picnic. you didn't hear a word from me while I was eating. Here's the bad news - up 3.5 lbs this morning. Won't be doing thisd again even if I can. Have to be very careful at Superbowl party tomorrow with all the goodies. Good luck to all of us.

March Bandsters: MASTER THREAD
Brand new lisa I feel exactly the same way you do about exercise. It's just too much effort for me to go upstairs to my treadmill and get changes and push myself. At least I'm not alone

Hello Fabulous Fourties!!!
Hi you fabuluous forties. Everyone Thanks so much for your support and kind words. Newbies hang in there. It will come. Just remember not to get too frustrated the first one to two months because the band has to keep being adjusted untill you feel restraicted. I saw my doctor every 2 weeks and kept getting fills until I felt some restriction. I would call their office and tell them I needed a fill because I was always hungary and eating alot. Sometimes they had an attitude because I was scheduled for a month, but they were able to usually accomodate me. An update. I saw the doctor today for an unfil and as usual he told me he can't really take anything out other than .25 or .50. I told him it's either too tight or too loose with these adjustments but he can't seem to find a middle ground. Then I was reading a brochure on the realize band and it said that this band only holds 1.8 of a teaspoon. That's it. So no wonder why its so hard for them to make these inbetween ajustments when your really playing with hardly any liquid. So compare that to your own band. Anyway, he sent me for a swollow test to see what was going on, to see if my treachea or anything was wrong from throwing up. He seemed satisfied that I was fine and did not take anything out. So I'm where I started. But that's better than him taking out too much. Sorry about the long post, but maybe this info. can help someone. I would like to think it does. Miss Meliss Happy birthday. You go girl. I know what you mean/ 80lbs is tremendous. Congrats. How did you lose it so fast? I'm optomistic too. Got 30 more lbs to goal too.

NJ 2009 Chat - Jan, Feb and March
Hi everyone I have to say 2 days after my anniversary, I ate like a horse tonight. I went out to dinner with friends. How I got it down, without chewing alot and eating slow is beyond me. I thought I needed an unfil. oh how wrong, I just don't know what happened that I was able to eat like that. It was a fluke .I must say it felt sooo good and I was sooo happy. I totally blocked out my band. But I have to tell you if I didn't have my band I probably would have gained 86 lbs this year instead of losing it. Thank god for my lapband.

Congtatulations Long2bthin - This is a major! You deserve it as I'm sure you worked hard to get here in only 8 months. Great work. How did you do it? Today is my bandaversary and I'm down 84lbs; it took me a year. So if you have any suggestions please let me know. May other wonderful things happen to you also.

Jammin January '07 Bandsters
Today is my Bandaversary. I'm down 84 lbs but I don't see it. I'm only focused on the other 35lbs that need to come off. Maybe then I could appreciate my weight loss. I did notice that when I did the treadmill last week I did lose a lb the following morning. You know what that means. Uggg

Hello Fabulous Fourties!!!
Hey Meri Thanks. I went to a support group and my doctor was there and he said I need an unfill. So I get one on Friday. Hh thinks I'm too restricted. And maybe I am but they tend to take out too much when they do an unfil and this makes me anxious. I'd hate to start regaining. Its wonderful that you've reached your goal. You must feel so great about that. How come the fill? Talk to you later. Caryn

How the Lap-Band actually works, fills and refills
Oregondaisy I appreciate your post. Thank you. How are you doing with the looser band. Do you have to chew, chew, chew or can you take bigger bites. I'm so frusted with eating protein and the small morsels of beef or chicken, etc that I can eat. I've been considering an unfil so I can eat a little bit more "normal" I just miss eating without any rules and guidlines to follow in terms of small bites, slow and chew. Are you stil losing weight with the looser band. Thanks for your help

Jammin January '07 Bandsters
Sunshine I'm glad to hear you're getting better. It must have been a major operation. We;'re having a heavy snow right now n Jersey. We are practically the same weight (165) and my scale is barely moving. Look forward to hearing from you and feel better.

Hello Fabulous Fourties!!!
Anne Happy Birthday - you're still a baby LOL - How's it been going since being banded?

Hungary and Eating at night
I just had a protein drink in milk. I think it tastes better with milk and it adds protein. I also had a slimfast bar that tastes more like a candy bar. Maybe I won't eat anything else tonight. I just realized CarolNY, Loseweightin08 and me were all banded in January 08. That's pretty nice that we all are on this site. Maybe we should start a January 08 group,.

Hungary and Eating at night
I'm glad your allergies feel better. I agree, somedays are easier to eat than others. I just realized how much you've lost in a year - Hurray for you - Congratulations. This is wonderful. I'm 30-40lbs from goal. 3 lbs to goal. You can do it. I had an unfil of .25cc in December 9 because I couldn't hold any food down. It's a little better but I'm still thinking about a little more of an unfil. I think if I can get more food in me I'll lose weight. Like if I can get more Protein in. I'm so sick of Protein drinks. What would you do? Fill or unfil, that is the question.
