  7. I will have to give myself blood thinner shots for 7 days after surgery per my surgeon. Its standard procedure for the program I am going through. I gave my husband his shots after his sleeve 2yrs ago and it was no big deal, very thin needle. Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App

  10. BCBS MN required 6 months of supervised diet by PC doctor or dietician. I just got my approval today. It took 8 business days for approval. They told me it could take up to 10 business days for approval. Now I'm just waiting on a surgery date. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
  11. I had a lapascopic hysterectomy in 2001 and just got approved today for surgery, waiting on surgery date. I hope the sleeve is as easy as my hysterectomy was. I rebounded quickly and easily. Very little pain and no complications. Actually, my breast reduction in 2007 was more difficult than the hysterectomy. I wish you the best on your journey. 15. My paperwork was submitted yesterday, 8/15 and can take up to 10 business days for processing. My surgeon's schedule is 1 month out, so I am probably looking at end of September or early October. I hate this waiting, I just want to know if I am approved or not. 16. Good to know, taking 2k daily, shocked at how low my level was. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
  17. I know they do a lot of pre-op lab work and assume any deficiencies are noted and dealt with. I've been on Vitamin d the last 3 months because of the deficiency and hope my level will be good before surgery. I'm waiting on insurance approval as of today. Thanks for the quick response. Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
  18. Does anyone know if a Vitamin d deficiency might prevent the surgeon from doing the sleeve? Also, how long does it take the body to recover from a deficiency once you start taking your daily vitamin d? Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App

  22. With most insurance you have your deductible and max out of pocket. For me it was 3k deductible and 5500 max out of pocket. I have bcbs mn. I have met my deductible and real close to meeting my max out of pocket. Once that happens, insurance will pay 100%. Hope this helps! Sent from my SM-N910P using the BariatricPal App
  23. Hi Sandy, welcome. I will be going to my last dietitian visit 8/11 and then submitted to insurance for approval. I'm excited and nervous too. My insurance required 6 months too. I have BCBS MN. Sent from my SM-T350 using the BariatricPal App
