  1. I'm also a 9/13!!! Hi, you are quite fortunate...for the gas and bloating I have had are most frustrating. I've also been up and about more than I or even some others, thought I would be. That part is good! Good luck with pureed food stage--I'm so looking forward to making some good healthy fresh veggie /protein blended Soups as Autumn arrives!
  2. I decided to have a resource guide at home, so I bought _The Big Book on The Gastric Sleeve_ by the founder of BariatricPal.com and was just reading about the gas and bloating I am having at day 5. I've been doing Jello ok since day 2 in the hospital. I'd be very concerned at 3 weeks if I were having your symptoms. I vote for calling doc on call immediately! Deborah
  3. Congratulations! This site, and stories like yours, keep my courage alive for next month! I have battled a 130 pound gain for 20 years now--I just hope that by November I am as glad about the decision as you are!!!
  4. You are inspiring hope even though I am in a whirlwind of conflicting feelings as the process progresses toward surgery! Thank you!!! Deborah
  5. 1. A coworker had the surgery 6 weeks ago, and she has been cheering me on since she found out why I was drinking "premier protein" shakes. During an oversharing confession session one day in my office, I told her that I was worried about what some people were going to say about me having surgery rather than losing weight "The natural way." How are people dealing with the criticism and the inaccurate thoughts that surgery is the EASY way out? 2. You see, I've vacillated for 2 years now, losing 15 pounds in the bariatric program only to gain it back. --and I've been fighting this battle for 20 years almost to the day! I'm tired and worn down, suffering from the daily pain of RA and Lupus now. Plus I am frightened that I will gain the weight back if I lose it...that the reasons that I gained this 130 pounds will continue to haunt me even after the surgery. 3. It seems that I don't have the self-caring any longer (and that I haven't in such a long time); I'm certainly no longer trying to be thin and sexy to catch a man at age 52! What are your motivations? Any thoughts on the above??? Deborah
