  13. I am one of those people whose preop testing saved my life. My echocardiogram found that I have cardiomyopathy. It caught it early and it is reversible. I went on to have my WLS knowing I wouldn't have issues with anesthesia because we sorted out my heart before the surgery. It's frustrating to have delays but it's all about keeping you safe and healthy. Good luck! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

  17. During my preop testing I was discovered to have cardiomyopathy. I feel lucky that because of WLS testing it was caught early and is treatable. I was still able to have WLS, I just had to get the heart issues addressed first. My heart Dr okayed the surgery once he saw enough improvement and he said the surgery would help my heart even more now that I was stable. I'm sorry you are having heart troubles of your own. Once you address them and get your body as healthy as you can I hope that they will approve your WLS so that you can become even healthier. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

  20. I'm supposed to be getting 90g of Protein a day but at 12 days out I'm struggling to get the Protein shakes down. I didn't mind them so much preop but now the flavor is gag inducing and everything else I've tried has been worse. After the first one I feel very full for the rest of the day. I'm only getting 25g a day. I know I need more. I get faint several times a day and my Dr. wants me to eat more to remedy that. I'm a bit frustrated and hoping it will get easier. On the happy side, I have no problem getting my fluids in and I'm down 14 pounds since the surgery and 39 pounds overall. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  21. I had chronic migraines and was ready to start the botox treatments when my neurologist suggested a preventative called protriptyline. I went from migraines 4 days a week to migraines once or twice a month. Everybody is different and responds differently to medication but that is what works for me! I also take an abortive when I feel a migraine starting called rizatriptan. The sooner I take it the better! Good luck. Migraines are hard. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

  23. My doctor requires a week of clear liquids to allow for healing. He is very conservative. Every doctor is different and you can always call to see if you can start your protein shakes early. I've been pretty woozy and faint so I started mine today instead of tomorrow with permission. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  24. I'm in the Fife/Tacoma area. Dr. Srikanth has a monthly support group for his patients in Federal Way. A group of are meeting in July in Federal Way if anyone would like to join! Most of us have been sleeved recently but any WLS at any stage would be welcome. There is an RNY and someone preop as well. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App

  27. I just realized I haven't been taking my acid reducer! It's sitting in the back of the cabinet. Thanks! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  28. @@Seastars, @@Tommy Joe, @ACJordan: pm me your email address and name on fb of you'd like to be invited to the group event there. We could even start a private fb group to share pics and stuff more easily! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  29. I'm 5 days post op and I am fairly hungry, especially when making food for the kids. I'm looking forward to protein shakes in 3 days! I'm also very, very gurgly since yesterday. It's like a second wave of gas is grumbling through me. My stomach will not quiet down! My kids find this hilarious. Me, not so much haha! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  30. Are most of you all on facebook? If you are comfortable with it, I could create a private event and invite you all which would make it easy to see who could come and who couldn't. Maybe we can make this a monthly thing! I think right now we have Seastar, kadie777, me, and possibly Tommy Joe and ACJordan. Am I missing anyone? Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  31. I'm on the Clear Liquids, 4 days post op, and while I'm not starving I'm also feeling somewhat hungry much of the time. Not sure if it is always true hunger or if it is head hunger but I can't wait to eat real food again. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  32. Bwahahahahahaha! I'm with you! Today I stared at my husband while he was eating a turkey sandwich and kept asking him if it was good, what he put on it, and at the height of my weirdness, if I could smell it. I'm starting to feel like one of those vampire movies where the vampire has sworn off humans but is constantly around them. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  33. Let's see if this July 16 at 2pm at the Panera in Federal Way works for most! I'm excited too, @@Seastars! We can practice eating right in difficult situations with people who will be supportive! I've heard that Dr. Srikanth's support group does potlucks and has everybody bring a dish and the recipe so we can try new healthy things. Maybe we could do a picnic toward the end of summer like that? When we are maybe eating real food? Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  34. @@Seastar I'm glad I'm not the only one! Head hunger is going to be my worst enemy. @@Tommy Joe good luck with your surgery! Hope to see you the 16th! Everyone, It sounds like July 16th is a good day for most? Would an afternoon time in Federal Way work? There is both a Panera there and several pho places. Any preferences? Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
  35. I was sleeved on 6/22 too! I'm also struggling with what to do for fun now that food is off the menu. I want to take my kids to a movie but I'm worried that will be too much like torture for me! Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App
