  11. So I'm currently in my last year of law school and an scheduled to get sleeved Sept 14th. This is about 4 weeks into my semester. While I do plan on taking 2 weeks off from work missing more than a week of classes is not the greatest option. I was wondering (1) if there is anyone who gotten sleeved as a student (2) how much time you took off (3) any advice you could give handling the surgery, post op diet, and school. 12. I am going through the same. I'm entering my last year of law school and was hoping to get surgery before the semester started at the end of august. But my Dr assistant is going on vacation and their book until my surgery date Sept 14. I did ask the surgery coordinator to keep me in mine if someone cancels. So I'm currently crossing my fingers for an earlier sugary date. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  13. How long did you wait in between the two surgeries Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App The plastic surgeons I spoke with recommended 6 months at a stable goal weight. I hit goal at a year out and has plastics right at 6 months later. So 18 months from WLS.Thanks so much Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  14. It's honestly going a lot better than expected. First 24h suck. By 48 you still hurting pretty good. I came home day 3 and went to work day 4. I'm EXTREMELY tired and that part is annoying. It's definitely a mental game. There's a depression about being so bored around not being able to eat. Ppl say you will regret the surgery until you don't. I have not had one regret. I knew it wasn't gonna be easy, so I prepared myself. I did a week of Clear liquids. Started full liquids today. Incisions are healing well. Pain is much more like being bruised than terrible now. I'm very surprised with my weight loss for being low BMI. I was 195.8 day of surgery 201 when I left the hospital since they pump you full of fluids and I was 183.2 this AM. So a 12.6 lbs from surgery date and 18 from the post op. That's awesome for the intial weightloss. It also good to hear you went back the 4th day. I will have started my semester already for school and can't take too much time off. Dr. Suggested 2 weeks but I don't have that time to be sitting at home. Also I'd the depression bad or more just an extended food funeral?

  16. How tall are you? And that's a bummer! It was self pay, so glad I didn't have to deal with that. I was BMI 33. A week ago when I got it done. 5'2 and some change. 18. So I finally got my date Sept 14th...yay!!! But to qualify for insurance I have to stay at above 190 to keep my bmi above 35. I'm currently just over 36.This is a little annoying because I want to start implement healthy habits now but can for fear I won't qualify.

  20. I am trying to prepare myself mentally. I still don't know what my family is going to think of me. I know my fiancé doesn't want me to get it. My sister doesn't feel like I need it and has reservations about me doing so, but ultimately my sister said the decision is mine to make and she'll support me with whatever choice I decide. I haven't told my mom/dad. I'm sure my dad will support, but my mom might have something "negative" to say about it. I went through this process before and I ended up not going through with the surgery because of what people were saying about it and fear. All I kept hearing and sometimes still to this day "you're taking the easy way out, you don't need to do that you can do it on your own". Which led me to believe otherwise. I am doing this for me and only me. I've tired so hard and for so long just to not be successful. This is my life to live and I am taking it back. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App While this is my first time going through the process I have also gotten that same "easy way out" and in truth I struggle with the same feeling. But then you realize this process is not easy it is just a nudge in the right direction. It is still up to you to get your weight down and keep it off. So I would say I'm nervous and a bit scared but ready to take my life back for my obesity. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App

  22. So I just got my surgery date today of September 14th. Most of me is super excited. However a small part is sad because my birthday is on the 13th so guess who will be on a liquid diet on her birthday?? This chick! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  23. Oh you need to do the weight loss first - you may end up needing another surgery if not.Yea that's what I'm planning to do after all the drs said the same Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
  24. I qualify for both sugeries however, my pcp, my bariactic surgeon, and a Dr friend all suggested to get the weight loss first then lift what ever needs to be fixed later. Getting the breast reduction first then the wls could change the size and shape of the breast. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using the BariatricPal App
