  1. I made it yesterday and it's delicious but it really doesn't agree with me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. #3 is not crazy to me because I have had the same feelings! It is hard to watch people on tv eating and seeing them take normal bites lol Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. Thank you all so much. Looks like I need to look at trying some new things! These are great ideas Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I have had a cough for almost two weeks. Not terrible but not going away. It's just the crud but it wears me out so my sympathy for you. I'm trying to ignore the scale as I haven't felt well enough to work out. Headed to the pool today so hopefully can get my exercise in there. I posted in another thread that my Protein shakes are making me feel so ill now. There are some really good suggestions there so hopefully I can work around it. I tried the ricotta bake and it is delicious--but it is not agreeing with me. Boo!! Lol. I move on to my next stage tomorrow and can add in fish, eggs, and Peanut Butter. I may wait on eggs which did not agree with me all the time even before surgery Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. They have already posted about not driving on pain meds. The only other thing is that you cannot lift anything over ten pounds. That was a limitation for me. My son is old enough to help so I was set on that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I had a white coated tongue for the first week after surgery. Drinking different things helped plus brushing the tongue and using mouthwash. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. I am on my fourth week post op (June 21 surgery) and I have been doing fine on Protein shakes until the last few days. My diet plan called for two weeks of liquids followed by two weeks of purée (but no meats and no eggs). With two Protein Shakes a day, I was meeting my protein goal (getting close to 70 g). Now I dread drinking them. I get nauseated while drinking and even gagged this morning. I used to be able to drink all 8 oz and now I am lucky to get six in before giving up. I do the purée food at each meal but the only way to get the protein in is through the shakes. So I am pretty frustrated. Any suggestions? I do have lift drinks but not a huge fan and it takes me a long time to work through them. I have also done a scoop of GENEPRO in unsweetened iced tea. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. Six weeks for me Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. My worst nausea was the first day post op. I did throw up a couple of times but it wasn't much of anything (and I HATE throwing up). It was more like what I swallowed just came back up. We determined it was the Lortab and once I switched off that it got a lot better. The nausea medication helped a lot. Now I only get slightly sick to my stomach every once in a while and zero vomiting. I am 3.5 weeks post. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. Yeah I am ready for some real meat and not so many carbs. I don't eat a lot of carbs normally so having grits, mashed potatoes, refried Beans, Etc is not my cup of tea. I have had Greek yogurt but dairy and I never got along too well. But it's just a little longer--one more week--and then I can have fish and other higher Protein. 11. My scale is slowly inching down but more importantly I washed my fave pair of skinny jeans yesterday and put them on today. Totally falling off and the thigh area is really baggy. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  12. I'm not cleared for any kind of weight training until six weeks. I would check with your doc to see what they recommend. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. It depends on your plan. My purée stage (stage 2 of my diet) says no eggs. I am on this stage for two weeks and then I can have eggs. So I can't have the ricotta bake yet. But a lot of people are able to have eggs on this stage. So I think it just depends on your diet plan. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. How's everyone doing? Maggie, I hope you are feeling better. I ended up with some chest congestion and it's like day 5 or 6 of that and I'm really tired of coughing! Lol. Tolerating food pretty well though. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  15. I am taking: B12 (melt) Biotin (melt) 2 flinstones vitamins with iron Calcium chew tablet with vit D twice a day (lunch and dinner) Carafate twice a day Actigall twice a day Prevacid And my blood pressure medicines Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  16. I had my two week checkup yesterday. They said to use neosporin twice a day and the glue will peel off. I can swim when there are no scabs left on the incisions. Fingers crossed that it will be quick! I want to get back in that pool! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Those of you who moved to purée, have you noticed an increase in gas or gas pain? I have done pretty well with gas on the liquid phase but when I eat the purée food, I am getting gas pain more severe and more frequently. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. There's a lot of gas trapped in your stomach area after surgery and walking helps loosen it up so to speak. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I picked up: grits, weight control oatmeal, ricotta cheese, cream of potato Soup, hummus, yogurt, and pudding. I am not allowed eggs yet but seems like a lot of plans allow them. No Peanut Butter either or meat. I am in purée for two more weeks and then can add more. Plan is to eat purée foods for main meals and supplement with Protein shakes and fluids throughout the day Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I had nausea related to the lortab I was given. It made my first post op day pretty miserable. Day 2 was much better. One pain I didn't really understand was when I swallowed, I would get a a strong pain across my chest. I was given medicine for it which helped and it went away really quickly--maybe three days? Also I could only sleep sitting up for about 8-9 days. Other people said they could lay down pretty quickly but I just couldn't. All that said, I was feeling tremendously better just one week out. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  21. I just had my 1st post op appointment today too and only lost 9 pounds. How did you lose so much in a week? Impressive!! Oh sorry, my first checkup was two weeks after. So that 20 is for two weeks. Great job on the 9! That's awesome! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  22. I am home from my checkup. Everything is good and I lost 20.9 pounds. I am now on puréed officially. I can't do the ricotta bake yet--but I am planning to try it in two weeks (no eggs allowed at this point). I did have some ricotta cheese for dinner though lol. I asked about swimming but I have to wait until the incisions have zero scabs. I hope that's soon! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. Was this homemade bean soup or store? I would kill for a good black bean soup or bean soup recipe that is tried and true. I would like to learn to make it myself. Sounds so good. Is the oatmeal baby food flake oatmeal or regular oatmeal. I'd kill for some of that....It was just a Campbell's bean soup. When I added the Water and puréed it, it wasn't much thicker than soup. The oatmeal I got is the weight control kind by Quaker. I haven't tried it yet so I am not sure if I will like it Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. Today is my 2 weeks mark! My checkup isn't until tomorrow afternoon but I've gone ahead and tried some puréed bean soup and some mushy carrots. Both were good but neither filled me up. Still better than just broth and protein drinks! Headed to the grocery store to stock up on items. I can't do eggs or any meat for two more weeks. But I am still excited to add grits and oatmeal and yogurt lol. My scale says I am down about 19-20 pounds. I was hoping for more but I know it will come off. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. Bio Oil was recommended to me and it has pretty good reviews. I ordered some from Ulta.com. My incisions are glued. I am about two weeks out and only one has fallen off. Not sure how healed they are. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
