  1. I met with my surgeon again yesterday... now I'm just waiting on a surgery date for my band to RNY. I'm really really excited, and a little scared, but mostly excited. I think what is making me quite nervous is going into work today to ask for the time off for 'necessary surgery'... I know my boss will be 100% supportive, he's great, but I feel guilty having the time off. I'm not telling anyone (for me it's no ones business) so I just wanted to tell someone I'm excited ???? 2. Thank you so much for your responses, they've really encouraged me... I'm just waiting on my RNY surgery date. I can't believe I've put up with 10 years of stuck food... wishing I could eat fresh fruit, a carrot stick, an apple! So sick of 'stuck face' and excusing myself from the table. I had my band emptied (after discovering a massively dilated oesophagus) and I've managed to lose a little weight and loved enjoying apples, strawberries (OMG they taste so good) and chicken again... can't wait for my surgery date to get going with this weight loss! 3. So... I'm 9 years post - band and awaiting a surgery date for RNY - I didn't realise I had any issues apart from GERD until we did a fill under x-ray/fluro and found a massively dilated oesophagus ????, all of a sudden it was empty band, a worried surgeon and talking 'other options'.. I've never been so miserable! Anyway I'm getting all set for the revision and I'm fine with the potential complications. .. BUT has anyone had a dumping experience at work or in public - that's my only fear... Sent from my SM-G900F using the BariatricPal App
  4. Hi daisygirl10. .. when I had post surgery gas pain I had my husband pat firmly and quickly all over my back (like burping a baby but all over) it really helped move it. The pain was in my shoulder and under my ribs Sent from my SM-G900F using the BariatricPal App OMG, was he brave! If my husband even looked like he was going to touch me, I gave him "the look" and he retreated!VERY! But by day 3 and the pain not moving I was begging for him to do something... my parents are both nurses and they suggested it... not saying it was comfortable but the pain was worth the relief ???? Question about dumping

Thanks - an 'emergency bag' might give me a little peace of mind. I just don't want to cause a fuss or get embarrassed at work. Sent from my SM-G900F using the BariatricPal App
