  2. This is something that concerned me. With bloodwork done at the beginning of my 7 monthly weighins they saw my A1c was high and the doctor changed my insulin. My numbers are falling into line very well - but I gained 8 pounds in one month. I'm extremely nervous about the whole thing too. I'm now overly cautious about eating anything at all - which starts more concern going in my head. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. This makes me giggle. If you've seen the movie "slap shot" you'll giggle too! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I've been doing a soft roll out, so to speak. I've told my bosses, and a few people at my work - a couple friends. I've really only told people I knew would be supportive. I had one negative reaction....a friend that looked me straight in the eye and said "that surgery kills people". I looked straight back and said "I'll die without it". I haven't told my mom yet. She's 88 - and I am not sure how she'd handle it...so I'll tell her closer to a surgery date this fall. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  7. I hope all who've had or are about to have their surgery are doing well! Mine won't be until fall... Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. My doctor told me essentially the same thing that James wrote. Although I haven't shown any signs of apnea, his opinion is that patients show a remarkable improvement post surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
