  1. I'm really sorry. Maybe that will motivate you even more to prove to him that you were serious! My husband is 100% supportive. I even told him last night that I was worried he expected too much because sometimes it can take a while to find restriction. He just kept saying that he knew I was going to do great. The rest of my family is great too. My mom and sister decided to do my 2 week pre-op diet with me so I wouldn't feel alone. I feel very blessed for everyones support. You can and will do it!
  2. I would start by attending some lap band seminars. Usually the surgeon hosts the event. That is how I found mine.Go to the one tomorrow and just see how you feel. I would never deal with anyone I wasn't 100% comfortable with. My doctor just had a way about him. It was never a hard sell and he really took time to answer questions.
  3. can I use that on my pre-op liquid diet? Anyone have experiance with it? GNC - Pro Performance Shop Page: GNC Pro Performance
  4. I start next week. The day I go to my proop class is also the day I start. I'd like to be prepared. Please tell me about what are you drinking for those 2 weeks.
  5. I just got my surgery day! July 9th!!!! WOO HOO:thumbup:
  6. not at all. The band isn't going to make me thin, I will make me thin, the bend will only help. It's a tool, not a solution. I'm still going to have to work hard.
  7. I feel like I have to call or email them all the time in order to get anywhere. I HATE feeling like I bother people but I can't get answers otherwise. I've been waiting for a week to get my surgery scheduled and no one has called me. It usually takes them 2 days to get back to me. It's been such a long process and I want to be able to plan my future some. I just want a flippin date. I know the poor insurance person at my doctors office probably hates me.
  8. Think of them while you are working out. Use their negative comments and put that into a positive outcome. It will make you work harder. Show them that you aren't as powerless as they think!
  9. Where in NC are you? WHo is your Doctor. I'm near Charlotte.
  10. My info was sent to them last thursday. when should I call t check up and what do I ask. TIA!!!
  11. I'm getting banded in Charlotte. Don't quote me on this but I believe that the doctor I am seeing charges $12500. Dr. Vollenger @ Southeast Bariatrics
  12. Chin up! I am sure the pudge you speak of is from the salt. Drink lots of water and it will go away.
  13. My file was just sent to insurance for approval!! I am so excited:teeth_smile:
  14. My doctors office gave me the option
  15. I'mon the waiting list for it but if the study hasn't started by the time I'm approved for surgery Imjust going to go with the injectable
  16. My Doc says no carbonated drinks EVER. No caffine for at least the first 2 months, sounds like some doctors may vary so ask yours. I love my diet cokes but I gave them up for pregnancy and survived. I'm sure I will miss them at first but it's a small l price to pay
  17. Im not sure what it runs on. you can google it. they use it in other countries and I guess have had lots of luck so far
  18. Allergan is planning to release a new type of band that is fulled and unfilled via remote control instead of needle. Maybe thats what she was talking about. The trial study hasn't started yet, they are pending FDA approval.
  19. I am in the final pre approval stage. I just compleated a month of presurgical diet and excersise instruction and now I'm just waiting on my dotor to write a letter and then everything goes to insurance. (core source (medcost)) I have no idea how hard or easy getting approved will be. I have a hard time even loggin on this site because I don't want to get my hopes up. Does everyone feel this discouraged?
  20. Oh, I would totally get if I had started the insurance process but I haven't. Im just waiting to talk to the person to ask her a general question about the insurance process.
  21. I found a doctor I really like but it's taken over a week for two of the people working there to call me back. One is the insuance person who I'm still waiting to talk to because she wasn't in the office the day I went for my consult. I understand that they are very busy but it makes me uncomfortable that I am a new patient and they don't return calls within 1-3 days.
  22. the doctor Im seeing now offers both the lapband and the realize band. He doesn't really have an opinion on which is better. Where can i get some info or can you share with me how you decided? Thanks
  23. I was so excited to be going to a lap band seminar tonight. I have been looking forward to it for weeks. After talking to one of the girls at the SEB office, she wasn't too confident medcost would cover the surgery. Of course I am putting the cart before the horse hear but I was really hoping for an easy approval. Im really discouraged now. ETA: I just got off the phone with insurance. They require 6 mo of prior physician assisted weight loss. I was seeing a doctor from 6-26-07 until 11-06-07...not exactly 6 mo. Anyone know how closely they look at the actual dates? I stopped seeing that doctor cause she was terrible.
  24. My husband is a CHS employee, we have Medcost preffered and I was told they do cover it. Im sure you can call and ask in order to double check.
  25. you to be on a supervised diet for an extended period of time before they will approve the surgery?
