Just got home today from having surgery on Halloween. I don't regret it all. However, I still have a lot of gas pains and a little nausea. Working on fluids is hard when everything you take in tastes so weird. Water has been the best thing ever. I'm ready to get on with things and get this post op party started! I am scheduled for HALLOWEEN too!!! Your costume will consist of a patient gown, no undies, an IV and a hair bonnet. The best costume EVER!!!

I found out Monday that I was approved by insurance to have the sleeve!!! Tuesday, I found out that I will be having surgery on HALLOWEEN!!!! Today, I went to the hospital for my pre-op appointment and sign a bunch of paperwork.......now.......the wait begins!! 12 days and counting! This coming Monday on the 24th I will start my pre surgery diet of nothing but Clear liquids for a week. This is the part I am the most nervous about, but I know I can make it through. Keep your eye on the prize.....right? lol Its been a long but short 6 months of working towards this goal and soon I will get to make a new goal. I hope to lose maybe 10 lbs before I go in for surgery. 12 days.....just 12 days......

My last dietician appt was yesterday also. And my surgery is Oct 24 also, as long as no ins issues. Tomorrow is pre op day testing. I'm new btw lol. My last weigh in with the NUT is 10/3/16. The paperwork will then be sent to the insurance company for final approval. Tentatively my surgery will be 10/24 or 10/26. I have stopped drinking all sodas but will occasionally have a cup or less of coffee. I am trying smaller portions and giving myself more time to chew up my food. The biggest challenge I see coming is not drinking before/with/after meals. I love my water!!! With a smaller stomach, it might just prove to be the easiest!

I still have one more visit with the dietitian then my paperwork will be submitted. It can't get here quick enough!!!

No exact date for me as of yet, but I am hoping for end of October-ish. I am so excited and absolutely cannot wait to join everyone who has had VGS!! I can't wait to post my first success story and NSV. With all that being said......I'm gonna need a buddy too!
