  1. You look amazing! Thank you for sharing.
  2. I have a two and four year old. My plan is to have them stay with family for a week. From most of the posts I've read the pain subsides after one week and then you are just tired. My doctor told me that I will not be able to lift either of them for 6 weeks.
  3. That is great he sounds amazing!
  4. My last appointment is Oct. 20th and my surgeon told me that as long as I am willing we should be able to schedule for the first or second week of November.
  5. Check with your insurance company. I gained 4lbs after my second visit and I was freaking out but I called my insurance company (United Healthcare) and they told me there was no weight loss requirement during my supervised diet. I met with the surgeon last week and I asked him about it also. He said it's fine.
  6. Me too! I'm so hoping for November. My last nutritionist visit won't be until the end of October so I'm hoping my surgeon's office is quick about submitting and then there is the dreadful insurance wait. So I'm hoping for November but thinking maybe it will be December! Where are you located? What surgery are you having? What's your starting weight if you don't mind sharing? I was down 2 more lbs this morning so exciting.. My starting weight was 354, this morning I was 337. Praying and pushing for 300 day of surgery. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I am in St. Louis, MO. My last visit with the nutritionist is October 20th. At my last visit the nutritionist told me that I should definitely be able to have my procedure in November because most people don't schedule surgery around the holidays. I am having the gastric sleeve. As of Sunday I am down to 353.
  7. @@mylastchance21 We are on the same timeline. I also have two more visits with the nutritionist and I am hoping for a November date. I don't meet my surgeon until next week.
  8. I definitely think that is appropriate to ask. The reality is we all think about it and I guarantee you will not be the first person to ask. If he is a great surgeon he will have no problem answering. I went to a seminar my surgeon hosted before I decided on the sleeve and he was very open about his mortality rate(zero) and his complication rate.
  9. @@blackgirlfat Congratulations! I am having surgery in November and our starting weight is about the same so I will be stalking your progress lol. I have a huge concern about losing hair also but I heard taking your Vitamins helps to avoid hair loss.
  10. That's amazing I'm glad you found what works for you. I think a lot of us can relate to the sugar cravings but once you kick the habit you're good.
  11. Congratulations!
  12. You look great congratulations!
  13. Congratuations! I am also looking at surgery in November but iti has not been scheduled yet. I do not have any comorbidities either but I have a really high BMI.
  14. I am also in St. Louis. I don't have a surgery date yet but Dr. Morales at SSM Depaul will be doing my sleeve.
  15. Its good to see that you are in month 3 and feel like time is flying by.! I hope I can say the same in 3 months lol. Good luck to you Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App In the beginning it felt like time was going backwards but now that it's August I feel like November is right around the corner. My surgeons office says you cannot gain weight during the supervised diet and I gain three pounds in July so now it's a mad dash to get it off before my next appointment.
  16. Just make sure that october 20th is really your last visit. often it takes 7 visits because the first one doesn't count because it is the initial weigh in. Most insurance companies want 6 full months of supervised weight loss so the first visit doesn't count. My first visit was may 23rd and my last visit is nov 22 I will have to check into that thank you. They set all of my appointments right after they verified my insurance so I'm assuming they would have made a seventh appointment if I needed one but I definitely need to check.I have two small children so I'm getting all my ducks in a row to make sure I have plenty of help during and after surgery.
  17. I'm glad to see there are so many of us just starting out. I am in month 3 of my 6 month supervised diet and when I met with the psychiatrist last week she said I would be looking at a November surgery date. The time is flying by so quickly.
  18. I had my first of 6 consults on May 25th. My last consultation is October 20th so I'm actually hoping for a November surgery date but December seems more realistic. The waiting is killing me!
  19. I just bought the Fitbit Blaze and i love it. You can track your steps, heart rate, floors and sleeping patterns all on the band. You can also see your missed calls and text messages and control your music from the watch if you sync it with your phone. I have to charge it every four days.
  20. Hello! I am 29 years old 5'6 and 379lb. I don't have my surgery date yet but I look forward to hearing how you all are doing.
  21. You sound a lot like me. I also have PCOS and I will be turning 30 next month. The reality is we all could probably diet and exercise in order to lose the weight but the chances of us keeping it off are low and with PCOS the weight loss is slow and even harder to maintain. For me, my motivation to choose surgery is my children. I realize that the excess weight is unhealthy and I want to be around for a long time for them. Also, I want to have more children and at this weight it would be difficult to conceive. You have to make the decision on what is right for you but I have read lots of posts on here and no one seems to regret their decision to have surgery.
  22. I tried the berry flavor for the first time yesterday and I really like it. It's been really hot here so this was refreshing and it wasn't too sweet.
  23. I had my first consultation with the nutritionist today and she seemed to be pushing the sleeve. She mentioned that their office does very few bands now because as a society we are getting larger and the sleeve seems to lead to larger faster weight loss.
