  1. I think the closer we get to surgery, it not only becomes more real for us but also the people that love us. Ideally, they would be able to share their worries and fears in a more positive way but sometimes even really good friends have a hard time communicating about sensitive topics and for a lot of us weight IS a rather sensitive topic. Of course friends and relatives might resent losing the person that made them feel less guilty about their own poor habits and they might just fear losing the FUN part of a person that's already a blast to be around. Just remind them how much more fun you'll be when you have more energy and the confidence to do more! FWIW - When I start to feel nervous I hit up YouTube or these boards to watch and read the success stories and it helps me remember why I made this choice.

  3. Congratulations everyone! Almost there!!! I start my pre-op diet tomorrow. I'm actually kinda looking forward to it. I indulged over the holiday weekend and feel pretty sluggish and heavy now. Anyone else worry that your family and friends are getting tired of hearing about your surgery and post surgery lifestyle so often? They've been super supportive, but I seem to turn every conversation into speculation on my future sleeved life!!! I'm just so excited!

  5. June 15th for me as well... I've known this was coming for months but it seemed so far away. The insurance approval/surgery date scheduling call made it feel very REAL all of a sudden!
