Mine took about a week to get approved and the next available appointment at my surgeons office was a week after. I was hoping for a mid July surgery date but my surgeon was all booked up until August 2nd! I'm excited! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I had blood work and an ekg with my PCP. My blood work came back fairly normal with the exception of my sugar, which helped my PCP write my recommendation letter for my insurance approval. The most alarming was my Vitamin D level, it was so low she wrote me a prescription for it. My paperwork was just submitted to my insurance by my surgeons office. I don't have approval or a surgery date yet but I'm wondering if my Vitamin D deficiency would affect my surgery date? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I also have BCBS of TX! My requirements were similar. They didn't require a sleep study but I needed a letter from my PCP recommending me for surgery based on my worsening medical conditions. My patient advocate submitted my paperwork today and I'm so excited to read yours only took 3 days! He told me it would be 2-3 weeks. Do you have a date for your surgery yet? Hi Everyone! This is my first post and I'm sooo excited to be a part of this community. I've been reading forums for weeks! Although I don't have a surgery date (yet) I'm curious to know how much time it took for you to recover? I'm planning on gastric bypass. I've got two weeks I can take off work. I don't work in an office environment, I work in a bakery with 8hr+ shifts on my feet. I'm wondering what everyone's recovery experience was like! Thank you much!!
