Are there any patients of Dr. David Davtyan? I am considering him and would like to hear about others expirences with him and his staff.

I feel very frustrated and dissapointed. Today my doctor said something that really disturbed me. He said that I will know when I have a perfect fill because all I will only be able to eat liquids, I will look at food and be disgusted and a glass of water will satisfy me. He said that I will be able to go the whole day without eating as long as I drink liquids. Everytime I go in to his office his staff advise me to stay on a liquid diet until I reach my goal weight. That just sounds ludicrous. Maybe I am in the wrong here but it just doesn't make sense to me. I thought that the point of the lap-band was to help you control your hunger and portions while still being able to eat food. I undestand that there will be foods that I simply cannot eat because they are too high in calories or might get stuck but I never thought I would have to eat soup everyday until I reach my goal weight.

After the operation I was on two weeks liquids then two weeks mushies and I slowly started introducing solids after my first fill but today I went in for my second fill and he said I should be on liquids again. I know that two to four days on liquids after a fill is normal but he wants me on liquids for 3 weeks or more. The nurse said that I cant worry about not eating food because food is the enemy and a liquid diet will yeilds faster results.

I woke up this morning feeling extremly nauseous. I feel my stomach wanting to force the vomit out but nothing actually comes out. Is this normal? What can I do to stop the nausea? I already took anti-nausea medication and pepto bismol but I still feel like vomiting.

I'm so sorry you had to go though this. I would be completly heart broken. It is obvious that this woman was never your friend. She is a selfish and insentive person. Why would she want you to continue an unhealthy lifestyle which could lead to medical problems. Real friends care about what happens to you and see you as you truly are not just some number on a scale. I think you should forget about her. You deserve so much more.

I got my first fill today. I got 4cc's, is that too much for a first fill? I am worried about being too tight. Liquids go down a little slower than before the fill but they dont get stuck. I am expirencing a lot of gas and my mouth is producing a lot more saliva, is this normal?

I think I have a 10cc band but I am not sure

I’m getting banded March 24th and I’m really excited but I am also terrified. I know this is the right choice for me and I have thought about it for two years. Although I am secure in my decision sometimes I feel like this is too extreme and I should just give dieting one more chance but I have been dieting for 11 years. I know that the more I postpone it the more weight I will gain. I guess what I am looking for is some encouragement/support. I don’t know anyone with the lap band and although my family is supportive I don’t feel like they understand what I am going through.

I know how you feel. Several people told me that I was too young and should focus on trying to lose the weight on my own. All this negativity made me question my choice. I went back and forth for two years but now I know that this is the right choice for me. You cannot let them put you down. Only you know how much you have struggled and only you can make the right choice for your body.I agree with countingthedays you should find a doctor that will support you.
