  1. That's very kind, thank you x Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Thank you so much. My situation feels so much more about survival, healing and getting back on my feet, than weightloss. I had my surgery 31st May and now am only 28lbs overweight. So I do feel in an awkward position here. I do need support, prayer and any help there is here. Things are just so different here in the UK on the NHS. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I really don't want gallbladder surgery until the abscess is definitely gone. Yes, I will let you know. Thank you all x Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. I am in Yorkshire in the UK. I do speak to prayer partners on the telephone. No, there is no medical staff that could come out so I am taking taxis to my hospital appts and tests. As long as my blood tests remain decent, my bariatric team have decided that I am simply a slow recoverer. That scares me as I do have a mass behind my belly button and my stomach muscles are rigid anytime I try and stand up. Of course, everytime they touch me, they insist that I lie down, so they never actually feel the problem. Now they have decided my gallbladder has to come out, they are blaming all things on this too. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. That is so kind, thank you all. I am bedbound now so this forum and my phone friends are mostly all of my support. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. Yes, I also did two years of planning and research. All of my meal plans, Protein, Vitamins etc are of no use as my body can't tolerate any of it right now. All my pre op planning meant nothing. I spend a fortune on taxis everywhere, needs while in hospital, trying all different foods, liquids etc and having to have everything delivered. I have been housebound now since May. Research and planning doesn't always mean success. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  7. No one has told me why I developed an abscess. A friend of mine who had the same surgery at the same place is gravely ill in hospital with an abscess on her spleen. Neither of our abscesses can be drained due to their dangerous positions. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  8. All I can do is let them run the tests this week and pray they come up with a competent plan for me. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  9. Thank you, I really am losing hope. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  10. I search out hope from others who have had problems like me. If it weren't for the support I find here, some days would be almost unbearable. Seeing that others go through complications and make it really helps me. I no longer care about losing weight, I just want to survive, become well and get back on my feet. 12. food revulsion occurs when the thought of taking in food literally feels repulsive. Not the same as anorexia but the effect is the same. I have developed an abdominal abscess, was given a near fatal dose of cyclizine, have been in and out of hospital on IV antibiotics then oral ones which has led to rapid weight loss, now gallbladder issues. Had several CT scans, back in Weds for another one. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  13. It's not about food for me. I don't care if I ever eat again except for nutrition. My prognosis is of a long 6 months plus recovery. That does get me down. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  14. My bariatric team don't actually know what more to do. Other than diagnostic tests, they say it's "a mystery" to them. Didn't make me feel better. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  16. Wish I had researched more about what "could" happen. Everything bad that could happen to me post op has and I am looking at around a year to recover. I didn't know about "food revulsion" which can lead to malnutrition, didn't know about how many have to lose their gallbladder, lactose intolerance, abscesses after surgery etc. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  17. Six weeks post op and was told yesterday that my gallbladder has to be removed now. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  18. Mine developed an abscess. If you get a fever, call your doctor. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  19. I am in Doncaster and my surgery has been a nightmare. Several of my NHS group are also in and out of hospital with dreadful complications. I wonder if I had gone private would things have been different. Six weeks out, I am dreadfully ill and facing more surgery and more time in hospital. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  20. I am six weeks out and cannot eat any "bites" yet. I always feel full even though I only drink Water and have popscicles. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

  22. Hi all, nearly six weeks out and still very ill from a post op abdominal abscess. Was told yesterday I have to have my gallbladder out too. I can only get in around 100 cals a day and 500 ml of Water so I have dropped almost 60lbs in six weeks. I am so frightened that I won't survive another surgery. Having another CT scan Wednesday to discuss a guided aspiration of the abscess. The surgeon has already told me that he thinks that it would be too dangerous. Will I ever get well? All I can do is go from the bed to the couch and back everyday. Even showering is hard. I live alone so have to take care of myself. I pray all the time because that is all I can do. I have a counsellor who phones me on a Friday morning. She says that I have to keep fighting but I am so tired, so ill and in such despair. I keep reading about all these people eating this and that, drinking Protein etc. It makes me feel so sad and so scared. I just want to go to sleep but my circulation is so poor that I have to keep moving. If I do sleep for an hour or so, I wake up in agony in my hips and legs as if no blood is moving at all. I don't think I can take much more. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  23. Thank you so much. I just pray that I will actually recover. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  24. I have been amazed by the things and the amounts people eat! I get really upset because I am unable to eat anything at all and when and if I ever do, rubbish food is not on my list. Everyone here has been wonderful and supportive. I am also in the UK and have no real support except for here. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  25. Not at the moment, no. Their focus is weightloss and getting through the food stages. My surgeon is convinced my surgery was "textbook" and seems very satisfied. Everything here is broken down into depts. The nurse, the surgeon and the nutritionist. They have all decided that any problems are all in my head which is distressing enough. They give conflicting advice, contradict each other and literally just say that my recovery will be super slow. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
