Hi, had eval last week. Have been on time released Welbutrin for over a year. Shrink asked if I thought it was helping. Answered yes. He told me I have to change to a non time release due to sleeve. So what I can say being a person who suffers from addiction who is currently clean. I never put Psychotropics in a class of addiction but something to help me step to the next level like from the fog to the light if you will. Certainly we cannot lump individual experiences into one. To reveal I was sexually molested as a child. Mommy issues and turned to food. Which later led into a host of other bad choices including poor choices in men. One of which who committed suicide. Not just talking out of my you know where just keeping it real. Be honest, accept the help even if it delays your surgery date. It may end up being the catalysis you need to get something even greater. Good luck! You are where you are meant to be in this journey. You are not alone. Hang in there! Pre op due to be sleeved next month. My dad and aunt said they just do not understand the surgery if I am losing weight on pre op diet. Like have I ever kept it off?? Okay, wow my journey took two big leaps. I went for psych eval and ended up seeing surgeon same day. See Case Manager, 5/9. Kaiser wants to sleeve me next month. So now my dad and aunt do not understand why I want surgery. Since I have lost weight on pre op diet. Kaiser is a one stop shop and it was hard 2 month wait as they only have one psychologist per region for WLS. That sounds crazy what you are going through like a real breakdown in communication btn providers. Do not give up. Can you bring this to the insurance company's attention? Hang in there. Getting nervous for this appointment. Kaiser has so many requirements to be approved. Been doing at least 85% of lifestyle changes if not more. Just want my surgery date . Getting close to 30lb loss.
