Good news, insurance called and told me I had 1 year from approval. So I am clear. Whew!

You are close! My heart ablation is July 11th and appt to be cleared Aug 8th. So if all goes well surgery should be about 2 weeks from that. Insurance called today and said my approval is good for 1 year. So that is a relief too. That's next May!

Hey there! I was just approved but now have to wait for a heart procedure before I can set a date. So hopefully soon. Really want to get it done before my kids go back to school in Aug. How about you?

I know this thread is a couple months old but I figured you may know. Once insurance approves how long is it good before you need approval again? I was just approved but now my cardiologist wants to do a procedure and said I need to wait until after to discuss time frame for wls.

Tina, I'm having my surgery on June 24th @ mayo in jacksonville. Because I had a lot of things wrong with me, like sleep apnea, etc.. It's taken me over a year. @@Changed2016 I am having surgery at Mayo Jax too. Do you have a date now? I got insurance approval today. Hoping the schedule process is quick.

I had mine done with no anesthesia. They recently started doing this. I had the numbing spray but that was it. I gagged but knew I would so was prepared. They talked me threw it. Easy and I got up and went home.

@@Ruth1ess thanks! How are you doing? Also how long did they have you do the preop liquid diet? Does it depend on Dr or person? I have seen it all over the place.

@vandernoordh I also have the 6 months within the past 2 years. Did you use Dr visits? Most all my visits talk about diet and weight loss. The nurse said I would be able to use those? Just curious how yours worked?

Brand new to the site but am preop and will have surgery at Mayo. Dr Bowers as well. Last classes next Month. Do we have a one on one with the nutritionist before surgery? I am local too.
