  1. I wonder if he gives advice about drinking, "Drink as many mixed drinks as you want, just don't use a straw". lol, he says be easy with the drinks because a shot will get you drunk, and it's all empty calories. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  2. Thanks. I'll look into that. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  3. I'm having like, the exact opposite issue lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  4. They only gave me like 5 Protein shake options for preop and asked me to stick to those. Premier is reserved for post op for some reason. Of those preop shake options, two of them contain way too much actual sugar (I have reactive hypoglycemia) and caused me to have dumping syndrome. I have broth once a day at most because the shakes are pretty filling, and I don't so any sf Popsicles or Jello because I hate artificial sweetener and there's enough of that in the shakes as well. I haven't looked into the sodium in the shakes, though. I was thinking that once my Atkins supply runs out in two days, I'll make my own for the last 5 days and just use the muscle milk powder I already have. I can put lemon in my water. I'll try that. Maybe I just have an oversensitive system lol. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Have you done yours? What did you use? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  5. So I know there have been a million and one posts about the preop diet most of us have to adhere to. Mine was supposed to be 14 days, but scheduling between school and appointments, they weren't able to get me on it right away. I'm on day 5 of an 11 day liquid diet. It's 6 Protein shakes a day and unlimited Clear liquids. My shakes are Atkins shakes. Now, I've stuck to it pretty well so far. I cheated twice, both times, it was an egg I put in my broth, and I actually don't feel bad about it at all lol. I'm just not doing it anymore. My concern is that I feel bloated... I've got my energy back for the most part, the first 3 days were iffy... My stomach isn't upset like it was, but I'm still waking up puffy and bloated. I'm worried all the Protein Shakes aren't agreeing with me and that will harm the progress with my liver. Anyone have any ideas? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
  6. I spoke to my dietician and told him not to bullshit me lol. I quit smoking six months ago for this surgery. I'm allergic to hops so I can't have beer, anyway, but I smoke weed, and three months after my op I will be going to Jamaica. I asked him if I could smoke. He said, and I quote, "I don't give a fuck how much weed you smoke. Just no nicotine. Smoke it out of papers or a pipe, no blunts." I wouldn't know about Coke, I don't really do that. 7. I have a bmi of 44 right now. I'm getting the sleeve done, mainly because I have reactive hypoglycemia... I suffer dumping syndrome frequently if I'm not minding what I eat, anyway, and the doc worried that it would be too hard on me to get RnY. Sleeve it is.
