  3. I thought I would just share my story to pay it forward to somebody else thinking of getting this surgery done. My highest weight. In my life was 230 pounds. After the pre-op diet I got down to 220. I am 5'2" tall. So here I am at five months out and the happiest I've ever been. I went from wearing clothes that was 2 xl to wearing clothes that are size medium. I few days ago when I weighed myself I was 142 pounds. So I am currently down 88 pounds overall!! The bottom line is that I would do this surgery again in a heartbeat even if it cost twice as much. We have one life to live, and we should live the healthiest life possible. The only downside that I have found and is not a big deal is I have become lactose intolerant. I now drink Almond milk, I can still have cheese yogurt and ice cream. I just can't have regular milk. If anyone has any questions at all don't hesitate to message me, I'm an open book.
  4. It went so well!! I'm walking the halls and feel so optimistic about my life and what's to come!!
  5. The day has finally come to start my new healthier life. I'm having mini bypass with Dr Mario Camelo Ramos around noon. Wish me luck guys. : )
  6. These ideas are fantastic!!
  7. 3 surgeries! Do you mind sharing your story with us?
  8. I'm going with the MGB because studies coming out are saying that the MGB is more effective than gb with a much shorter surgery time.
  9. Having surgery with dr Carmelo in July! I was hoping any of you had follow ups to your journeys you'd like to share? Do you guys still recommend him? Thanks in advance
  10. Thank you for getting back to me! That's very helpful info. : )
  11. Thanks! What dr did you use in Mexico if you don't mind me asking? Do you reccomend them?
  12. ^^^ thanks for taking the time to share your story! It really does help to see how others come out on the other side!!
  13. Thanks so much! I'm realizing that I'm probably just overthinking the whole thing. : )
  14. I agree with all of the above. Have either of you ever regretted your sleeve and wished you'd had bypass? Leesa926 I love your outlook on food now. I hope to be there one day.
  15. Exactly! I hardly ever feel full. I've just learned to call it quits after 5 pieces of pizza or a second plate of food. glad the sleeve has worked for you. How much weight have you lost? Does your body tell you your hungry?
  16. I'm a 70 pound overweight female in my 20's with no other conditions. I know I overeat big portions and eat fast food 2-3 times a week. I am hoping the sleeve will help me to restrict my intake and motivate me to make better food choices for life. Will the sleeve help me do this or is bypass a better route for me? I have read some people feel restricted when they eat and others don't, some have no hunger while others do? Does it all vary from person to person or depend on the type of surgery/surgeon you get? I guess my fear is going to Mexico and having the sleeve and it not working for me. . .
  17. My brother had bypass with Dr. Ismael Cabrera in August 2015. He has since lost about 80 pounds and hit his target weight! The procedure went flawlessly and my brother highly recommends Dr. Ismael Cabrera. What stood out to me the most was the quality assurance that was made with the x-ray to assure my brother there was indeed a new smaller stomach that did not leak. I did all the research on his behalf and am beyond thrilled that everything worked out best case senecio. I would do my sleeve with Dr. Ismael Cabrera however when I called to find out more info I was told prices just went up and they weren't able to get me a deal to get the price back down. Must not want my repeat business because lots of other surgeons are less expense. Guess that's the only downside I could find with Dr. Ismael Cabrera.
