Sleeve this month in Belgium!
Hi Oasis I didn't really see much on Belgium when I was looking, all the positive reviews I came across were about Prague but I decided not to get too hung up on the why's and wherefores and just get on with it. What will be will be, In the words of the bonkers George Michael "You gotta have faith".

Good. You just need to focus on the end result. My attitude is that whatever happens, I can't be any more miserable than I am now. Go do it and stop looking for excuses to put it off.

You'd best ask the company. As I said, I haven't asked any questions, they are more highly regulated abroad than in Britain so I'm putting my faith in the doctors. It's not in their interest to make mistakes.

Like how come they do the blood tests and others before 1 day of the surgery? Is this normal? ..... Thousands of these ops have been carried out using this model so yeah, I guess it's normal if you go abroad for surgery.

You'll drive yourself mad, just remain focused on the end result and get on with it. Think positively at all times and get any negative thoughts banished immediately.

I'm really going to struggle with afterwards, I hate those Protein shakes, I don't like any shakes full stop. I'm also allergic to egg and fish.

GP
I went to see my GP on Friday regarding my surgery later this month and she was fab. I asked her if she would do my DVT injections (the thought of doing it myself freaks me out) and she said I have to go and see her the the day I get back and she'll sort out for the District Nurses to come to me and to let her know if I need an other support. She's said she used to live in Prague so has no reservations about me having my surgery there.

Two Weeks to Go!
Hi all I have booked my op for 18th April 2016 with Beautiful Beings in Czech Republic. Nervous, excited and scared are just some the feelings I'm getting. I've had relatively little information from BB, they've just said 'eat healthily' until I go and to take Omeprazole twice daily. There's loads of silly questions that keep popping up, like:- What should I pack? How will I get my bag in the storage unit above my head on the plane on my way home? Is there a shop in the hospital, how much Czech money will I need? Has anyone else been who can answer these for me, any help appreciated. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous about the op but truthfully, I think it's a positive thing I'm doing. Whatever the outcome, I can't be any more miserable than I am now. I can barely walk couple of hundred yards without huffing and puffing, my knees are killing me, I go up and down stairs like a two year old, one at a time, nothing fits me and when it does, I look horrible. Everything I own looks like a huge black bin bag etc.... Two years ago I lost five-and-a-half stone on the Cambridge diet but I've put it all back on in less than half the time it took me to loose it. I'm so angry with myself but I'm sure a lot of you have been there. All in all, I'm feeling pretty good about the op and am raring to go.
